Getting in touch with Dr Martha H. Hagaman is impossible. She doesn't offer explanations of the treatment, suggestions, and her go-to is always "we need to get you in for another sleep study". The BiPap didn't work for me, the prescription was off and getting a note for my insurance was next to impossible. Awful. I'm done and going elsewhere. read more

I had an at home sleep study in FEBRUARY 2023. Results indicated sleep apnea. They called and told me they were going to submit to my insurance for prior approval for an in lab sleep study. They didn't. First time I called to see if they submitted it to insurance, the girl put me on a "brief" hold for 40 minutes. Never came back. Every time I have tried to call them after that, all you get is voice-mail with no call back. This place is a joke. All of this process started in October 2022 with no resolve. read more

The staff here are really helpful and considerate, which is amazing since they deal with sleep deprived patients like me. They have good bed side manner and answer questions and spend time with you. I recently had an overnight sleep study; with the sleep number bed, private bathroom/shower, and attentive and considerate tech/staff I felt like I was stay at a nice hotel versus a clinical study office. Parking on the street is kind of a pain, so take transit or if you can afford use the attached parking garage (prices cheaper than what you normally find for downtown). read more

Not a fan of Swedish Sleep Medicine. They didn't' get the job done so I had to try a different Sleep Disorders Center. My experience is below. First appointment was scheduled for 2/17. The week of the appointment I was told the Dr wasn't available and I needed to reschedule, not a big issue as things happen. They told me that they are very busy and next opening they had was on 3/24. I was a little annoyed that I had to wait over a month for another appointment but again not a big issue. I meet with Dr Sapieha on 3/24 that was very nice and recommended a take home sleep study. I did the study and followed the direction to a T since I heard the receptionist that day on the phone with return call after call telling people the take home study came back as it didn't work (more on this later). To my lack of a surprise I got a call back about a week later that the take home sleep study didn't work and I would need to do an overnight sleep study and the earliest date they had was 4/30. To writing of this review I still have no idea what the results are from the take home sleep study. I arrived on 4/30 for the overnight sleep study and was told they gave my bed away and won't be able to take the study. At this point I felt like this thing is a fraud. They said they called me to inform me (I never got a call) on top of this I got an email from them that week to confirm the appointment and it still showed on my online chart. The reason they gave was my insurance was "pending" for the appointment but couldn't tell me anymore than that. I asked him about the home sleep study and the Swedish employee said they mostly don't work but insurances require them to be done first. I was told I would get a call in the morning but that never happened. I called back on 5/1 and explained the summary of my experience and was asked if I wanted to talk to a manager. I said sure, happy to give some feedback but then I was told she was in a meeting and couldn't talk. Overall I think Swedish Sleep Medicine is a joke and hope it was just an off day for them. It would be great to hear if the home sleep study works for anybody or if it's just a scam. Had an apnea episode in the recovery room after back surgery, so my pulmonary doc referred me for a sleep study. Referral was sent through online in Feb. I got a call the end of July from someone in Swedish Sleep Medicine about scheduling me for one of their next openings - in October!! Fortunately, when nothing had happened with my referral by the end of March, I contacted my Dr.'s office and asked that they send my referral through to the Polyclinic. I was called within 2 weeks and scheduled with the doctor of my choice in mid-May. Totally different experience from Sleep Med Associates - would never even consider going back to them! read more

My primary care physician sent me here after years of insomnia issues. My first appointment was to go over history and chat with the doctor. We decided on a sleep study so I came back and spent the night. The room was lovely, had a TV, its own bathroom and a nice hotel (not hospital) feel. My technician (I believe her name was Linda) was wonderful, friendly and attentive. My doctor is knowledgeable & friendly. A great experience here. A note of warning: Have AWESOME insurance when you come here. My bill was 4K, thankfully I was only liable for 10%. read more

I have had a MISERABLE time dealing with these folks. Their office seems terribly disorganized. I had to cancel an appt because I was was dealing with a major health problem that came on suddenly. We rescheduled. Then they left me a msg last night, moving up my appt two hours earlier in the morning and changing my doctor. They cited that they messed up with the scheduling and scheduled me for the wrong kind of appt. I didn't get the msg and was penalized for missing the appointment. I was told two strikes and you are out with this dr (Dr Stolz) - although no one told me about this policy and their website says nothing of this. I tried to explain the circumstances to the person I spoke with on the phone and she wouldn't listen to me. I am so angry and upset about this. Health care is hard enough to deal with, without having to deal with jerks like this. I went through all this preparation for this appt - filled out all these online questionaires, as well as hard copy forms. I've had more than my share of dealing with doctors and the healthcare industry and I am absolutely appalled at how they treated me. I expect so much more from Swedish. I wish I could give them negative stars. read more

