I am a bit sad about having to post a "not so stellar" review of Southern Lawn & Equipment (SLE) but folks need to know. I purchased my lawn mower along with two other pieces of lawn equipment, the sales team and up till now the service department were stellar. I get my mower serviced here every winter so I am ready for the summer mowing season. It seems their attention to detail and customer service are sorely lacking. Last year when I had my mower serviced the service was poor, but I chalked it up to one of those moments in life. This year...take the same mower in for service and explain to the man taking in the mower I needed a spring on the handle replaced, even showing him on one of their new mowers which spring needed replacing. He documented everything and I asked him to have someone call me with an estimate for the spring replacement. No call so I follow up and they tell me it's ready, I ask about the spring and was told everything was taken care of. I go to pick up the mower...repair to the spring not done. Seems they "repaired" the wrong spring, and that I would need to leave it longer to get the correct spring repaired and it should only take a day. Leave the mower and no call for a couple of days so I call and am asked for my information and they would call me back. No return call...so I call again and same story they are busy and to leave my information and they would call me back. They did call me and the mower was ready, I picked it up and now everything seems to be fixed and serviced. I'm writing this not to slam SLE...but to let them know their communications and customer service in my last two experiences with them have been sub-standard. read more

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with SLE Equipment. I was supposed to receive a refund of $88.45 for Order #30234, which I was told would be issued on March 27. As of today, the refund has still not been processed. I have called multiple times to follow up. Each time, someone answers but the issue is never resolved, and I am repeatedly told I will receive a callback -- which never happens. There has been no follow-up, no confirmation, and no accountability. Delaying a promised refund and failing to return customer calls is unacceptable. At this point, I have wasted far too much time trying to get a simple issue resolved. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this company and would advise others to be cautious. read more

Ordered a Ferris mower wheel by the OEM part number, Received a different version with 2 different part numbers on it. Bottom line is the item received was not what was ordered and will not work. Sent all the requested pictures to CUSTOMER SERVICE (HAHA) only to then have SHIPPING request all the very same pictures and information, then ignored by BOTH. No HELP at all in resolving the issue. Brought my mower in for repair over four months ago. They finally fixed the broken part 3 months later but found the carburetor was bad. I told them to fix it at that time. A month later I called asking why it wasn't done yet and they said they were waiting on my approval, which as I said I had already given them. For the pleasure of them holding my mower all summer long they want me to pay nearly $280. Looking at other reviews they clearly don't care about their reviews and are perfectly happy being the worst reviewed lawn equipment place in Tennessee. read more

Not Recommended!!! Disappointed with this purchase. The lawnmower was improperly adjusted, a clear sign that basic assembly checks were overlooked. When issues arose, the vendor was unresponsive and failed to return any of my calls. A lack of accountability and follow-through turned what should have been a simple transaction into a frustrating experience. Placed an order online. Single part for husqvarna snowblower. Order was placed on 11/26/25. no confirmation of shipment, today is Tuesday 12/2/25. Called them, "we'll order it today". Uhhh ok, it's 4:00pm central but ok. "7-10 business days and you get it." So 2.5 weeks to receive my part with no notice of delay? Zero communication and rude customer service rep. Experience not good at this point. Phone answering initially good but, when extended to the shop or tech is generally not answered. New Husqvarna zero turn 48" mower on delivery has hydro issues. First time adjustments made issue worse, second time two people sounded like salesmen, said they operated the mower and it was good. My second ownership of two Husqvarna mowers of same size. First one easily operable but would only cut about 2 1/2" high. This one hard to use hydrostatic and could be dangerous around streets and ditches. Cutting close to objects difficult. I have asked for a refund or a replacement. Zero response from SLE! This will probably be mitigated. This company is seriously mismanaged and disorganized! Husqvarna equipment seems to have many quality issues such as hydros, Cutting height and leveling of cut issues. Stay away from this company! ​ read more

SLE and Ferris mowers is a complete disappoint. I made the purchase for what I thought was best in the class. It has been a complete joke. The vanguard engines are horrible. My mower has been in the shop most of the summer. I cannot use it. I get told to call the dealer. All Briggs and Stratton call Ferris. Call repair shop. And cannot use my high dollar over hyped over priced POS mower. Stay away from vanguard Ferris and especially SLE in Antioch tn. They will not back their equipment product read more

