Since I was a kid, I really didn't like going to the movie house to watch movies. I always and still prefer the comfort of home. I really don't like dealing with the noise of strangers and also how inconsiderate movie-goers have become by using their cellphones while watching movies. I HATE IT!
Now, this is why I have a love-hate 'relationship' with SM Megamall's Cinemas. This is actually the nearest movie house in my area. They also have the most screens in a mall in the Philippines. If all the other movie houses have stopped showing a movie, SM Megamall's Cinemas will still be showing it 1 week longer than the others. You can also bring in outside food (a BIG plus!). However, the cinemas themselves are old. Even after they were renovated, they still feel old and smell old too. The floors are almost always sticky from spilled drinks and food. For some reason, every time I watch a movie here, the people around me always CANNOT keep their mouths shut. I remember that, during the last movie I watched, this girl gave a blow by blow account of the movie we were watching. She had already watched it twice and her friend had not (yes, she was that detailed!). Nobody was telling her to keep quiet! I literally stood up, told her to shut up, and get out! She did and people applauded. UGH!
Anyways, it's still one of the most affordable places to watch a movie. But, just be ready to deal with the 'bad stuff' that comes with watching a movie here. read more
