    Mold

So we slept at Sleep Inn Metairie last night. Too tired to drive back from the airport. The desk clerk first refused to room because we had the court papers" for Mae. I politely asked him to call his manager, and I prepared to call the police to make an incident report this is the fourth Sleep Inn that has given us trouble over service dogs. It's clear that the franchises under Choice Hotels are not being schooled in service dog law. We've been really pleased with some of the rooms we have stayed in over the last couple of years. Clean, moderate pricing and relatively safe. The hotel last night was an exception. Mold, a broken toilet that ran all night and a really dirty bathroom. In the times of respiratory pandemic and epidemic that's more than worrisome. Add to that that the desk clerk gave someone a duplicate key to our room and they burst in on us late at night when everyone was in bed. not what I needed when I'm having trouble sleeping anyway because of tooth pain worry about my upcoming dental surgery tomorrow. I'm going to write letter to corporate have at the last three run-ins we had and if they don't ameliorate the problem, we will take action. just when you think you made some headway in training. With the thousands of hotel years, Police, businesses in community group, sweet educated through the years, it's clear there's still a lot to be done. As you can tell by the picture, Mae was none too pleased with the accommodations either. So we slept at Sleep Inn Metairie last night. Too tired to drive back from the airport. Ceiling vent hanging down

I paid in advance to stay here 130.00 a night for 6 days stay I paid 879.00 bucks. The price should have been about 70.00 dollars. Let me say the lady at the front desk was really nice. Ok the room was a disaster the bathroom wall was busted and rust everywhere. The ceiling vent was hanging down. Stains all on the carpet. You can smell the mildew in the carpet I ask for another room there was none available. The mattress is terrible and the pillows are like half a pillow. There was only cereal and pastries for the breakfast. No waffles. Jimmy dean sausage in the ice box. The rooms need to be painted. Waste my money.

    Bath tub leaked.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Well here are six pictures. The only reason this location got one star is because the staff were nice.

The place was very dirty, the room had no sleep alarms, in the breakfast room there were cut wire hanging from the ceiling, a fire hazard and no certificate in the elevator

The place is just ok. Parking spots in the main lot are tight, but there is additional parking across the street. We checked in late, after 10 p.m. When entering the room, we literally started sliding. Why you ask? Because the floor was wet from mist. It was so humid in the room, that my hair started to frizz. My daughter said her bed felt damp too. The counter top in the bathroom was wet from mist too. They said the reason for that is because it's so humid in New Orleans. Idk. I've stayed at several hotels in New Orleans and never experienced that. We only stayed there to be close to the airport definitely won't stay again.

Clean, comfortable, & can't wait to get back from a long day of working hard!!! Happy hump day everyone

RUN! DO NOT STAY HERE!! Prior to Covid when Cindy was the manager, we stayed here regularly. This was our first time back in two years, and things have gone downhill. The rooms are disgusting and need a complete overhaul. Dirty sheets, no linens available for the sofabed, rusted fixtures, ripped carpets, roaches, and our kids found an open box of condoms left in the nightstand drawer! We would switch hotels, but everything is sold out for the weekend due to state football championships and several conventions. The smoke alarm was ripped out of the ceiling and the elevator doesn't have a posted inspection permit. So in addition to the rooms being disgusting, there are real safety hazards that need to be addressed. We didn't bother eating breakfast due to the lack of cleanliness. Found a broken fingernail on the counter at the coffee station.

Some of the mold in the bathroom.

This was the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed at. First we pulled up and the entire parking lot was covered in cat food. Literally, it looked like 10 huge bags were dumped everywhere. After crunching my way through the cat food and into the hotel, I went to the desk to check in, but no one was there... for a long time. Eventually, when an employee appeared, who was super nice I might add, we checked in and went to our room, and I immediately went back downstairs to ask if we could get a refund and leave because the room was disgusting, smelled like mildew, and didn't have a working lock, but we were told that would not be possible so we sadly decided to stay versus losing all the money we paid. We were instead allowed to move to another room which we were glad to be offered, but unfortunately it was barely any better. The two main problems with this hotel were that nothing looked like it had been cleaned in a very, very, long time, and the humidity in the room was so high that the carpet was wet to walk on and everything in the room was wet and sticky. It also smelled strongly of mold and urine. It only took about 15 minutes for any of my belongings to also become wet and sticky, including the insides of my shoes. The rooms literally look NOTHING like the images shown, which are bright and clean. There was a ton of hair in the sink. The carpet was very dirty and stained. The walls had marks and stains in every color you can imagine. Tons of mold in the bathroom. Every time you wanted to watch TV, you had to go through a long process to get it to work because they didn't have it set up correctly. The was no sound proofing between the rooms and the hallway, and it was very loud and easy to hear others. The bed was equivalent to sleeping on a floor and the pillows looked like they'd been cut in half and one of them had brown stains all over it. The pull out sofa bed was COVERED in brown stains. The door had huge gaps in it so when you would try to go to sleep at night, all the light from the hallway shines right in your face through the 1 inch cracks. The breakfast offered was extremely mediocre so we got food elsewhere. There was more, but I think the point has been made. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, ever, and if this was the only option, I would sleep in my car.