Recently I purchased an expensive Husqvarna professional chainsaw from SLE Equipment. It arrived damaged in shipping, and I sent it back. Now, a month later SLE has yet to credit the cancelled purchase back to my credit card. I had filed a dispute with my credit card company which SLE's Customer Service Rep Terra claims SLE settled. A call to my credit card company reveals that SLE Equipment has not contacted them or settled the account. I initially filed a claim for the damage with UPS. They settled by paying SLE for the damage. So far SLE got their damaged saw back, a settlement from UPS and my money from a credit card purchase. I was assured it would be 10 days as the manufacturer had it in stock and they checked to make sure. 14 days latter I emailed to check status. no reply. 18 days later I called was told it was on the way. Called again 24 days and told if I don't get in 2 days I'll be issued a refund. 28 days I called yet again we can't issue a refund it has shipped and if it's retuned I'll be charged 20% of cost. If I could leave a zero star review, I would. I ordered an attachment for my Husqvarna string trimmer, which took several months to receive. When I finally got it, it wouldn't stay attached. It kept coming loose and basically would not work. I called SLE and requested a return label. When they received the part, they said it was used and broken, so I would not get a refund. If anything was broken, it's because the part was defective and would not stay attached. I have tried contacting them at least a half dozen times, and I've never received a response. SLE has the worst, nonexistent customer service I've ever dealt with. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. read more

Very disappointed with the service here. I'd give zero stars if I could. I dropped off an item for a warranty issue, and was told no work would be done unless I approved the work and charges. The next day I received a voicemail saying that the work was not covered by warranty, but the work was completed anyways and I owed $105. I never approved any work! When I went in to get the item, they said they would undo the work if I didn't want to pay. I was handed my item, but as I was walking out I asked if I needed to sign anything, and then they suddenly said that I owed $54 for shop time, even though I hadn't approved any of the work they did! If I hadn't asked if I needed to sign anything I would have been able to leave without payment. That was very suspicious. But they worker even brought up two larger gentlemen to stand behind the counter while I talked with him, appearing as though trying to intimidated me into paying, or else... I did not feel respected as a customer, or safe with the imposing force used. I will not be coming here again, and I will recommend others not use this place of business. read more

We purchased a Husqvarna MZ61on line as well as a bagger. We were billed two separate shipping charges on the order. After 6 weeks and no notification as to shipping date I reached out via their email since no one picks the phone up and they don't call you back when leaving a message. I was finally able to have them ship our mower. The mower was shipped with gas in it and during the shipment gas entered in the oil per the owner of the local authorize Husqvarna servicer. I called and left messages with SLE as well as emailed them and no response. We now have a 6K mower that doesn't work. I only wish I would have read some of these reviews prior to buying from them. I took my Husqvarna mower to SLE to be repaired. They are a Husqvarna dealer and was recommended per the warranty. I bought my mower at Home Depot. SLE has a lots of supplies and lawn equipment from commercial mowers to pressure washer, etc. They have helpful staff to promptly assist you. I paid a little over $100 for SLE to replace the carburetor on my mower. He explained the work that needed to be done. It took a week. It cranked perfectly once repaired. The customer service was great and the location is convenient. My only issue is the worker who put the mower in my vehicle. I don't think he wanted to help put it in my vehicle. Anyway, he unscrewed the wrong area to fold down the handle. The nut on the handle fastening fell off. I got home and could not mow since the handle would not stay connected to the base. I called SLE and took my mower back. I was happy they gave me a "quick fix" and agreed to order a new handle fastening. Hopefully, it will be here in a few weeks. Overall, my experience was good and I am looking forward to mowing this season. read more

