I first met Blake at my best friend's wedding, where I was a bridesmaid. He was super calm, cool, and collected so I did not hesitate to ask him to shoot my wedding the next year. Robin was quickly added to the mix after we decided we wanted videography! My husband and I are both awkward in front of a camera, but they both made us feel comfortable and took numerous stand-out shots! We received our complete photo gallery within 1 week! As for the video, we wanted something unique that featured candid shots of our guests interacting with the camera like we used to in our 90s home videos. Think the intro to the TV show "The Wonder Years". Robin just so happened to have old camcorders laying around, so he brought them to our wedding. The final product was fantastic! Short "old-school" clips on the camcorder incorporated with high quality, cinematic videography. It was more than we could have imagined. He even let us use our song of choice for the video. He was able transition the audio of that song to our friend singing, who was serenading the cover of it during the wedding! It was all perfect. My girlfriends and I were taking a mommy break in the Pismo area and wanted to capture some memories. We found James through SLOtography and loved all the photos in his gallery. He was very professional and flexible, accommodating two locations and our puppy as well. He was quick to process the photos, much faster than we anticipated. Just wow. From the moment we started working with Blake and his team we felt very at ease. He helped us learn so much and started off with some really amazing engagement photos that we will cherish forever. Although we had our wedding in 2020, we never got the chance to properly celebrate with close family and friends until late this summer. It was kinda hard to find a photographer willing to work hourly and not sell us a "wedding package" type of situation. I didn't want anything more than someone to capture some select photos on our wedding day and Blake was up for the job! So a lot of our contact with Blake had to be done via phone and email. Sometimes it can be hard to explain and be on the same page with another person, things often get lost in translation. Especially when the main form of contact is not in person. But Blake took all of our notes and requests and really made them a reality on our wedding day.
