By the time you finally get a cab the poor cab driver has been lied to by so many different dispatchers and never knew you were waiting/and or the cab drivers have to lie to you because they're so embarrassed by being late because the entire system is so messed up. And nobody cares. I called one afternoon at 12 o'clock for a 2pm pm doctors appt.. When I called at 1;30 to check on my cab I told her I had a doctor's appointment and couldn't be late and she said 'Then call another cab company!' then hung up on me. And nobody cares. After giving them over 75 minutes notice in the middle of the afternoon for a short downtown ride about 3 miles.! All I wanted was to be on time for my doctor. I called and told the dispatcher that I would like a cab in 30 minutes. 10 minutes later I get a call from one of their drivers asking where I was. When I said I would be there in 20 minutes, he said "Ok, I'm going home" and hung up. So when I did get there, 20 minutes later, I wasn't sure if I was going to get a cab or not, but a cab did show up about 5 minutes later. The cabbie proceeded to be somewhat rude to other people who were waiting for a ride, just telling them to call the dispatcher to have more cabs sent over. And then proceeded to question me on why I would call them when I wasn't at my pickup location yet. When I told him that I said on the phone that I would be there in 30 minutes and was not at the location currently, he got quiet and it was a silent cab ride home. The positives are that I got home relatively quickly and they answered the phone (I called 2 other cab companies before them, but there was no answer since it was at 2 am when the bars close). The negatives are that the dispatcher did not communicate with the drivers very well, she even confirmed on the phone that I wanted the cab in a half an hour, and that the driver then blamed me for them showing up early. read more

After a long wait called, and was told their computers were down and no cab had been ordered, but they could order one now with a 20+ min wait. I called and requested to be picked up. A girl from Camarillo answered. She told me it would be 20 to 25 min. When 30 min past I called back to find out when we would be picked up and the man that answered supposedly the "manager" said my request had not been put in. I was livid. As I had my daughter sitting on a bench with chills and stomachs pain, we needed a ride home after we left urgent care... This man was rude and he wouldn't give me info as to who took my call... This was the nicest cab driver I have ever had. His name is Paul. I called dispatch andsaid I nneeded a car in 10. She said it would be a 20-45 minutes wait. So, I said fine. She had me on hold to find out the more realistic time. Then she said someone will call because they will be there in 15 minutes. So then the drive calls anout 6 minutes later. I was like I'm on my way out. He said oh I'm sorry but I'm not there yet, I'm still at central station. (Dispatch misled me). He asked me for the address then he asked me for the main streets. I told him I'm on a vaca I don't any of the streets and places. So then he asked for my destination address and I gave the name of the place. He honestly told me how I could get there in a cheaper way. He was like I would have to charge you about 70 give or take. I gave him a new destination and he willingly gave me some great advice. Long story short, the cab was clean the driver was polite and comforting. I would recommend this business. And I will use it whenever I come back. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever encountered!!!! I did not have the chance to catch the cab drivers name (he was wearing a fedora and a peace sign shirt) who did not even give us a ride because our hotel door would not lock and he "could not wait 5 minutes" for the hotel associates to fix the problem. He had the audacity to say that a passerby was "a weird-looking mother fu&*er". And then continued to frantically say that he could just not wait any longer when he had just arrived to the location. I have always had problems with this company, but last night topped it off. I called a taxi and was told it would get to me in 15 minutes. 30 minutes later I called again. This dispatch told me the taxi would be there in 5. 10 minutes later I called again. Dispatch told me the driver picked up someone else and that she would send another taxi in 10 minutes. 20 minutes later I called again and dispatch told me the same thing. 20 minutes later I called again. Absolutely terrible. I waited for over 45 minutes after the cab was supposed to show up, called to get an update and was hung up on twice (after waiting on hold for 10 minutes). On the third call I was informed that the taxi had arrived (it didn't), I wasn't there (I've been sitting outside for an hour), and that they called me and I didn't answer (my phone has been in my hands the duration of the hour and didn't ring once). I'm not sure they're still in business. The last time I called them, there was only one driver on for the whole morning, and that was apparently a common situation. I've always liked the drivers, but there don't seem to be any left, and the phone situation is enraging--those girls, wherever they are--was it Camarillo?--with one or two exceptions seem to be dropping calls on purpose, do not care whether you ever get a ride ("not my problem, lady" attitude), and do not know what they're doing--they may be cheap, owner, but they're not even worth a tenth of that--you wasted your money and sent your company down the drain. Uber was going to get you anyway but you couldn't have helped them more. read more

