Really, it's 3.5 stars. The stadium is small and cute as heck, but older, a yellowed field of grass, and needs a makeover. But c'mon, how can they afford with $6 tix for a 2000 capacity stadium? "...wooden bat, Summer Collegiate Baseball Organization that competes yearly from the end of May through August" That's cool. I love pro ball, college ball, minor league ball, but this seems just a hair below. It's baseball, inexpensive, easy to get a general admission seat, so what the...plus, you in SLO...with amazing weather. On top of that, folks are really nice...and really laid back. read more

Great day at the game - beverages and food are cheap and family friendly. $3 beers/wine for home runs. A fun park right outside of the stadium for kids when they get bored. read more

Hmmm.... how to explain the Blues... It's a summer ball club. The stadium is older and needs an upgrade. It's setting isn't exactly pretty. The seats are amazing by non-pro standards. I dunno, the Blues are cool. In terms of SLO entertainment value, they get 5 stars. In real world baseball terms, they get 2. If I lived there still, would I go? Allllllllll the time, but that kind of tells you why I don't live there more than it tells you how grand they are. It's a local tradition and it feels like it. You wouldn't mistake it for a minor league club. Likewise, you wouldn't mistake the business operations for that of a minor league club. Go support the kids trying to play out their boyhood dreams. Support the local businesses by buying some beer and food, but know that it's not going to compare to bigger operations and be at peace with that. read more

First of all.....I love baseball....if it is Little League, High School, College...Professional.....A great day is a day at the ball park. With that said. I went to my first SLO Blues Baseball a few weeks ago. I had a fantastic time. My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves. We won a haircut at a local hair salon. The next week, we won a $10.00 gift certificate from High St. Deli....They have many things for the family to do. It is a great place for a good game of baseball and keeping the little ones entertained. I do recommend it for any baseball fan.... read more

The Blues Baseball organization is great! It's a treat to have such a nice facility and a good baseball team locally. If you have kids, you are in for a treat, as they have wonderful games and booths to keep them entertained while you enjoy good baseball and a tasty brew. read more

Going to SLO Blues baseball games is perhaps one of the most underrated summer activities in SLO. Sick of the same boring nighttime bar scene in downtown SLO on the weekends? Try a Blues game instead! Tickets are only $6 ($5 if you're a student), and you can bring lawn chair, food, and drinks. While the Blues are no professional team, watching a bunch of collegiate baseball players still provides for perfectly good entertainment when you're buzzed. Oh, and they play fireworks after some of the games! If you're living in SLO over the summer I'd definitely check them out. I'm glad I discovered the Blues while I was living there. read more

It's not pro ball but then again it is not supposed to be. Actually the best part is that it is not pro ball. It is good college players, playing because they love the game. No huge lines. No $12 beers. No 30 minutes to get out of the parking lot. You cannot beat the value. Every times the Blues score Miller Lite is $2 and good beer is $4. Plus they have a ton of activities for the kids. I have been to about 8 games now and I will keep going. read more

Reading the previous post, I'm a little confused. The Blues are a great summertime, family outing. Period. Affordable, convenient, safe and best of all LOCAL. You can watch some of the best college players in the country right here in SLO before they make it big. The Blues are an independent, local entity with have no outside support from a major league franchise....so....I'm not sure how you'd expect a minor league ballpark or operations. In my opinion, the quaint stadium (built by volunteers) is perfect for the Blues and the staff has always been great. All in all, a good time and very family friendly. I'd highly recommend it. read more

The ride itself was a little less than an hour and our trail guides were super friendly, checking in on us often and making sure we stayed in a line. The only thing is I wish they gave us some time at the end to take photos of us while we were on the horses but it's okay; we were able to take photos with the horses after we got off. Overall, it was a wonderful horseback riding experience for the price ($75/person) and I already want to go again!

I am wondering if the city of SLO is aware exactly how loud the music is that's played at this…read morepool. As I write this I'm in my home (I live across the creek on the opposite side of Southwood Drive) with all windows shut and very clearly hear it, from a distance of 300 ft. I mentioned the distance because the city's own noise ordinance states, in pertinent part: "Between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., it is a violation to make or allow noise that can be heard 50 feet from your property line." My residence is five times the distance spelled out in the ordinance. However, I walked back through my complex to see how far the noise was audible. I stood at the basketball court fence adjacent to my property - a distance of 500 ft, 10 times the distance in the city's ordinance - and the music is still audible. Now, I'm familiar with the concept of due diligence when looking for a new place to stay, and I did research this neighborhood before moving here. I was aware I would next to two parks, a school, and a baseball stadium. I have no problem with the noise from the ball games, school etc. as it's unavoidable but the pool music is not. Further, I couldn't have conceived of a scenario where I would regularly be subjected to loud music from a city ran facility, in violation of their own noise ordinance. Again, I'm giving the city the benefit of the doubt, in good faith, and assuming they're unaware of this. I feel a lot of it has to do with the placement of whatever speaker(s) the music is played over. Thus, a possible solution would be to arrange the speakers so they face away from the complexes on the other side of the street. They could still face the pool, and the hill/elementary chool on the other side of the pool would largely blunt the music from traveling to the residences on Augusta. I'm really hoping to hear back from someone with the city in regards to this.
