I did an extensive tasting and sampling at Slickers... Thanks for the wonderful staff. The ice cream here is of high quality and so rich and smooth..I even enjoy their Rhubarb flavour and I don't even like rhubarb! After tasting a handful, I decided on the rhubarb-ginger which has real ginger bits inside! The area in the front which has some muskoka chairs set up is just perfect place and setting to enjoy some ice cream.

Hot damn! This joint near Sandbanks serves up the best Ice Cream I've EVER had! If you're a fan of ice cream - you need to go. And if you're not, get prepared to be converted. One of my friends even suggested we go back to get some of this for breakfast. Their ice cream is home made, smooth, and really tickles the taste buds. If you're a group and want to share or just want to grab some for home get the 1L tub for $12. You can even ask them to pack 3 different flavours in it if you can't make up your mind. They are Cash only so make sure you got some hard moolah on you. Depending on what you like as a person, you may not like certain flavours. Their service is amazing in that they let you try whichever ones you want before choosing. The staff was so patient with our party of 5 and we got something everyone enjoyed. I had the following: Apple pie tasted delicious of apple and had pieces of crumble in it Campfire (Toasted marshmallow) amazed me because how do you manage to make ice cream taste burnt? Even more miraculously, how do you get it to taste burnt in a good way? Pralines and cream was okay for me but I was never a fan so that's probably why. Everyone else enjoyed it. Coffee Toffee was one my absolute favourites It's a very small place on the inside. When 5 of us went in, we took up all of the space in there. However, there's plenty of seating outside though to enjoy the amazing weather while eating up some delicious ice cream.

Stopped by this ice cream shop while doing a quick trip to Prince Edward County. Their ice cream is made in small batches and made fresh daily. Prices were reasonable - my partner and I both got a single scoop (generous serving) on a waffle cone costed about $11 together after tax. Recommendation: campfire marshmallow Tip: you can try the flavours before you commit!

We loved this small ice cream shop in Prince Edward County. All of their ice creams are homemade. I ordered the Roasted Campfire and Mixed Nuts ice cream scoops in a waffle cone. The Roasted Campfire flavour tasted really dark and roasted with a hint of coffee flavour. The Mixed Nuts flavour had large chunks of different nuts. It has a nice patio outside that is perfect for small groups. There were lots of street parking nearby as well.

Rhubarb ginger ice cream - so refreshing!

Slickers is a tiny ice cream shop in Bloomfield that sells delicious handmade ice cream. Literally it is crowded to have more than 6 people in the shop. We came here for a pre-lunch taste of ice cream. We asked for samples of their Campfire ice cream and rhubarb ginger ice cream. I had to try the Campfire ice cream as I'd seen other Yelpers do. It is a roasted marshmallow flavour that has a slightly burnt caramelized flavour. It was slightly too sweet for a pre-lunch indulgence and not the refreshing flavour we were looking for. The rhubarb ginger really hit the spot in terms of being light and not too sweet. We were told by some friendly locals that the apple pie flavour ice cream (another bestseller) literally has apple pie mixed into vanilla ice cream. They only take cash. They have a bunch of Muskoka-style chairs and tables to enjoy your treats outside. If you're looking for a great little ice cream shop with handmade ice cream, you have to try Slickers. (78/100)

My take-home tub was just over half filled. So disappointing. What a rip-off, at $12/litre tub.

This is a review for the take home tubs. I got a few of them. At $12/litre, I would expect the tub to be at least 80% filled. Look at the picture. It's just over half filled. That's just lazy. I understand it's not easy to scoop the ice cream and fill it but don't make it an option, if you're not going to fill the tub. Was SUCH a huge fan of this place until now. I just paid $50 for maybe 2L of ice cream. That's just such a huge rip off.

If you want to feel like a kid in an ice cream shop in Bloomfield, Slickers is the place to be! On the way to the Sandbanks, we made a quick stop to check out Main Street in Bloomfield. We saw a giant sign with a picture of ice cream and we couldn't resist! This small but popular spot had a lineup out the door! They serve up homemade artisan ice cream will all natural ingredients. We stepped inside maneuvering through a waiting group excited customers. The rotating list of flavours is posted on a blackboard at the back of the store. The flavours that caught my eye were the lemon chiffon and the apple pie. Next time I'm going to have to try this Campfire ice cream that is so popular. I went with a small cup of Apple Pie ice cream for $3.65. The small size is a generous scoop! As for the ice cream... OMG, it was so creamy and delicious, velvety with with bits of pie crust. We took our ice cream outside where they have patio chairs. I chatted with a few other visitors from out of town and devoured my ice cream in about two minutes flat. Next time I come back, I'm hitting up Slickers again -- for a double scoop of ice cream!

Awesome ice cream shop. The campfire flavor is to die for!!

We stopped off in Bloomfield on a whim to check out the stores on Main Street. We were also looking for a café for coffee but all of them closed at 4:00 pm. So we decided on ice cream at Slickers which was a delicious choice. When it comes to ice cream, I don't like over-the-top complicated flavors. The flavors here were a mix of simple and creative. I went with the camp fire based on their recommendation and it was fantastic; rich, creamy and bold. The taste of the toasted campfire marshmallows was authentic. Wish there was a Slickers in Pgh. It just means I have to make it back to PEC sometime soon!!

If you love ice cream and are an ice-cream snob, don't forget to make a stop here. You won't be disappointed! I tried the roasted marshmallow and rhubarb ginger and it tasted heavenly.

I'm glad to say that in 2026, The Hojack remains a solid grill and ice cream spot!…read more I brought my mom here for Mother's Day 2026 for dinner. We arrived around 5pm and the parking lot was packed, but we still managed to find a spot. The staff working here are young and courteous. After looking over the food menu, it didn't take long to reach the ordering window and place our dinner order. The Hojack accepts cash and credit cards, but there's an additional processing fee with credit cards. Mom secured a table for us while I stood by the other window, waiting for our order number to be called. There were several tables and they're all covered so that's very nice! For Mother's Day 2026, it was cool and windy, so we didn't stay once we finished eating. For dinner, mom ordered a turkey burger, no mayonnaise (this comes topped with lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise), I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich with all the toppings (lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise), and we split a basket of fries. It took about 15 minutes before our food was ready, but everything was made-to-order, so it all was incredibly fresh and hot! Even though the food is basic, The Hojack does a great job! We were sad to see they weren't serving their ice cream nachos, so we decided to go elsewhere for dessert (plus we were freezing at this point haha). The Hojack is a no-frills spot, but they nail the grill/fryer basics! As the weather gets warmer, I see myself coming back for a cold, ice cream treat - Hopefully it'll be for some ice cream nachos!
