This hotel definitely held up to that standard of excellence as well!! Visiting from out of town, we stayed for the weekend for a personal mater, while also finding a little time to explore the local area (which is quite charming). The complimentary breakfast was appropriate for location- offering waffles, breakfast sandwiches, cereal, fruit, muffins, and various popular kids options. We were aiming for an early morning checkout Sun a.m. (due to a bit of a drive). After being on the road for about 20min, I realized I had accidentally left a very important item. Immediately called. The front desk worker (Matt) responded swiftly & even relayed the information to the head of house keeping "AH" (April I believe was her name). Upon returning to the hotel, to my relief my item was waiting for me at the front desk Overall a very nice & quant stay at this location. We enjoyed the fireplace (super easy to turn on and off with a light-switch) and couldn't believe how much heat it put out. The kitchen was stocked with basic cooking essentials and dishes for two. The only downside was the miscommunication with our checkout. We payed for a late checkout, but apparently the office didn't communicate that to housekeeping. The office left me a voicemail saying they didn't have record of the late checkout, I returned the call and confirmed that we did pay extra for that, and then shortly after housekeeping showed up and we had to also tell them that we had a late checkout. Kind of took us out of our getaway bubble, but overall a really nice vacation experience.

You could also hear people talking in the room next to us. You hear almost everything going on outside and the windows by the door let in a lot of light. We woke up every day at 5am to the salt trucks scraping right outside our room. The beds were clean which we appreciate. Overall a good place to stay but I wish we came in the summer or another time.

Every person I encountered was kind and helpful. When I needed to extend my stay by a night while there for a family emergency, they made the process easy and painless during a time when everything else felt daunting or complicated. They even ensured I got the same room rate despite having to change room types. Kimberlie recognized me from a previous visit on my recent stay and stopped by my table during breakfast to say hello. Despite being in Canton for challenging reasons, the staff here have continued to make the SpringHill Suites a comfortable, easy part of my stays. As of December 2025, the hotel is undergoing renovations or updates, but they've minimized disruption by strategically using rooms away from the current work.

But please note there's no sidewalks on some of the nearby streets so if you are planning to walk, this is not a good location for that even though on the map things look very walkable.

They made us feel like family or like new good friends! Their hospitality is excellent! From the moment we walked in, Sue greeted us with a warm and friendly smile and made us feel welcomed. Larry is also very friendly and made us feel at home. That's nice because my wife said from now on when we come up to Amish Country, this is our home and this is where she wants us to stay. We stayed in the French Country room which was so big and spacious and has a private balcony to enjoy the peace and quiet of the area. The king size bed was very comfortable to sleep in. It has a private bathroom with a jacuzzi tub in it. The only thing we didn't like or feel too comfortable with, was the bathroom door. It's a sliding door that doesn't completely close and give you privacy when you're going to use the bathroom. But, it's not a big deal because the rest of the room was beautiful and spacious. From the moment we walked into our room, my wife couldn't believe how beautiful the room looked and told me I did a great job picking out this room. (I redeemed myself from the last place I picked out for us to stay at which was a terrible B & B in Bucyrus that we'll never go back to). Larry & Sue fixed us a great breakfast the next morning. Before we ate, Larry said grace with us thanking God for the food and all of God's blessings on us which we thought was amazing and we were so glad that Larry did that, since my wife and I have always prayed together over our meals and give thanks and together every night before we say good night, we pray together. We had pumpkin pancakes that were so good, we ended up going and buying some of the pumpkin pancake mix at this nice little country store Sue told us about called Ashery's. It was such a yummy and satisfying breakfast, that we were full all day until we had dinner at Berlin Farmstead (see my review on that place too).
