By our third session with coach Amanda's guidance he had the slat mill figured out and was reaching top speeds! He loves the pool and the outdoor space as well, and is extra happy when we bring one of his friends. Having access to Sho Gun's to fulfil his mental and physical needs over the last three months has noticeably reduced his overall anxiety. It was good until it wasn't. After years of going to Sleep Rover with 3 dogs in total, we ran into a few issues. First, my pup was bleeding, raw and had scratched nipples after a grooming. After calling my vet, I inquired and sent pictures to SR given my pup was in distress. Joyce responded, not the groomer, whose name I don't even know, have never met and have never seen any information about on their website, by emailing me, stating that it must be from the grass or irritants in the air or that my dog must have scratched herself. She took no accountability. Second, was an unfiltered negative comment about a certain medication that my dog was on that was prescribed by an allergy specialist. Third, was my dog being kept in a private room for over an hour by herself because Karin said she needed "space". Not that I have an issue with my dog needing space, it's the accusation from Joyce that she doesn't isolate the dogs. I was specifically told she was isolated. Fourth, my (2) dogs are more "people" dogs than "dog" dogs even though they have been to SR MULTIPLE times for years as I travel often. I rarely see my pups on the Instagram stories partially because they are shy and don't like cameras in their face but also because you often only see the dogs who are playing and who are the life of the party (or because the camera moves way too fast and you can't see anything anyways). When I receive the report cards, they are "cute" but tell very little of how they actually are. I've asked the ladies at the front what does "being so silly" on the report cards mean? How did they do? Did they make any friends? I am told they don't know so it's quite frustrating to feel like I know nothing of the stay at SR. This also worried me because when I went to pick up my pups a few months ago, the girl at the front said she forgot to notify me, but my one pup vomited in her crate. She took pictures and sent them to me after I was already home. The energy is, hurry and pay, get your dogs and go! Joyce told me in our last communication that I needed to bring my dogs in at least once a week as that was the reason they were shy as well as because that was their new policy as of 2020 in order to be approved for overnights. The email that all members received was for once a month - not a week - it also states once a month on their website. I travel often enough that a weekly drop off is not a reasonable ask IMO, so some months, it's just not feasible. I have also spent tens of thousands of dollars at SR. It has never been brought up to me that their current stays were still not enough. Fifth, my one dog came home in December with a missing paw nail! It was very raw and before contacting SR I searched my car to see if it had happened on the way home. There was zero evidence of this, so I called and sent pictures to SR to see if they knew anything about it. They had no information, so I considered it a freak accident. Sixth, was this last week I came home from a vacation and the amount of food and treats left over was way too much especially given they recorded that they ate all their meals. I always leave an extra day of food just in case and I also leave their own "1 cup" food scoop in with their food. Joyce told me that they instead use a basic one cup measuring utensil that when measured against my scoop, is missing almost half a cup for each feeding. This has happened a few times but is often inconsistent. She also just told me that in my dogs notes it says to NOT give my one of my dogs treats and my other one may only receive two treats. What human on earth would ever say to not give their dog treats? The only note that should be in there is that she can't have chicken. So, if there was a treat with chicken then that would apply. I have spoken to the girls at the front often about giving them treats especially after their meals because we call it their dessert and it's something they have come to expect. The treats are the tiny, dried beef and so for two big dogs, two would be an absolute joke - and zero-unfathomable. The last item I will mention, is Joyce had the AUDACICTY to say that my complaints are without merit. I have proof, pictures and all the receipts to validate my concerns. I have never accused, or blamed any of the staff of anything but I do have the right to inquire about the safety and wellbeing of my dogs. I'm not saying Joyce is a bad person or doesn't love or take care of the dogs at SR, but I am saying she has never once taken accountability or apologized for anything that I have brought to her attention. She is extremely defensive, and I believe has failed my dogs. This is just my experience but after her accusations that my concerns were without merit, there was no way I was going to let these issues not come to light. My dogs are everything and I trusted SR. Trust is completely broken, and I will be taking my pups elsewhere. read more

