We have had our SkyVue TV for 3 or 4 yrs now. We installed it in an outdoor bar that we had constructed. We have high humidity & heavy rainfall at times & the SkyVue has performed flawlessly! The picture is beautiful & the soundbar provides great sound. We love to invite friends over to watch major sports events and we often have movie night. Purchased a 55" 1200 NIT unit just less than 3 years ago. Beautiful picture until it went dead. Company was responsive and sent out a control board $340 billed to me and a guess on there part as to whether it would fix the problem. No such luck. Second part was a power board sent at no charge but again not a fix. The final resolution is the remaining parts that could be the issue are no longer available. So we are out $5000 on a tv that lasted just under 3 years and certainly fewer than 100 hours of run time. The tv was hung on our covered Lanai and covered when not in use. I purchased a home in 2020 that came with a Skyvue outdoor television by the pool and outdoor space. It was unfortunately hit by lightning a few weeks ago. I called and ordered a full sun 75" replacement. When going through the order process, Don asked if I needed a mounting bracket. My question was would the old one work and he said he wasn't sure so I went ahead and included it with my order at a cost of $599.00 I specifically asked if I could return it if it wasn't needed and he replied yes, so long as it wasn't in the original packaging. The new tv arrived and everything about it is fine. It's a good product. My 2 star review is based on when I called to get instructions for returning it, I was then told there would be a 25% restocking fee that had never been mentioned. Yes it is on the website if you read all the fine print. In addition to the restocking fee, I was responsible for shipping the bracket back. it weighed 65 pounds and that cost $135.00 The point is I'm out almost $300 for a $600 purchase after spending almost $12000.00 with Skyvue I tried reaching out to their customer service and sent an email giving them an opportunity to respond. It has now been 48 hours and there has been nothing but crickets. I even asked that they review the call assuming that their calls are recorded. My experience in life it's all about the little things. Disclosure on the front end would have made all the difference in the world. They fumbled that ball. Bought a 55 inch outdoor tv 2 years ago. Was used in a covered porch. TV screen developed horizontal lines an would go off after about 20 minutes. Contacted Skyvue. Individual needed to check with techs. Came back and said the panel was compromised. They did not make that panel so offered to send new panel for $999. So two year old out door tv lasts just 2 years if I replace panel I would have $3000 invested. Greatest rip off in history. Just go out and buy a regular tv for $300 use it until it dies and buy another one. Better than wasting money on a scam tv. I bet the regular tv would last longer than this piece of junk. The TV has been great, for a number of years. Recently, the soundbar started having issues. I interacted with Doug via email, and decided to ship the soundbar for diagnosis and repair. They have had the soundbar now for at least 3 weeks, and I cannot get a diagnosis or an ETA of when they might have a diagnosis. I assume they will eventually get to this, but I expected a little more communication and responsiveness out of a company like this. We bought our second TV from them in 2020. It was used until September 2022 then stored in a climate controlled area for a year while our house was being built. We then put it up in October of 2023 it lasted until July 2024! I wouldn't recommend them since this TV only lasted not even 3 years. The company thought it was the computer board at a price tag of $489.00 to find out it still didn't work. They then said it needed to be shipped to them to fix it. They did pay to ship it. They had it for a month to find out it can't be fixed because they don't make those parts anymore! These TV's are very expensive to only have it last for less than 3 years! Garbage in my opinion. I purchased a brand new 55" for my boat. I have had it for a year and it still doesn't work. It is a cheap tv put into a custom housing. It looks like a TCL TV. This company has been difficult to deal with. They sent the TV, but I struggled for hours to get it to work, only to realize they didn't include the Roku hardware to connect to the Internet! They also didn't send me the cover with my original order. So they missed two things. The delay in getting these to me basically cost me my outdoor TV time last summer, since I only had a month to enjoy it. So it was installed this summer. For their stupidity, wasting my time trying to get a TV to work that didn't have Internet hardware, they did nothing for me. (For example, when they didn't send the cover, I asked them to take that off the bill, but they declined.) As a business, they don't seem like making the customer happy is a priority. The TV I bought has a design flaw -- the back panel protrudes too far back, making it difficult to find a mounting bracket that will work. They need to change their mounting brackets on the set itself to clear the protrusion. Also, the TV needs a sound bar (it has no speakers), and only their bar seems to fit the screws. How convenient. Basically, I think this is a waste of money. I want to leave it outside all winter, under cover, and it only is supposed to be protected down to -20F. My summer home is in northern WI, and temps could exceed that. So I might have to pull it off the mount. Problem is it weighs a lot, and it takes two strong people to remove it. I don't really recommend this company, sadly. If this TV goes kaput, I will probably buy an off-the-shelf model and simply take it in after the summer. Brian Detter McLean, VA read more

