I'm a bit of a glamping kind of lady and the cabins at Cedar Shores are log homes away from home. Everything was clean and even the comforters were freshly laundered. Our family stayed in cabin #6 and it has a beautiful deck with a fantastic view and direct access to the beach. They supplied the water toys to include kayaks and canoes. The beach was cleaned every morning by Louis, one of the family proprietors. If we needed anything, Juanita or Louis was right there for us. They care about their guests and give their property TLC. We hope to spend many more weeks in late summer at Cedar Shores!

Huge bonus: life jackets are available for kids as young as two! The cabins have that cozy, knotty pine charm and - since 2024 - each one now has its own strong WiFi. But what we love most is that there are no TVs, which means more family time, less screen time, and memories made together. Booking was super easy thanks to the resort's online availability search. Communication was excellent - I received updates via email and text - and online check-in made arrival day a breeze. Our cabin was even ready well before the 4 PM check-in time. We stayed for four days and were so pleased with our Suite providing us excellent views, even in frozen winter. Chris was an excellent host making us the most delicious breakfasts every morning. This is an architecturally unique place with gorgeous views and all types of rooms to relax, filled with thoughtful amenities. We got to tour many of the rooms all with private baths and nicely well done. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite- a romantic suite equipped with a double Jacuzzi and a two-person shower. It's so convenient on the (frozen) waters edge walking distance to downtown and dozens of restaurants. We walked to many of the restaurants. Thank you Chris for helping to make our 'pearl' anniversary at the Red Bridge Inn in Parks Rapids so special.

One of my coworkers stumbled on the red bridge (it's on the hiking trail system) and we have all made it our place to stay when in town for the last several years. Rooms are clean. I travel too much and that's important. Fairly good size. Well equipped with bathrooms etc. They are all different. It's a B&B with the hosts living off site which is not the norm. That makes it quiet!!! There are 7 rooms. The inn itself is on the river. Beautiful setting. Breakfast is what you want. I like a full breakfast. Bam. Friends like toast. What kind? I've seen folks get everything from 'just coffee' to a bowl of fruit or cereal. Just the way it should be Common areas are great. Large deck on the river. Large dining area- tables etc as well as a separate room with tables etc I suspect for meetings and groups. There's an area with couches and tv if that's your fancy. The deck is equipped with grills and a dock - it's on the river and they do rent boats. There's a hot tub. This is not a 5 star hotel. It is a clean well run place to stay wether on vacation or travel for work. 5 stars for me!!

And by cold, I mean uncooked hash browns, room temp. sausage. The guy cooking omelets either didn't have the right pans or didn't know how to cook them, so... scrambled eggs. The buffet setup is such that you go through the line, loading your plate and then get to to the omelet and waffle station. Then you wait in the back corner of the room for 3-4 minutes or more waiting for your order. So... your food gets colder. To get syrup or rock-hard butter, you have to cut back into the line. The syrup bottle has a stopper so it's a trickle coming out... as your waffle gets cold. Other buffet items -- chicken seemed leftover and rewarmed, coffee cake was tasteless and dry, dessert bar was rock hard and stale. Self-serve beverages -- lukewarm coffee and juice in cans. To sum it up, cold and uncooked food, no service other than a staffer clearing plates. No proper food safety measures like sneeze guards or individual silverware were present. The staff was disorganized, poorly trained and provided zero service -- not even coffee or water. This was not worth the $20 we each paid, it was more terrible than the worst hotel breakfast I've ever had. We're a local group of 5 who truly wanted to support a local business, but we won't be back and can't recommend.
