But if you are being treated for pre-diabetes or diabetes, make sure you tell Dr. Brown from the start because the eye exam is slightly different; it's your eyes so let her know. They have some new technology to look inside the eye and map it or look for abnormalities. It will add to your bill (Dr. Brown does not take insurance) but as I get one pair of eyes, I believe it's worth a few extra dollars.

When I woke up "Both of My eyes were hurting so much!!!! AND "For the record" I did try numerous times taking out the Contacts with Contact Lenses Solution with my thumbs but it didn't work . "Both of my eyes were hurting so much and the pain in both of my eyes was unbearable". I knew that there was no way that I could drive on I75 from LAKEWOOD RANCH. My husband was at work. Therefore, I had to wait until he got off work so he could take me directly to GULF COSTAL EYE CENTER. But the point of this review I was in so much pain and it was unbearable. Dr Steven Bovio took the time 30 minutes before closing his office to attend me. He cleared me that I didn't have the contact lenses still in my eyes and he prescribed eye drop medication to take. And I'm not allowed to drive for five days. The point of this review is to clearly "STATE" that if you just moved to this area. Check and double check everything they try to sell you! Chances are you don't need half and you can probably get a better deal even without insurance. Doc was good, only reason it's not a 1 star. I will do my best to escape VSP insurance so I don't have to deal with Visionworks in the future.

The exam by Dr. Tumolo was extremely basic--even Walmart has far better technology and machinery. They messed up my prescription **twice**. The first time, everything was completely blurry. I came back for a re-examination, the doctor refused to even look at the defective glasses, and the second pair was just as useless. I can't read a single thing with them. When I requested a full refund for this substandard service, the medical staff's behavior was disgraceful. While the head of the glasses selection department provides excellent and magnificent customer service, the optical/medical side is a disaster. A gray-haired older woman at the desk was incredibly rude, hostile, and completely lacked basic customer service skills. After weeks of being ignored, lied to, and told emails were being sent to billing, she and her manager today flatly refused to issue a refund, offering yet another useless appointment instead. I do not want another appointment with a company that fails twice. I want my money back for a service that was never properly delivered. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and corporate offices. Protect your wallet and your eyes: **STAY AWAY.**