Stay away from these people. I wanted a Husqvarna MZ61. Saw one I liked on their website. I called in the middle of a weekday to ask if it was still available. No answer at sales dept, no answer at customer service. So I left messages. No calls back from either. So I did an online inquiry (you know, "contact us"...). No response for days. So I ORDERED an MZ61 from SLE online....when it came to payment screen I had choice of credit card or financing. I chose financing. I actually got an order number and it said "Congratulations on your purchase. You will be receiving a confirmation email shortly". Three days later NOTHING. No email, no phone call....crickets. FOUR days later someone calls me, "Were you trying to buy an MZ61?"...ummmm, yes, but you aren't making it very easy. "Well you have to click the 'Finance' button on our website". Well it didn't say that. I printed the confirmation page and it says I will get a confirmation email and someone will contact me. "Well that's not the way it works". Soooo....I went elsewhere and bought a John Deere Z540M zero turn. Great buying experience at Ag Pro. These SLE people are boneheads. By the way, I got a canned marketing email yesterday, TEN DAYS LATER, from a "Jerret W" at SLE. He was responding to my very clear question asking if "MZ61 was still available?". He didn't answer the question. Clearly didn't even read or see my original inquiry. Just sent me a canned marketing response. I responded "Hey Jerret, you are a little late to the party brother, I spent $6,000 on a new John Deere four days ago". Unbelievable that I literally clicked a button and spent $5,000 on their website and nothing happened after that. Sad for them really. Had a return on an incorrect part in March 2023. Now August 2023, and refund is still "in processing". Every time I call I get someone who needs to transfer me to the manager Peter, then I get his voice-mail or I am put on hold indefinitely. No one ever returns calls. If I call back the same day then no one will answer. I have paper work stating the return is authorized minus a $60 restock fee on $300 part. Shipped return parts on March 28th. This company is an absolute horrible place to do business. On 23 November I ordered a part from their website for a customer and was charged. The item was not in stock, was not listed as a special order part, and did not notify me of this. Every other company I deal with will, 1. notify you if the item is special order, 2. inform you it is not in stock, and 3. not normally allow you to add something that is NOT in stock to your cart for order. After over a week of no information or communication, I sent an email asking about an update on the status and as to why I did not receive the item I purchased. I received the following on 30 November "Currently, your order is placed with the manufacturer. It should ship from them within the next 3 business days or so. Once we receive it from them, it typically takes about 2 days for you to receive your tracking number. If you have any questions please let us know." I responded explaining to cancel the order as I was able to receive it from someone else in a shorter amount of time and with more professionalism. On 7 December the following was received: "Unfortunately, we are unable to cancel this order because it has arrived here today and is scheduled to ship tomorrow. If you still want to cancel, there will be a 20% restocking fee deducted from the refund. If we do not hear a response from you, we will continue with the shipment as scheduled. We're sorry for any inconvenience. " I was patient, even though I was receiving calls from my customer that needed this part for his home stand-by generator in Florida. Today I contacted them asking, once again, where the part was and received this: Hello sir, "Thank you for your patience, I want just to let you know that if you reject the package, we are going to take the 20% restocking fee that our policy states, and also the shipping costs for the return will be charged before making the refund to your account. The item, as I explained in another email before, arrived yesterday to our store, the shipping company had delays with the deliver, please allow us 2-3 business days until you receive the package. " This was 10 DAYS past the date they said it was to have already been shipped. This is COMPLETELY UNACCECPTABLE, and horrible business practice. read more

Called and ordered a Husqvarna Excite 350 zero turn mower, verified with the salesman Kip F. tht they still had them, he assured me they did. Paid with my credit card full amount. Two days later Kip F. called and stated that the mower was "discontinued" by Husqvarna and they did not have one, he stated the company had problems with the handle switches. He offered the H 345 as a replacement and told me they were more expensive but they would sell it to me at the same price. I told him to send me a link to the mower he was referring to and I would check it out. He sent me the link, and I find out that mower sold for $500.00 less than the 350, I called Husqvarna and also found out that the 350 WAS NOT DISCONTINUED. I emailed to cancel the order and send my money back. Later a "manager" called me an said they weren't discontinued but there was a massive "recall" and they sent back the units they had, I stated again to return my money. I checked again with Husqvarna and two other dealers all stated "NO RECALLS" . After filing a complaint with the BBB and filing a dispute with my credit card company Finally got my credit 4 days later. I'm having a similar poor experience to others who tried to purchase a product online from their website. I called a week ago about a mower that is listed as In Stock, to verify they indeed had it and that it would ship within a few days. They verified it would ship in 2-3 business days. I even received a nice email from an employee inviting me to reach out if I had any questions. A week later, order status is still listed as "processing". All emails to the employee have gone unanswered. I called and asked for an ETA, and they said they still haven't ordered it from the manufacturer, but would send an email today with an ETA. When I asked why they told me they had it in stock when they don't, I was told that was "a miscommunication" I received an email saying they would send me an ETA when they had one, but from other reviews it sounds like I should cancel the order and look elsewhere as I'll be waiting several more weeks. Very deceptive website that claims they have an item in stock, but don't actually have it nor apparently have a way of obtaining it. They were very efficient at billing my credit card. read more