These folks were great. When it comes to medicos, I tend to use them a lot less than the average person. But I am a big believer is sleep being the basis for a lot of ones well being in life. I think they did a great job with me. The staff is very friendly, the technicians are knowledgable, and the results are very useful. I've been using a CPAP machine since I went here, and it has made a huge improvement in my life. Thanks Lisa D. for the info about the bill - mine also covers 90% but I'm a little surprised how big it is. That said - sleeping well is priceless, so I really don't begrudge them for having to charge what they do. It's worth it. Definitely CHECK WITH YOUR INSURANCE before you go. And then, even if your insurance isn't awesome, just make it happen to go anyways. I could have used this about 5 years ago, and it probably would have made a huge difference in my life. read more

After my surgery with Dr. Knapp at Swedish Hospital, I decided to do my follow-up sleep studies with Swedish as well. (See my less-than-happy review of Harborview Sleep Clinic.) Appointments are much easier to get, but like Harborview, they're more likely to be with a PA or NP. The PA I saw was incredibly on top of things and well informed, so I didn't miss that I wasn't seeing an MD. You're also required to fill out quite a comprehensive survey of your sleep habits and problems -- conveniently online. Sleep study appointments are also easier to schedule. You can also go home with equipment that does a screening for sleep apnea. It's a quick yes/no test, but won't give you any details. The techs are friendly and efficient, no real difference there from Harborview. Best part: If you're a late-shifted sleeper that's fine. You can go to sleep when you usually do, and wake up when you usually do. That makes a lot more sense to me than trying to cram in your usual sleep time in the 11pm to 6am window Harborview requires. If you're a 2am to 9 am sleeper, that's 3 hours they never see, and 3 hours you're just wasting in bed. So if your insurance will cover it -- go with Sleep Medicine Associates! read more

I wasn't going to write a review because I wanted to put this awful sleep study experience behind me. I'm sharing my ordeal now, hoping that it's helpful. Perhaps you'll be a better advocate for yourself than I was. In January 2017 I was a patient for a sleep study at the Cherry Hill location, being wired up and observed while sleeping. Although I had arrived at the sleep clinic at 7:45pm, I waited for about 30 minutes then was assigned to relatively inexperienced technician. After a brief introduction I was left alone in the room, not "wired up" until some time after 10:30pm. Since the wiring process takes about an hour and they needed me in bed for 6 hours, I was told I had to go to sleep immediately, even scolded when I reached for my Kindle. Not a nice way to be treated when in a vulnerable position! The wiring and abrupt bedtime was stress-inducing and I found it difficult to sleep (tight wires behind my ears that were quite painful didn't help either). Subsequently, the technician I started with was sent home due to a patient cancellation (patient to technician ratio issue) and I was introduced to another technician. Nothing about this wiring and abrupt transition was comfortable or compatible with restful sleep. The more experienced technician loosened the tight wires that were hurting behind my ears when I pushed the button. I continued to have trouble falling asleep which unfortunately made my results less helpful (No REM sleep). In addition, three days after the study, I had developed a raised rash/welts on my neck and side of my face - a severe allergic reaction to the tape that was used. I needed be seen and treated by my own doctor for this and was prescribed a a steroid/cortisone crème. We spent nearly $5K on the sleep study experience which I found stressful, upsetting and not very helpful. I hope no one else has my experience. I would have given this a review one star but Ms. Sharma is very nice, knowledgeable and was quite empathetic. I never met with Dr. Stolz although she wrote the report. read more