Don't waste your money. I bought one for my pool house thinking this is the best way to go and I won't have any issues with the TV for years. Well, after not even 2 seasons the TV has a big white line running through the middle. Called customer support they told me there is nothing they can do. Your TV is out of warranty after 1 year and these things happen sometimes. I could've bought a $400 TV and got 2 seasons out of it and then bought another one and another one before coming even close to what I spent on this one. So disappointed! My Skyvue 50" Full Shade is going on third summer, overall no major issues with picture. I bring the TV in during winter months, I believe this has helped with picture quality vs some of the other reviews Ive read. I Have had remote control issues, and cannot get it to work currently. Not about to spend $100 to get another one from Skyvue. But I downloaded a Vizio mobile remote app to my phone so I can control volume, power, etc. I use a Roku stick to connect to all my services like Netflix, Prime, Hulu, etc. I have Direct TV (ATT) for inside house, and Roku has channel app for that so I get all my inside channels thru this app, so thats nice. My Roku doesnt control volume. Speaker soundbar is good if you sit directly in front of TV, but if you are off to the side, not great sound. Tech service at Skyvue said you could connect side speakers on your own using other connections in back of TV, havent done it yet. With the Full Shade version, not great to view without a big umbrella blocking sun, but from 2pm on its great picture for backyard. read more

The whole experience with this company was unpleasant. I purchased a 65", went with "partial shade" even though the TV was placed in full shade. During the day, the screen was entirely washed out by sunlight. This is an outdoor TV that could only be watched after sunset. Buyer beware of return policy, I lost basically a grand (restock fee and return shipping cost). Company does not stand by their product and one employee told me the picture could be distorted due to the temp outside. I checked their website and no where is that mentioned. Save your money and do not buy this crap, highly dissatisfied in their product. If you want a TV you can actually watch outside, Samsung Terrace is beyond amazing. SkyVue = crap product and crap customer service. JUNK JUNK JUNK I will say the TV is pretty, when turned off, the frame around the screen looked really nice. read more

The speaker was never replaced nor was there ever a call back given to me. I have the tv still if you would like to actually fix the problem. Please do not post inaccuracies to yelp. After a call to let skyvue know i never did get a solution. Matt from technical support has been really helpful and is sending a sound bar i can connect to the tv. Hope this corrects the issue, thanks Matt. Someone should get with the yelp business manager and make sure his posts are accurate. Great job matt and thank you again. Avoid this company! All they are doing is buying Vizio TVs and putting them in a metal enclosure that is caulked water tight. After 1 year the IR sensor died and the remote would no longer work, we asked for them to send us a new IR sensor (probably ~$20 part) and we would take it upon ourselves to replace and re-caulk the enclosure, they refused and said the only way was to send them the whole TV, $350 there, $350 back to us, and when we got it back, we plugged it in and the screen was cracked and had scratches on it. The backlight worked, but no picture. They claimed that because we did not test it immediatly after recieving it, we must have damaged it and they would not repair or replace unless we paid again to ship it to them. DO NOT BUY from this shady and unethical company! read more

Just installed outside today - the picture is awesome, but the fans run constantly and is very annoying. The temperature outside is 73 degrees and 30% humidity - I felt the tv and it is not even warm. If this is normal, I don't want it. I've had my 55" SkyVue for 9 years and want it to fail so I have an excuse to buy a new one. I live in Rochester NY and have never taken the TV inside in the Winter and it continues to work with no issues. Hopefully, their new TV's are just as good as the old ones. I am sorry to have to say that for the cost of this TV, it is not worth the money. Mine started going dark on the left half of the tv in less than a year. They sent a couple boards to try to resolve, but after a few weeks, the only choice I was given was to ship it back at a cost $500 round trip. So after spending $1700. I got eleven months of TV. So unless you want an eleven month TV, don't buy a TV from them. In my opinion just buy cheap TV and-replace as needed. read more

