I've always wanted to experience going to a mall in the Philippines. From videos give watched, the malls their look so huge! I finally got the chance to visit one recently and the mall certainly was big. I visit SM City Clark in Pampanga. It's the largest in Central Luzon and has hundreds of shops and restaurants. There is a variety of shops from famous department stores to local bookstores. The restaurants similarly range from chains to smaller mom and pop eateries. I definitely love the variety! Since it's the holiday season, I loved how decked out the mall was. There is a giant Christmas trees along with a central area that has various photo ops with holiday decor like elves statues and presents. As much of a fan I was of the shops and th3 huge holiday feel, I was a bit disappointed when with the restroom situation. There is no toilet paper to be found anywhere! Whether it be a restroom inside a department store or one in the main mall, no toilet paper! In one restroom, there was even a janitor permanently stationed there and she didn't have any toilet paper. For such a huge mall, one would think this something as simple as toilet paper could be made available. Overall visit the mall was great with the exception of the restrooms. read more

This mall features exciting attractions such as a two-tier merry-go-round carousel, colorful indoor mini buses, and trains that captivate young children and entertain their parents. It offers a wide variety of stores and a diverse selection of restaurants to satisfy every craving. We particularly enjoyed indulging in the delicious Halo Halo. The staff members are friendly and welcoming. However, the bathroom facilities need significant upgrades, as they were quite unsanitary. There is no toilet paper or bidet in the stalls. Interestingly, a large toilet paper dispenser is located next to the sinks--perhaps a sign inside the stalls could remind international visitors to grab toilet paper before using the facilities. A neat mall with a large variety of stores and restaurants from fast food to fine dining. A neat feature of the mall is that they have dedicated areas for areas like electronics and health were all of the same type of stores are grouped together to make a one stop shop for items you are looking for. There is ample room to walk around on the multiple floors and a nice place to just take a stroll inside the AC. read more

The Philippines LOVE their Malls and go all out on Christmas decor. Last year was Singapore Gardens by the bay themed and it was amazing. I truly loved how they put so much thought into to theme and all the twinkling lights. The SM Clark mall is in Angeles City Pampanga at Roxas Highway. This mall has everything from ice skating rink to bowling and many cafes, restaurants, and even a wellness center. They have many stores and chains we do back in states such as H&M Oakley, of course Starbucks as well as Philippine brands such as Bench, chow king and many others too much to name on here. The mall has the 3 floors and on the third floor is the skyline. Skyline is a patio outdoor fun area where you can relax, have coffee and eat. Everything was wonderful and I definitely prefer the malls there than here. read more

I'm not a fan of malls. I tend to stay away from them. Here in America, most malls are next to death because of the age of online shopping and Amazon. All I can say after visiting this mall and driving by another in Manila... WHOA! When in Asia, I'll visit every mall I come across. Sounds weird to get excited about a mall, right? Maybe but I couldn't believe how much (fun?) I had here. There were no less than 30 food places(maybe more). Every brand. Every store. All of them were packed. It didn't matter what time of day we visited. I don't think I've ever been in a mall with that many packed food spots. So a mall... plenty of stores, plenty of food places, plenty of people shopping and socializing. Fantastic but that's not all this mall has. It's huge! There are plenty of neon lights and art installations around to make your best social media shot or selfie. On top of that, there's plenty of room to walk around inside and outside. This mall is larger than some airports I've been in. You could probably walk around all day and never get tired of the place. There's even a spot upstairs/outside that's a square. I can't remember what exactly it's called but something music related. There were 4 different acts in that square with their guitar case out(for tips) and playing music. I was stunned by how alive this mall was. I checked out a bunch of the stores but most of my time was spent walking around and being in awe. I did get to eat at a few different places. That's another thing... you'd think the food would be subpar because it's a mall... NO! Everything was flawless! If you find yourself in Angeles, definitely go here even if it's just to eat. read more

SM Clark has expanded a lot since 8 years ago! It now features tons of photo opportunities, and tons of shops! Perfect for tourists and locals alike. Enjoy the free AC. Toilets have no toilet seat -- you'll have to squat. One toilet paper roll is put out on the sink counter. You need to grab some before you do your business. BEYOND DISGUSTED SM!!! How utterly disgusting for such a conglomerate that this department store does not even offer its public restrooms, tissue paper or effing soap to wash hands! Correct me if I am wrong, doesn't Filipino culture wash with water after doing No.2??? I informed the attendant that the soap dispenser was out, asked for him to refill it and he just shook his head. People were coming out of the stalls and after peering without washing their hands!!! Eeeew! What-the-absolute eff SM Prime Holdings?!?!! The Philippines department of public health ought to investigate this, and whoever is head of the environmental or facilities department should be held accountable including and starting with the officers for this company. UGH! Didn't we all learn nothing from the Pandemic-- HAND HYGIENE!!! Oh, btw, those wanting to have a go at me. . . . I always have travel tissue, bio-degradable wipes, and hand sanitizer when I travel. RATING DURING COVID Best time to go is during the weekday mornings, as soon as it opens. To enter you need to stand in line, there are yellow markings on the ground indicating social distancing. Temps are taken and hands spritzed with alcohol at the entrance, masks are mandatory. Please follow the arrows and walk to the right of walkways. There is currently no sit down service for restaurants; you can order to go. There are chairs spaced either inside or out in front of eateries to wait to order, or wait for your food. Many stores are still closed; but the eateries, department store and grocery store are open. The jeeps are running with only 9 people per jeep with sheets of plastic dividing all the riders, you can also grab a tricycle or grab a blue taxi for transportation. It was such a nice break to go to the mall and pick up essentials, grab some take out, and take a leisurely walk around an air conditioned mall that wasn't crowded. This is a great airconndioned mall with a diverse range of hundreds of shops Unlike the local strip shops this is well maintained and totally organised and a hub for thousand of locals happy Philippinos parents and their kids I bought at Watson's Chemist/drug store the hyper market and the SM store which sells premium items. I bought a genuine ( I hope in a time of fakes but I don't think so ) Playboy tshirt at $18usd which is great value plus I paid with credit card. That may sound weird but most transactions here is street shops are paid with cash. I am told many people use cash stuffed away in hiding spots and not banks. I've never been a big fan of malls. Ask anyone. But in the Philippines, it's one of the few things to do in the morning and the afternoon. Before you enter - you have your bags checked by security. They have a male and a female security line. This mall has a lot of activities for kids - like a merry-go-round, bungee-jumping, and an arcade. They have a Starbucks in two areas. One by one of the main entrances and another in the middle of the mall. H&M and Forever21 were the two stores I frequented when I went here. The prices are just like in the states if not more expensive. They have a drug-store called Watson's where you can get awesome face-masks. Oh! They have the big flower cotton candy kiosk right by Congo Grill by one of the main entrances - 65P for a 5 layer cotton candy. 35 for a 2 layer. A pretty good-sized mall. read more