We had some miner hick ups on a few code violations based on WA state code to have a food trailer plug and play. But we know what to fix on the next one. Got it all straightened out. I highly suggest printing the checklist the inspector brings from LI to look at the trailer based on each state. It would for sure help both parties. I dropped off my Husqvarna lawn mower for service and was told it could take two to three weeks to have the work completed. That was rather disappointing, but I understand and accept that they are busy this time of year. I received a text only two days later stating that the service was completed and I could pick up my mower. I was very surprised and I actually thought it was a mistake, so I called SLE to confirm. I talked to a very helpful young lady who told me that my mower was indeed fully serviced and ready for pick up. Beware of shopping at SLE online. Orders show processing online for days. This order was for a standard Toro muffler and there is nowhere on the site that advises whether and item is in stock or not. Or if its a special order. Then a week later they tell me the part just arrived from the manufacturer to them and not to me? And it again has to be shipped from their site to me. I cancelled the order per their pre-shipment cancellation policy and they say they can't accept the cancellation and will ship anyway. Plus, they are going to charge a restocking fee of 20%. This retailer is not very customer oriented and just not very aware of their competition, I should have ordered from Amazon or anyone else. this place is trash and disrespectful. They have no respect whatsoever. I've bought three chainsaws from them my first chainsaw. They accused me of apparently not mixing the oil and other mixers right I said quiet and I let them repair it, and I had to pay for its repair. Second chainsaw I bought from them. It still works till now and it's perfect. Then I came to buy a third one because I was in need of a third one and when I came to turn it on, it started pouring out gas everywhere and when I went to go show them, they told me I didn't mix the oils right and I find it quite funny how they consider me stupid for not knowing how to mix the oils although my second one is working perfectly fine, so how did I not learn my lesson from the first one? It just doesn't make any sense and I find them absolutely ridiculous. I asked for both my chainsaws back at the that were being repaired and then they gave it to me with everything unscrewed, and in the middle of the process of being built, they could've at least put it back together but instead they threw it out side, although when I gave it to them to repair it, it was perfectly screwed in. read more

It was delivered on 2/4/22 and met all of their refund requirements tracking# 9405503699300153283052. However, they waited until 2/28/22 before I received a refund. DO NOT TRUST THEM. My order came with a broken box. The label 'Shindaiwa RS76' was taped over 'Prizelawn ...' box. So, clearly it wasn't in its original box. I was told that it was brand new and came from the manufacture. I am not sure the item inside the box is exactly what I ordered The manger Kenny refused to take it back. On October 2, 2021 , I ordered a Generac GP 17500 E portable generator from SLE Equipment for $ 3159.00. They told me if I gave them a $ 500.00 deposit they would ship me the next one they got in. I gave them a credit card number and they hit it for $ 500.00. and they gave me a p.o. number. Nothing happened for 6 months. I called them every month and there was a new excuse each time. Finally they called in late April and said they were going to ship me one. Big problem was they jacked up the price $ 500.00. On their computer bill they issued a new purchase order, but on the shipping order the OLD, original purchase order appeared. They refused to honor their contract. This company has a wide selection however they charge a 20% restocking fee for items even before they are ever shipped to you. I sent an email requesting a lower restocking fee because 20% is extremely high especially considering I never received the products. The Company never responded to my email so I filed a claim with PayPal. I called the company on the phone and they said they couldn't help me until I canceled my PayPal claim.