Joyce and the team at Sleep Rover are wonderful, professional and knowledgeable. We've only been taking Rupert there for a few months but it's such a relief for us, knowing he's going to be well socialized and exercised. We live on an acreage so I wanted him to be socialized well - so he'll be good with other dogs and our grandkids. The staff has been great and I really like their system - we get a virtual report card at the end of every day he's there, and an email notification after his reservation has been accepted. Their hours are extremely reasonable and they really care about their dogs! Why do I love Sleep Rover so much? Because not only are they wonderful in every way, but there is nothing better than a dead dog on a Wednesday night after a long day of work among many many many other reasons. Sleep Rover offers day care and sleep rovers, both of which we have used. Before we brought our dogs there for the first time, I went in and asked for a tour. I have been to other facilities in town who don't seem as open to this. The friendly girls at Sleep Rover answered all of my questions. One of my most important ones was if there is anyone there overnight. And there is! You may think this would always be the case, but it's not at other places in town. For me, I want the security of knowing there are people around my lemon dog, and not just a security guard watching on a cctv from another location (another place in Calgary). At Sleep Rover they have the hound lounge - filled with couches, doggy beds, and a tv, making it just like home. This is where our dog get's the most of his play-time though. Big dogs have their own area, with a big jungle-gym type thing for them to run, climb, and play on. Small dogs have a miniature version. All dogs rotate outside where there's the huge gravel pit, more ramps and things to climb, or where they can soak up the sun. In the summer they have pool days just like we have at home. Overall a very interactive daycare area compared to others in town. Rover's birthday? Let them know. They get a "Birthday Pawrty" with cupcake during the day, and a card to go home with. - See pics! At the end of the day we get cute little cards saying what our boys did that day. Need to update their vaccination records? Sleep Rover puts a sticker on there to remind you. What do you do with those cards afterwards? Cut out the 'V.I.D.' pass and put it in the raffle box next time you're there to win great prizes. Need some food? They sell good quality brands. Anyone who knows me knows I am extremely careful about what we feed our dogs. They stay up to date on the products they sell and always keep customers posted. Need anything else? I mean ANYTHING... grooming? dog bed? collar? tag? lumberjack vest? frozen yogurt for your pooch? poop bags? Get it here. I think I spend more money on stuff for our dogs than I do myself. I think my cheapest bill here was $100. That has nothing to do with the prices, it's just that they carry cute, fun, awesome, different things that you don't find anywhere else (and I am a bit of an impulse shopper). What is the best part about the next day? I'm not sure if it's the still tired dog, or if it's scrolling through the hundreds of photos they post on facebook. Yes, every day they take hundreds of pics and post them late at night so you can see what your dog was up to all day. Prices are the best we have found in town for 2 dogs. Just need to say how very happy we are with Sleeprover and how well our little Sadie Mae is looked after when we drop her for doggy daycare! We're always met with such a friendly & personal hello and Sadie could not possibly wiggle her little self any more, in a sign of pure happiness to be there! Watching her through the videos posted on IG through the day is so much fun and a comfort to have the opportunity to check in on her. She has made so many friends and although we get her out everyday to dog park, it's great for her to have the concentrated time to truly learn how to get along with others, be loved and generally just have a great time. She always comes home completely tuckered out and yes, slips into that renowned 'Sleeprover Coma'! So, along with knowing she's had a happy day, it's another bonus to have some quiet time...Puppies are a lot of work! Although we're relatively new to the Sleeprover family, we are completely comfortable and happy with the care she receives. Everyone knows how much I love my pup, Lilo. I dote on her a lot, so when I was looking for a place for overnight care for her while I was on vacation I started to get a bit of anxiety. How do I know if she eats? Will she get enough snuggles? Will she sleep? How will she do and how will I know? But, Sleep Rover eased my self induced stress and I am so happy I found a care facility I can trust. They posted lots of pictures daily, in addition to report cards (cutely written as if from Lilo's perspective) and a food log. My anxiety was suppressed when I went to pick her up and all the caregivers gushed about Lilo and I knew she adapted well. I love that they don't kennel her all day, and she got to snooze away on the couches (and probably laps of the caregivers) like she does at home. Dogs happiness and wellbeing are clearly SR's priorities and I'm grateful for that. They will be our continued choice for future stays. read more

