I found this hotel by asking Grok to recommend one in the safer part of Metairie, and indeed this looks like a decent neighborhood, run down in the way that a lot of NO is but not sketchy. There are a few restaurants and coffee shops within easy walking distance. It's Homewood Suites, so of course the rooms are large and include a kitchen, the hotel is well-maintained, and service was good. The first night we arrived, they had an evening wine and snack arrangement in the common area that was delightful. I got the gumbo soup and it was surprisingly good. But apparently that was just something they have once a week, because the next night it was gone. Breakfast was disappointing, but fortunately the Whole Foods across the street has a nice breakfast bar.

There was no difference in my room, it was clean and I had no issues. The breakfast buffet was different, while it had the items of a continental breakfast, there were also fried potatoes, tortillas, and a choice of pulled chicken or steak. The noise level was basically nonexistent but there were a few guest who lingered outside smoking and playing music in cars. Would definitely stay again.

One said the shower head was working properly and another said the door to the bathroom came off the hinges. We didn't have these issues ourselves, and the stay (4 nights) was reasonably priced and comfortable. We had two queen beds, both comfortable enough. It was clean and welcoming. Plenty of space to place the luggage and all the many items we kept buying, the shopping bags were stacked on the writing table. The shower was big, had two sliding doors, it fit my wife and I both when we wanted to help each other out due to her back issues. The biggest issue, and it's minimal, is the faucet at the sink. It's set on the upper right side, and it's so short it really doesn't give enough clearance to wash your hands properly. This is just a poor design and makes it very inconvenient. With the Hilton Honors membership, this location does give access to the keyless entry through the app. It works really well. We used it instead of the keys. Breakfast is complimentary. They have hot and cold items. Always some form of eggs, usually omelet style, plenty of kielbasa type sausage, one day they did bacon and it was good. Staff was always pleasant to us. We needed extra pillows and blankets and they were so accommodating. Our stay was good. We didn't have any loud noises like other hotels. It's in a great location, across from a really nice mall, in a cleaner part of town, about 10 minutes away from the French Quarter. It is close to Lake Ponchetrane. If you get a chance, drive the road the parallels the lake, it's a beautiful drive.

We just checked out of the Hampton Inn on Severn in Metairie Louisiana…read more We are HGVC owners and Gold HH. I can honestly say this should not call itself a Hilton product. There was so much that made this stay sad and disgusting. We had a family reunion at the Homewood Suites a couple miles away. We should have stayed there. It was immaculate and well managed. Our stay started with our checked in rooms at 3:25 we're not ready. We had two rooms for 3 nights. I was told she could put my son, daughter and grandson in a room but the doors sticks. I figured that would be ok. She had room for us but 4 levels from the kids. We had to unload a car full from the car of items for the reunion and had driver 7 hours so we took it. We unloaded and left the room to bring the other items to the meeting room at Homewood for the reunion. Shortly after my son arrived. I met him with the key. We got to the room with the sticking door. My son scanned and went to open it. It literally dropped down and hung. The top hinge had stripped screws and the hinge was not holding the door. I went down and told them it doesn't stick it's not attached. She then had another room cleaned. I told her the requested crib was not in that room to please send one to the new room. Now it's time to shower for reunion so I returned to our room. I'm in the shower and look up and see a ceiling full of mold. The bath had no vent so it was very musty and moldy. After I was done I asked for another room. I did not need to get sick from mold. Below you will see pictures of the crib they sent, the disgusting shower floor in the old room and the bed room, the mold, the disgusting pool, the mildewed entry mats, the plants sling the courtyard and the window by the breakfast buffet. It's disgusting and unexceptionable. I can't believe the points they charged for this. I would like someone to follow up with me. One last thing: upon getting into the elevator to check out the house keeping young lady told us you know how many rooms I have today? My daughter said how many. She said 28 and I can't go home till they're done. So calculate that. How many minutes can she spend cleaning the rooms. How through of a job will be done!!!

It was pricy but I feel like it was a must when traveling across the country with your whole family for a week. They kitchen had everything you needed except for dish detergent. It costs $1.50 to wash and $1.50 to dry your clothes in the laundry room. It only takes 30 min to wash and 30 min to dry. I booked through the Marriott app and must have requested a quiet room on a top floor bc that is exactly what I got- thank god. It felt like we were in our own tiny house bc we didn't hear anyone else at the hotel from our room. The complimentary breakfast was different every day. First day was bacon and eggs, second day was eggs with biscuits and gravy, another was eggs and sausage and the last day they had spinach quiche and some kind of cheesy soufflé maybe? They only had fresh fruit some days. Anyhow, this location was close to the freeway and close to Drago's and Acme!

