I loved this brewery so much! It is a beautiful space with a huge selection of beers on tap. The setting is super industrial, low key, with lots of seating (I particularly loved the upstairs seating). My favorite part was the "build your own charcuterie" option (though I didn't partake, I loved the idea). I always want something cheesy to nibble on when I am at a brewery and being able to choose your own tidbits for a charcuterie is an excellent idea. For the beers, I tried their Northern Logger, which I loved, and their Pilsner which was okay, but a little heavy. Their storefront shop is cool too; you can get anything from standard logo-pint glasses to even a blue yoga mat and long johns with their logo on it. You can also get all of their beers in various sizes, from a single can to a Growler and everything in between. We grabbed a four-pack of their Northern Logger to take back home with us to Minnesota. I hope I return to TBay soon, and especially hope this was not my last visit to this brewery! read more

Very well put together space. The beer available to purchase/gift shop is easy to navigate. Staff was friendly and helpful. The taproom/brewery were also very clean and pleasant. Some breweries I've been to very much feel like a factory, but this one blended the two uses well. The beers for me were hit or miss. They have quite a few to choose from and the option of a glass or sampler set. I went with a sampler and tried Skull Island, Love & Happiness, Touching Tips, and Elevator. I later tried Hoppet at the Sovereign Room. Of all of those, Touching Tips was my favorite. The bartender was very knowledgeable and helpful. read more

This is the only micro brewery in Thunder Bay. The beer is decent. Currently they have a wheat and an American pale, 360 Pale Ale, that is nice an hoppy. They are both delicious. They also recently released an IPA. The company is very small, doesn't currently bottle, and distributes kegs locally; they also fill growlers. There are 4 owners and the brewer, one of the owners, is a full-time doctor. They are currently working on expanding due to high demand. The taproom itself is basically a very small store front where they have 2-3 tap handles and provide tastes of each. You can also have growlers filled there and I believe they sell merchandise (t-shirts, glasses) there as well. I'm always for supporting local brewers and in this case it's particularly important because they're the only one around. Not to mention they really do make good beer. read more

Sleeping Giant has great product and usually great service - but today (May 27th, 2023) at the farmers market on the CLE grounds, we had a terrible experience. The person working made a point of pretending to not see us and looked visibly disturbed to answer questions. A very rude employee, I'm amazed that she was even representing the brand to begin with. She wouldn't even get off her phone the entire time we talked to her. Hope we don't run into her again. Sleeping Giant, you should really do something about her - she's scaring away customers. read more

This place is awesome! Has a lot of different beer selections and you can even try some that you maybe on the fence with purchasing. A lot of their selection comes from some of the best breweries in the area. This is extremely convenient as its a one stop shop to stock up on all of your favorites and even to try some new releases. The location is great and easily accessible with lot's of parking. There are other items you can buy in the store as well like beer stickers, beer glasses, etc. read more

We got in on the tail end of a St. Patrick's Day party. An Irish band was playing, there were tons of families with everyone in their finest green outfits & the space was large and welcoming. They had a large number of brews from which to choose. I had a flight of stouts and the pours were large and the price was right. We are from the Twin Cities and loved seeing our local artist, Adam Turmin's work in the labels. My husband had a flight that included the Northern Logger which he very much enjoyed. big fan until , having 5 growlers at home i decided to return 4 of the growlers get my deposit back on the 4 , I think for 20 bills, and then a buy another growler. I was told i could not get my deposits back, even if say i was leaving town, OK well, now its not alot of money but its the point , its a DEPOSIT!! Anway rant gone, beers of note are the "Hoppit IPA' , a real hoppy beer with a hoppy aftertatse that m,any may find over the top, but hop lovers will love. Better yet the "Beaver Duck" , mosty of the hops none of the bitterness. Much like muskoka breweries Detour the "360" is their staple , its a good ale with a bit of hops. the Skull rock is a stout worthy of the type. read more

Fantastic experience. Great staff and great beer selection. Impressed that tap room is within the brewery itself. No. 1 in every respect.

After 1st trying their beer at Kelsys I had to come try some others. What a great room and Informative staff.

They pressured me to purchase a pre-filled glass growler from them, even though I brought my own. They had to ask the manager if it is ok to fill mine?? And they didn't even fully fill it lol. read more
