    Really nice wall hangings

I really really liked this spot! Coming from Los Ángeles, a charming vegan friendly eatery with immaculate decoration felt like home away from home. LOCATION: Parking is difficult in Utrecht. Coming from the United States, parking is difficult in every biggish city in Europe. We were able to find parking down the street. It costs 5 euro for every hour. There is no "it's free after 9pm" on this Main Street. The girl working in the restaurant was nice enough to check out the sign for us. Bike parking seems readily available and the dominant means of transportation. If you're coming by car from a different area and able to find parking, spend some time walking along the street. It's super cute! There are galleries very close and lots of design studios. We were here on a Friday afternoon and it was very lively! SERVICE: The service was good. There were three people working behind the counter. They answered all of our questions and helped find a suitable option for an allergy. One of the girls was especially nice! She made me feel very welcome and comfortable. She was all smiles and didn't seem uninterested in us despite our English. They offer in house seating and to-go. You can pay before you get your food or after. The food was ready quite fast as the ingredients are mostly pre-prepped and they assemble it. FOOD: The five stars for the place is all about the food. Large amount of food. Good quality and quantity. Worth the price. 95% organic! And every bite was delicious and delicate! I'll be dreaming about the bowl I had. It was the Korean bowl with kimichi.... so good! They use compostable forks and spoons. They have Himalayan salt on the table and the olive oil was good. I felt like this place really cared and I felt great after the meal. not sure about the other locations (I saw they have some in Amsterdam too) but this place seems too good to be a chain. Thank you Sla! Charming interior and delicious meal!

Best soup ever. No joke…read more This was featured as the ROTD, twice I think, and I simply had to check it out. After parking my bike outside the shop, I walked inside. It was raining hard and I was soaking wet. A couple of tables were occupied already. There was one guy working at the time and he was incredible friendly. He greeted me in Dutch and I only understood enough to say, "Inglés, por favor!" He was very nice and introduced each type of soup they had on that day. I decided to go with the sweet potato soup. It was so creamy with a hint of spiciness. He asked if I wanted anything else, and I opted for the bread with oxenwurst, based on his recommendation. It was so good. They even have free wifi! Just ask for the password. I found the wifi to be reliable and fast enough to check in via Yelp, send emails, etc. This place is actually spacious, considering its central location. There are a number of tables that are good for individual diners, small, and large groups. Also, they close at 7pm on some days and if you were to visit right before closing, you can ask for your soup to go. FYI, the sidewalk is somewhat narrow but still enough room to park your bike. They don't take American credit cards, except the Dutch ones. So bring some cash with you!

Total big fan of their soups, so much that I was like I am coming here too frequently. I realise I…read moreneed to step up my creative skills in the kitchen and try to learn how to make some of these awesome soups. Ideal place to visit on a cold and typical rainy day in the NL.