I found the staff to be polite and helpful, my room to be clean, bed to be comfy, shower water to be hot, adequate lighting in the bathroom, and plenty of towels with shampoo and hair dryer provided, along with a refrigerator. A couple notes: 1) Be aware that they only change linens/towels every third day but there is a note saying you can request clean linens/towels at the desk. 2) There is extra parking in the lot across the street. Now to the Cons: We received the keys to our 1st room...yes I said 1st room....are we tracking? Ok, Once we arrive to the floor, we instantly see tape repair to multiple areas in the hallway carpet. Once we get into our double room, we don't immediately notice any issues until we start getting ready to go out. We discover the sink faucet starting to leak constantly. By day 2, I decide to go ahead & report because this is a business & repair is necessary to keep rooms available, right? Upon reporting, the maintenance gentleman makes us aware that it can't be fully repaired, parts aren't available, therefore 2 choices; stay in room with leaky faucet or move rooms (my friend elects to stay in room to avoid moving all her stuff). Maintenance then tells us about 30 mins later that now we have to move rooms because we no longer have hot water, secondary to the faucet change attempt. We then get to the front desk for room change. Per manager, no discount on the room pricing however, we were provided Dining vouchers, $25 each, for the 3 of us (up to $75 total). Ok fine! Now we get to our 2nd room, which is a little larger, corner room BUT, the shower faucet now has the same issue. At least it's spewing into the tub sooooo, I noticed the desk manager, as awareness, apology was received, No, we didn't change rooms again. Why? that room probably has a leak too. we're over it at this point. Dining: The next morning, we go to breakfast with the family & use our vouchers. Large open dining, plenty of seating, bar doesn't open until 4p so, no mimosas to ease the pain of our encounters up to this point. Being that we're in New Orleans, I expected a "wow factor" from the cooks but in reality, we got a bit of "fear factor". Let me just say that I wasn't expecting "sliced cheese" to be in an omelet or on scrambled eggs, nor expected sausage links to be in a croissant breakfast sandwich. what happened here? Who knows. The great thing is, the waitress remained nice & attentive to our large party. We appreciate you Ms Shelly. Overall, hotel updates, food quality & better customer satisfaction is warranted here; esp for those visiting with longer stays. More is expected from a Marriott to remain marketable. We were simply looking for something close to the airport because our flight was delayed so we needed a place for an extra night. While close to the airport, it isn't close to where we thought we'd be coming from or where we had to get back to. It's really a neither here nor there but I don't see anything significant about this location. The bed was pretty comfortable overall. The fan / AC in the room was noisy which kept me up probably the most but it was bearable not to complain about it. The liquid soap was nice (not watered down), and the room was quiet aside from a couple door slams. It's a nice room and interior but not really what we needed. I've stayed at Home2 in the past but I do not remember the apartment-like amenities. One thing I found odd was the bathroom door. If you were using the bathroom, you couldn't open the door from the outside to walk in (as couples do). The door slammed into my legs. It was a big door. Let me start out by saying that I have been a loyalty rewards member for over 11 years…read more I checked in at Courtyard by Marriott New Orleans/Metairie the evening of Tuesday April 7th where Renee was attending the front desk. I was not asked if I was a member during that check-in. On the afternoon/evening of April 9th I went to the front desk to ask for some bodywash as I ran out the night before. I had hoped that housekeeping would have replaced in during their visit to my room but that was not the case. I brough this issue to Autumn who said that she would look into the matter. When I returned to the room, I noticed that there were ants crawling on the desk. Needless to say, that I was appalled and began to feel unsafe. I took the following actions: At about 7:33pm I Spoke with Autumn about Ants in the room I asked to be switched to another room after they said that they would send someone to exterminate the room. I did not feel safe staying in a room that was just sprayed with pesticides. I asked for a comp night, and Autumn said that she could not authorize that and the General Manager would have to authorize. Autumn said that there were no other suites available, so they put me in a king room (609). Autumn said that the General Manager did not come in until 9:00am Friday 4/10 but she would email him about the issue. I went to that room (609) and put up my clothes. I returned at 7:58pm and Autumn was leaving; I then asked Renee if she heard from the General Manager and she went to get the Assistant General Manager who I was told was not in at the time by Autumn earlier that evening. I explained what had happened. The Assistant General Manager asked me if I had photos. She also asked me if I was a Marriott Rewards member. She then said that she would put me in a King Suite (204) that was supposedly not available based on what Autumn told me. She said that room (609) costs more than room 504 because the longer that you stay in the room the less that it costs. I asked the Assistant General Manager if there is anything that could be offered to me for my troubles and finding ants in my room. I tried to work with the staff to rectify the matter, However, unfortunately I ended up being very disappointed in what I experienced was not the Marriott Brand that I have been used to over the years. I spoke to the General Manager upon checkout and he could not be more condescending. I will not be staying at this location ever again. I also suggest that no one stays at this location either. If I could give less than a one-star rating I would!!!
