Went here with my family as they came to visit. A really nice vegan burger spot. One thing I found to be particularly exceptional was that they had a variety of burger Patties! We tried all of them with the exception of the beyond meat as I've had that numerous times. All of them were unique but still very flavourful. The REAL showstopper here is the poutine. The gravy they make in house is RIDICULOUS. I would go so far as to say you NEED to get the poutine with your burger because it truly is an experience. read more

In a small ish city like Thunder Bay it can be difficult to find vegan options. I am so thankful that anything on the menu can be made vegan at Bonobo's. My favourite is the mushroom melt with the nut patty & vegan cheese. I also like the savoury salad and the fries. I barely ever give 5 stars... but this local restaurant deserves it. read more

My colleagues and I went here for lunch yesterday. We shared a couple rounds of pakoras and they were amazing. Everyone enjoyed their salads. I had the mustard "chicken" burger mushroom melt and it was the best burger ever! I will definitely return and eat here. I work out of our office in Toronto, and while we have Fresh and other veggie places, I have never had anything that even remotely compares to this! It should be noted that I am a meat eater and I've had my share of meat burgers. I must say, this experience at Bonobo's might have just converted me. read more

Bonobos was great! We came up to Thunder Bay from the UP of Michigan in September. We weren't sure we'd even find any decent vegan eats in the city. We were pleasantly surprised to find some good options. Bonobos was one of them. Great veggie burgers, great fries. Nice and friendly owners. Clean! We hope to get back to Thunder Bay and when we do we will return to Bonobos. On recommendation from the owners we took out our lunch and ate at Hillcrest Park. I had a lot of trouble finding this place, but it was worth the hunt! I am not typically a fan of Veggie burgers - but this place changed my mind. Their BBQ Veggie Burger is AWESOME! I've also had their Mushroom melt burger and the Avocado Cucumber sandwich which were both excellent! They have a small grill and limited seating but the food is great and the service is very fast and friendly. This is also a grocery store that carries a selection of local organic food and hard to find organic items that I was missing just having moved to Thunder Bay from Vancouver. This place is definitely worth discovering and hasn't been around very long yet! read more

One of few places in Tbay for vegetarian/vegan "junk" food. Their burgers are fantastic and well-priced, my favourite being the "crab" cake burger. They also have vegan fish and chips, salads, and a variety of yummy appetizers, like vegan mac and cheese balls. Some items are by default vegan, while others have available substitutions for the cheese/sauce to be made vegan. There's also a vegan grocery store in the back with a great selection that is comparable/sometimes better priced than big chain grocery stores. One of my favourite places in town. When one of us from the office go, the rest of the office follows. Some great grocery additions too.

I go to bonobo's on a weekly basis. Their food is perfect, the seed burger with garlic aoli on a gluten free bun was amazing. I love the onion rings and poutine also. All their produce and breads are local and they sell groceries as well. Everyone should go and try this place, they are consistent, fresh and clean. The owners are super sweet and welcoming and they sell thunder oak cheese!!!! read more

Bonobos is really one of the best eating places in Thunder Bay if you're a vegetarian or vegan. There are a few other options here and there, but their veggie burgers are amazing, and their vegan fish and chips are pretty killer too, plus they have fully stocked freezers that carry items you just can't find anywhere else in town, even at the health food stores. I hope it stays around, which is doubtful because of their isolated location and the unhealthy diets of most of our residents, but they're a real benefit to a town completely littered with franchised fast-food grease dumps. read more