The technician I had was great. I want to say his name was brian. Dr Stolz was pretty good when we had my first visit where we went over history. The facility was amazing. The Temperpudic bed was way nicer than the bed I have at home. The room was painted nice and they even had pictures hanging on the walls. A TV, desk, and chair even furnished the room. For those of us who had stuff to do in the morning they even had a bathroom fully equiped with a shower. My dad had one done not long ago and he said all that was in the room was a bed and the monitoring machine. Now you may ask why this review is just A-OK. Well like others I had scheduling issues. My first appointment went off without a hitch. Then I couldn't get an appointment for over a month. I selected the first appointment I could get. That day roles around, I leave my apartment, bag in hand and headphones on. I walk the 40 minute walk to the sleep clinic. When I call to ask exactly how to get in their after hours a technician answers (mind you is 7:45, the time I was asked to show up) and her response is who is this. After I tell her who I am she goes "Oh Ian, we were just about to call you, we cancelled your appointment because our technician didn't show up. Someone will call to reschedule." Two weeks later, still no call. I go ahead and call them. The next available appointment was weeks later. In between that time and the new appointment they also called me to reschedule the follow up after we had set a date for a month after the test. They said something was wrong with their scheduling system and the doctor would not be available. If I wanted my results within a couple of months I would have to see the physicians assistant. Not something I was too happy with from past experience with P.A.'s at doctors offices. We will see what happens from there. read more

It will take you 3 months (literally- not an exaggeration) to get in, if you are an existing patient, even if it is an urgent issue. Why they don't hire more staff or figure out how to get patients in in a reasonable amount of time, I do not know... But it's hella frustrating. read more

This place is ridiculous when it comes to scheduling. Their next availability is 3 months out, and if you're 10 minutes late, they cancel your appointment and require you to schedule at next availability (another 3 months out). read more

They canceled my appointment (my insurance requires I see her within a certain time period). After they canceled, they made NO effort to reschedule at a time that was within my insurances required time frame. I would avoid these guys. They need a lesson in customer service. Avoid! read more

I went to the Swedish Sleep Center at Northwest Hospital to have a consultation with Dr. Stolz about my disruptive night sleeping and daytime sleepiness that I have been suffering with for 16 years. I had to wait 4 months for my appointment. I found Dr. Stolz quite invalidating. She said that since I obviously don't have sleep apnea she couldn't help me. She contributes my sleep problems to "my mental health problems" (anxiety and depression which are being monitored and are not significant at this time). She suggested various ways to improve my sleep hygiene, all of which I know well as I assume most people do. She suggested CBT for sleep (which I have already tried before, unsuccessfully) but said that it requires weekly monitoring and that was not something their clinic could accommodate since appointments are booked 4 months out. Basically I left frustrated and feeling a bit hopeless. read more

I was very happy with the services provided at the Swedish Sleep Medicine Center. My initial meeting with Dr. Darius Zoroufy was great. He provided some insight into why I wake up all the time. Next, I was booked for an appointment for a 23-hour sleep study at the Cherry Hill location. After that I received helpful information to prepare and start doing my 10 days of sleep logs. I could tell they were on top of things. After all this is science and medicine at it's best. We (the patients) benefit from their knowledge and experience, so following their lead and doing what we are told to do is a very good idea for anyone who wants to get help. Once I arrived at the Sleep Center, I felt more like I was at a spa/hotel than going for a procedure. Everyone was overly kind and most important - experienced with what they were doing. I used to work in technical environments, so I tend to ask questions out of curiosity and also I am a little geeky. They were more than willing to indulge me in details. Oh my! I was also offered helpful tips to get through the 23 hour procedure. It is not frightening. It's actually kinda fun. They had caffeine-free teas, snacks, juices and filtered water to keep me happy. On Day 2 of the study, I ate a healthy breakfast as well as lunch upstairs in the fabulous Swedish Dining Room. Yummmm. And, even though I had "lots of wires & stuff" on my head, I was greeted with smiles and words of comfort from staff and other patients. (One person in the dining hall greeted me and said he had the procedure before. He said it was helpful as he had stopped breathing while sleeping. This is not a small thing to find out!) My overnight sleep was restless, I woke up 5-7 times and my technician, AJ, was always there for me. This is how I am at home so I am very glad I had just as difficult time there. They could see it. And study it. Aaron was my tech and helped me get through 4 daytime naps the following day. I was less restless and although I don't recall falling asleep, the tech was very helpful in gently waking me up. How's that for service! I am sure they deal with grouchy, sleep-deprived folks all the time so their kindness was greatly appreciated. They were able to obtain the data they needed and send me home 1- 1/2 hour early. I watched HGTV in between naps. I checked my email on my laptop. I called my husband a few times. I believe these folks know what they are doing and other than not having a box of Kleenex in my room, they nailed everything else. So glad they are there for us. read more

I have been a patient at the sleep institute for years and they have been wonderful. They have gone the extra mile for me and getting me my medication and my doctor has always been amazing. Their office is not disorganized, I've never had an issue and at one point I was visiting at least once a month for medication checkups. I am guessing Leslie S is just upset that her flakiness was punished. read more
