The menu had a lot of tempting choices, but I opted on getting the Fitness Doner and hubby got the doner wrap. The smell in here is so heavenly, that your eyes will be bigger than your stomach; hence why I bought two pieces of homemade baklava to go. My Fitness Doner platter was all business and no bread or starch anywhere. Straight up meat and lovely salad fixings to accompany it. The meat was so moist, crispy, and flavorful; I am salivating right now as I type this. The taste was so unique to kind of HALAL I have had in the States, that I was cherishing every fork full. The guy at the counter was super friendly (and even gave our son a free drink while we were leaving). They are advertising that all their food is freshly prepared and I can confirm that. We ordered a lahmacun (no frills, salad, meat), a veggie durum with cheese and a veggie sandwich with cheese. The counter guy told us that it would take a few minutes and then went off to prepare the dough for our dishes. He even made the flatbread for my veggie sandwich right there, fresh on the spot. It took about 2 minutes in the oven for the bread to be baked and then he filled our orders as instructed. Our son had ordered the lahmacun and mentioned that this was the best one, he had ever had in the area. I can only second that. I had the veggie sandwich and it was not only quite generous in size but also delicious. My husband loved his veggie durum as well. We will definitely be back. When I told the young man that some in my party had never had a Doener, it must have been a challenge :). Look at this! The meat was juicy, and lasted all lthe way to end of my Doener. Yes, I ate this whole thing! The vegetables were fresh, and the sauce excellent. I mention that the meat lasted all the way through my sandwich because in the States, the meat is literally on top and the rest is veggies. When I go here the next time, I am showing them what a Doener SHOULD look like. It was still hot in Frankfurt when I visited a few weeks ago, so we sat outside to catch the breeze.