I found this hotel by asking Grok to recommend one in the safer part of Metairie, and indeed this looks like a decent neighborhood, run down in the way that a lot of NO is but not sketchy. There are a few restaurants and coffee shops within easy walking distance. It's Homewood Suites, so of course the rooms are large and include a kitchen, the hotel is well-maintained, and service was good. The first night we arrived, they had an evening wine and snack arrangement in the common area that was delightful. I got the gumbo soup and it was surprisingly good. But apparently that was just something they have once a week, because the next night it was gone. Breakfast was disappointing, but fortunately the Whole Foods across the street has a nice breakfast bar.

We just checked out of the Hampton Inn on Severn in Metairie Louisiana…read more We are HGVC owners and Gold HH. I can honestly say this should not call itself a Hilton product. There was so much that made this stay sad and disgusting. We had a family reunion at the Homewood Suites a couple miles away. We should have stayed there. It was immaculate and well managed. Our stay started with our checked in rooms at 3:25 we're not ready. We had two rooms for 3 nights. I was told she could put my son, daughter and grandson in a room but the doors sticks. I figured that would be ok. She had room for us but 4 levels from the kids. We had to unload a car full from the car of items for the reunion and had driver 7 hours so we took it. We unloaded and left the room to bring the other items to the meeting room at Homewood for the reunion. Shortly after my son arrived. I met him with the key. We got to the room with the sticking door. My son scanned and went to open it. It literally dropped down and hung. The top hinge had stripped screws and the hinge was not holding the door. I went down and told them it doesn't stick it's not attached. She then had another room cleaned. I told her the requested crib was not in that room to please send one to the new room. Now it's time to shower for reunion so I returned to our room. I'm in the shower and look up and see a ceiling full of mold. The bath had no vent so it was very musty and moldy. After I was done I asked for another room. I did not need to get sick from mold. Below you will see pictures of the crib they sent, the disgusting shower floor in the old room and the bed room, the mold, the disgusting pool, the mildewed entry mats, the plants sling the courtyard and the window by the breakfast buffet. It's disgusting and unexceptionable. I can't believe the points they charged for this. I would like someone to follow up with me. One last thing: upon getting into the elevator to check out the house keeping young lady told us you know how many rooms I have today? My daughter said how many. She said 28 and I can't go home till they're done. So calculate that. How many minutes can she spend cleaning the rooms. How through of a job will be done!!!

Now to the Cons: We received the keys to our 1st room...yes I said 1st room....are we tracking? Ok, Once we arrive to the floor, we instantly see tape repair to multiple areas in the hallway carpet. Once we get into our double room, we don't immediately notice any issues until we start getting ready to go out. We discover the sink faucet starting to leak constantly. By day 2, I decide to go ahead & report because this is a business & repair is necessary to keep rooms available, right? Upon reporting, the maintenance gentleman makes us aware that it can't be fully repaired, parts aren't available, therefore 2 choices; stay in room with leaky faucet or move rooms (my friend elects to stay in room to avoid moving all her stuff). Maintenance then tells us about 30 mins later that now we have to move rooms because we no longer have hot water, secondary to the faucet change attempt. We then get to the front desk for room change. Per manager, no discount on the room pricing however, we were provided Dining vouchers, $25 each, for the 3 of us (up to $75 total). Ok fine! Now we get to our 2nd room, which is a little larger, corner room BUT, the shower faucet now has the same issue. At least it's spewing into the tub sooooo, I noticed the desk manager, as awareness, apology was received, No, we didn't change rooms again. Why? that room probably has a leak too. we're over it at this point. Dining: The next morning, we go to breakfast with the family & use our vouchers. Large open dining, plenty of seating, bar doesn't open until 4p so, no mimosas to ease the pain of our encounters up to this point. Being that we're in New Orleans, I expected a "wow factor" from the cooks but in reality, we got a bit of "fear factor". The great thing is, the waitress remained nice & attentive to our large party. We appreciate you Ms Shelly.