While the picture was definitely brighter, the picture quality was nit as good as the $300 TV we were replacing on our back deck. The real probLen came when I decided to return it. Between having to pay for shipping and paying a restock fee, I will end up having spent over $500 to return it, and that is for a $1600 TV. Had I opted for the $3000 one I was considering the cost would have been much higher due to the restock fee being based off of 15% of the sale prI've. Avoid this product. i bought my tv around may of 2021, i live in new jersey so this is a seasonal type product for us. We used the tv for a few months over the summer of 2021 and we covered it up around Oct of 2021. at most we used the tv maybe 20 hours over the summer and that is being generous. Late may of 2021 (outside the 1 year warranty) we unwrapped the tv as we started opening the yard for the summer. The TV was blacking out and freezing for a few seconds, then it would come back on and pick up where it left off. this would happen every few minutes. i called skyvue in early june to advise of the problem. At some point in early June the tv just stopped turning on, only thing that would go on is the small white light in bottom right corner. I will say Sky Vue customer service was great. even though it was out of warranty, they sent me a new motherboard free of charge which i swapped out. unfortunately the tv still didn't work. i called again, and again they were great and said it must be the power board which they sent free of charge. at this point its july, when following instructions on power board i noticed 1) a screw was missing from the board so if the power board required to be sealed this was a red flag. i never noticed this because i never looked for it. 2) the instructions advised that a blade would be required to remove the silicon from the seal around the power board panel. well, the tape around the panel was completely dried out and came off without any need for a blade, think of dried out tape on a piece of plastic. changing the power board yielded no results, tv still didn't turn on. i called sky vue again and they were great again, they said ship it back and we'll take a look. only problem is it costs 500+ to package and ship the tv back as i threw the original box out a year ago. so now i'm stuck with a 2k investment i used around 3 months. if i ship it back and pay 500 and it costs a few hundred to fix and a few hundred to ship back is it worth it? i don't think so. what if i ship it back and it can't be fixed? my 2k investment becomes a loss of 2500. the bottom line is the product seems flawed, so great customer service but don't invest in the product, go for samsung read more

Couple things. We received incorrect table top mount despite placing an order for the correct mount for our tv. Now the issue we have is our remote does not work properly. When following the instructions in owners manual to operate remote, the remote is not responding accordingly. For spending this kind of money on a tv I certainly expect it to be a plug & play. I've had 2 of these and they don't last. The first one died after a couple of years. The 2nd one wasn't sealed correctly and once moisture got into it, the screen clouded up, which made it unwatchable with sun on it (defeating the whole purpose of it). If this TV wasn't so insanely expensive, this wouldn't be a big deal, but it's crazy expensive. I complained about my cloudy screen to Skyvue and the response was 'sucks to be you'. In fairness to them, it was out of warranty, but for this price I expected to get closer to 5 years out of it, not 2 1/2. read more

First 40" skyvue tv developed a shadow and was replaced under warranty. Replacement tv also developed a shadow. Matt told me since it's now out of warranty I should take it to a local repair shop at my own cost. Both of these tv had only a total of 600 hourHind sight, I should have never bought from them. I then bought a smart I bought the 42" NXG early in 2015 and I'm very impressed with the quality of the protective frame. I mainly use (90% of the time) just a leaf type antenna which picks up 80 channels (approx. 12 channels are my type) and several of my friends have commented on how clear the picture is with great color. Occasionally I bring out my cable receiver and connect it and the picture quality is even better. The sound bar is also more than adequate. I did have an issue with the TV recently that was resolved in a timely and professional manner. I'm happy with my TV and Skyvue's customer relations. Update: My first still under warranted 42" tv developed a shadow with approx 300 hrs of use. Was able to return for another. Same thing happened with the replacement. Now since out of warranty they wouldn't replace nor repair. Told me to take it to a repair shop. Hind site, never should have bought from them. Since tv stays outside and always under cover I just bought a 40" smart tv from Best Buy for $225. Still running good, just wished I'd done it that way in the first place. We purchased our newest 65" OBX Skyvue in April which was our 3rd television from them in 10 years (that should have been a warning not to do it again!) The TV was purchased under the assumption they had it to sell - which they did not. Theyy quickly took our payment and never called back regarding shipping. We waited over 4 weeks for it to ship (even tho we were told 10 days) with no one returning phone calls or explaining why. Now the television is in our possession with NO installation and/or users manual available either on-line or shipped to us. No one is returning calls - worst customer service company. How can there be no one available to answer a phone call ever? DO NOT purchase from them. They were very quick to take our $8700 for the tv but cannot find someone to call us back with either delivery questions and then installation issues! Go to Best Buy and look at SunBrite. Purchased a skyvue 6-8 years ago. Worked great first few years but have had issues with audio and picture for last 5-6 years. Now spending money going back and forth swapping parts etc. they're trying to help but I don't have confidence they understand the interaction of trying to marry a commercial tv to their electronics in a sealed outdoor environment. Maybe just cheap Chinese components overheating. Very frustrating as the tv should last for 20 years when you only use it for 6 months a year sparingly. Maybe I got the runt of litter.