We love Sleep Rover! We've had our senior pup Jake stay with them a few times now, generally for 1-2 weeks at a time. I love that they post lots of pics on Instagram and Facebook so I can see how he's doing, and they send a daily report card as well. Jake is an older dog, so I'm sometimes nervous leaving him at a kennel, but I know he's in good hands at Sleep Rover. Their staff is so friendly and caring - you can see immediately that everyone loves animals! I love this place and the girls that work here. I've only dropped my dog off for a trial day before our upcoming trip but I've never seen him so exhausted and happy! When I got him I could tell he had been playing all day with the drool on his head and the exhausted look of him. I absolutely love that they take pictures every day and post them on their Facebook page too so you can check out the great time your dog had. Will definitely be checking in on Facebook to see what my pooch is up to when I'm away :) great place but book early, they fill up! And I really love that they have a free trial day- means that they know the dogs there that I'm putting my dog with and made me feel more at ease for our up coming 10 day trip. read more

It's been over a year that our pup, Sheldon has been going to Sleep Rover. They have become an extensive to our family. He's a frequent daycare attendee and loves going there. He does spins when he's greeted as he walks into their location. Joyce, owner, is an AMAZING person! She instills her passion for all dog breeds within all of her staff. If there were five more stars to choose, I would in a heartbeat! I started taking my dogs to Sleep Rover when they first opened and they provide such incredible care! Two things that confirm how much we love them: 1. Our dogs reactions to being dropped off and picked up. They are rescue dogs and are unsure of most people and surroundings that arent home; our dogs are SO excited when we arrive to drop them off they can barely contain themselves and pull to get to the staff who are waiting with big smiles on their faces. They have learned exactly how to earn the trust of our dogs and treat them the way they need to in order to make sure they are comfortable and happy. Upon being picked up they are always happy and tired. 2. Staff retention; I've seen the same staff stick around for years, which tells me they are treated well and are respected and are good at their jobs. Even staff who have left have ended up coming back again. That to me is a sign of a well run business. At Sleep Rover you really do feel like family, I wouldnt leave my dogs with anyone else. read more

They took excellent care of him, gave him the excercise he needed, provided pictures, video and constant updates! The reached out with recommendations to let us know he wasn't eating and provided some yummy alternatives to add to his food to get him on track! Sleeprover is the ONLY kennel in Calgary that I will bring my dog Odin to. Even though they are located on the other side of the city for us I will make the travel since they are the best! I always go by how my dog reacts to daycares as he has been to few where after a few times he would cower when I dropped him off, this NEVER happens at Sleeprover. I say "Sleeprover?" and he is at the front door ready to go! The girls always know him when we walk in the door and his tail is wagging, he doesn't even look back when the girls take him into the centre. We will run into Joyce at the dog park and Odin runs straight to her and her pack of dogs. Odin enjoys boarding, daycare and purchases from their boutique and we are very thankful to have a place like Sleep Rover to entrust our dog to! read more

My Bozley has been going since he was 4 months old, now 3 years old. He knows where he is going when we get on Deerfoot and starts barking and does not stop until we pull up in front of Sleep Rover. They hear him barking and are waiting for him. \I get him unbuckled and out the car open up the door to Sleep Rover and he's gone does not look back for me all he wants is to get to his friends and play. The staff is awesome could not ask for better people. \I never worry about Bozley when he's there and have recommended Sleep Rover to other people. I recently brought my dog to Sleep Rover for daycare. I found the staff at drop off and collection very friendly and helpful. We were asked plenty of questions as regards our baby which I found very reassuring, we were also given a full tour of the facility which was very clean and very well laid out. We were sent a very cute update during the day about Cujo's progress and activities. We were informed at pick up that there was no cost as his trial day is complimentary. this is the only place that i entrust to treat my roxie as the princess she is. we have been bringing her here since sleep rover opened and they have never disappointed. roxie comes home exhausted and well socialized. the girls (and guys) there truly care about their clients and do everything they can to provide a safe, healthy atmosphere. they even have a store that showcases some of the best products and food. they do daily VID (very important dog) cards outlining if they ate, who they played with and any other activity for the day. another super cute feature is that they post pictures daily on their facebook page of what the dogs do throughout the day. the thing that separates them from others (if anything above doesn't suffice your appetite) they are proud supporters of rescue dogs and have provided fostering for many of them and permanent homes to many dogs. read more