UGH! Why did I book Yellow Cab without reading the reviews?! We had two taxis reserved for 8 of us on a busy weekend on the Central Coast, the SLO Wine Harvest Festival. My friends and I discussed just using Uber, but decided a taxi would give us more reliability. NOT! The first cab arrived on time, and thankfully told us immediately that there was no other cab available for our group. After confirming this with their dispatcher, he had to make two trips. We spent a couple extra hundred dollars for the first hour's reserve wines, and only half the group got to enjoy them. Our cabby Hubert was great, but I will never call this company again. read more

DO NOT TRUST THEM. I made arrangements the day before my flight was to leave from San Luis Obispo airport. The flight was for 6:20AM. I asked for a 4:45AM pickup from my home, some 20 plus miles away. The fare with tip would have been close to $100.00. At 4:50AM the cabbies still had not arrived. I called the dispatcher and was placed on hold while she inquired. Minutes later, still on hold, I hung up and made other plans. My flight connected with 3 other flights for a 7,000 mile trip. Reckless. Endangers families and children. Do not use! Today (7/25/16 at approximately 9:45 am) I was on my way to work, making a right turn from Orcutt onto Tank Farm in SLO, and I had the misfortune to see utter disregard for children's/families' safety from the driver of YellowCab #827. Across from this intersection is a park frequented by families, especially those with young children. I turned right after a brief stop. The driver of the YellowCab behind me did not stop, and proceeded to pull through the stop sign, immediately cross a double yellow line to pass me going uphill toward a ridge that, had any family been driving to the park at that moment, would have caused any approaching traffic to be unable to see him/her until too late, and most likely would have resulted in a severe accident for the unlucky family. This driver then proceeded to travel at 50mph in 40mph and 45mph zones until he/she got close to the Tank Farm/Broad intersection, where they turned left through a parking lot. I was lucky and hit the protected left green light, but by the time I made it through the intersection, this driver had already sped through the parking lot to skip the light, and then turned left across a double yellow line and through 4 lanes of traffic onto hwy227 and was still speeding. I can't say if all their drivers have this same level of disregard for human safety, but I would highly recommend using another company. This driver could have put me, other travelers, or even his own fare in the grave. Shame on Yellow Cab. I did call the company to report the driver, but of course have no way of knowing what follow up did/not occur. read more

My wife phoned this company to reserve a cab at 4:00 a.m. to take us to SLO airport four days before departure and confirmed the reservation the night before--February 16. No cab showed up at 4:00 and no one answered the phone at the cab company. We were forced to park our car at the airport for an extended period at the cost of $171 instead of paying two way cab fare of about $40. The company did not respond to our emails afterward and only today was I able to reach a manager, who told me they contract with independent cab drivers and if the drivers dont show up, the cab company takes no responsibility. That's the kind of business you're dealing with. Looks consistent with other reviews here. These crooks should not be licensed by the City of San Luis Obispo. read more

This company was called for me, by our motel owner. I had already read about surf cab or whatever, but was ok with the company my motel called. I was waiting in my room and got a call 5 minutes early from the front desk. "your cab was here, but he left because we wouldn't tell him your room number. we've called another one!" five minutes later: "your cab is here!" so we walk off to the front desk and nobody is there. "sorry, he left again!" say the ladies at the front desk. Then, a bald guy with a big brown beard walked into the reception, and he was videotaping. Finally at 10 after 5, I called to find out if someone was coming and the lady said 'we don't have anyone to pick you up this morning, I tried to call you' - my phone never rang. This is not the first time we have had problems. Another time we scheduled a pick up and the drive was 25 minutes late. We barely made our flight. Needless to say, my husband and I jumped in our car at 5:15 am and drove (no, sped) to the airport and had to park our car for a week. We barely made our 6 am flight. I phone at about midnight to make a reservation for a 5 am pick up. When the appointed time came, no cab arrived. I phone to check on status and was told there was no such reservation. I asked if a cab could quickly come and the answer was a blunt "no." There was no effort to accommodate me. I had to scramble to make alternate arrangements.
