I have been a customer for almost 10 years. I did not feel this way when I was in the Burlington store today when I brought in my MacBook (my third computer purchase w SmallDog) back for service today. I use to run my business on my computer but my needs have changed and I let my operating systems lapse and skip two generations. A cardinal Apple sin Apparently my appearance at the service window meant my penance was to be serviced by the newest, my mouth is full of marbles, technician. How about to start the conversation with what do you need today? What are your needs from your machine? I was made to feel like an idiot. The tech kept disappearing behind the curtain for advice. The only real answer was an upsell which is the only thing the tech was clearly trained to do. I held my tongue and stepped backwards quietly wondering if this wonderful local company has been swallowed by a giant, unfeeling entity. I am a former Small Dog facebook fan of the month. The magic is gone and I am looking for another place to purchase an Apple. read more

I really like supporting local businesses wherever possible. Alas, the service experience has been terrible on multiple occasions, and I feel compared to go elsewhere. A lot of my disappoint stems from the poor expectations set. It seems every sales associate or service technician has a different interpretation of store policies, and the number of hoops you have to jump through. On a Macbook HD replacement: quoted a price of $129 and 15 minute turnaround. On going back into the store, the same drive was quoted at $179 and a 2-day turnaround. Both answers can't be correct--and both were given in response to the exact same question. On one machine, we needed to push Windows to run a particular application. The sales associate recommended and sold us Windows 8--which didn't work. On returning to the store he said, and I quote, "Yeah, I really don't know much about Windows. You should call them." and then "Sorry, we can't accept the return now that the package is opened." If you don't know about a product or solution--don't recommend it! From the Small Dog website (April 2013): "Loaner Program: We know it's tough to be without your computer if it has to be repaired, and now there's an even better incentive to purchase AppleCare along with your Mac from Small Dog Electronics. If you bought your computer and AppleCare from us, you'll receive a free loaner for the duration of your repair!" On asking about the loaner program when having to have my MacBook Air repaired--a MBA purchased at Small Dog along with AppleCare and still under warranty. "Oh, that only applied in strict circumstances." LIke buying the computer at Small Dog and purchasing AppleCare along with it as stated on the website? No, apparently not. There are several additional examples which are in a similar vein that lead me to my 2-star rating. I've spent $10,000 on equipment there in the last few years. But I can't justify it any longer. It's just too frustrating. I think the techs know what they're doing--they are more than technically competent. But the seemingly randomly generated responses and inconsistent policies are maddening. They seem to be in need of a better customer service training program. Fix it, and I'll come back. Meanwhile, they no longer have the Apple monopoly in Vermont, and I'll exercise my decision to go elsewhere. read more

There is a good reason, Jessica W., that Small Dog has attracted so many negative reviews. The company is making money hand-over-fist as Vermont's only licensed Apple reseller, and yet their corporate culture does not put customer service first. And just like Chris C. says, I too wanted to like the store but after my recent negative experience there is no way that I would ever do business with Small Dog again. Without going into a long rant here (after all, what's the use?) my advice is: do not buy a used Mac computer from these people. While Small Dog eventually honored its warranty and gave me back my money, the time I spent and the angst I endured was not worth the trouble. The used MacBook they sold me came with a bad battery and a faulty MagSafe power connector. It arrived with System Preferences locked (despite the fact that a Small Dog tech insisted to me on the phone that it was my fault, not theirs.) And it did not come with the iLife Suite installed, even though the web page for the exact machine I bought said it would. There were other problems too -- have you ever gotten the "kernel panic warning"; it's shocking! -- but I said "no rant" so I am going to stick with that. Buyer beware! read more

I just want to say that SmallDog employees are the nicest, most helpful and accommodating people ever. Start to finish, from arranging the details of my service appointment to the people at the physical storefront, every last person was a conscientious and clear communicator. In this day of rigid corporate policy (against the very kernel of what the policy was originally designed for ironically), they are super HUMAN and flexible to come up with options to best address your situation. And they are "superhuman" too -- handily getting my old 17" MacBook Pro suped-up with a new Crucial 1TB SSD drive, according to all my specifications in one day. They are proof that "small is good." read more

I bought an iPad locally from Small Dog Electronics. During the years past I head heard good things about them. I did not know that this was old info. Based on who they were as a company before they grew. The ipad I got cost more than $700 dollars. And yet I was told that the only help I could get was for 10 minutes to set things up. The sales person I had took pity on me and gave me more time. But I noticed his boss started hovering. He was not amused that the sales person was diverting his time from sales to help the customer who just bought more than $700 dollars worth of product from him, I have since stayed away from Small dog. I would NEVER buy another product from them. I get help from Verizon wireless. For both my iPad and new iPhone. They are willing to spend time helping. And they give free classes. Otherwise I have to wait until I travel to a city where there is an Apple store. Because Small dog does not give help for their products unless you pay them MORE money, I am trying now to figure out where to buy my newest Apple product. I've ordered from them numerous times by phone, over the last ten-twelve years or so, mainly parts and cables etc. They've always been extremely helpful determining what part I need and efficient in getting it to me. I have been here a few times to for apple products and with my last visit I can safely say I will never return. I needed their smallest compact ipad mini with the largest storage space and a good cover. I live 2.5 hours away, and am leaving for a long trip so this was my only chance to get the product and things I need. I was told the ipad mini 4, the newest model was the only one they had in stock with 128 gb. So I purchased that ipad with a case recommended to me by the slaes guy assisting me. When I got home, 2.5 hours away, I realized the case I purchased ONLY was compatible for ipad mini, mini 2, and mini 3's. I called the store and they said they had no idea the ipad mini 4 was actually LARGER than the other three models, and when asking the sales rep if they carried the ipad mini 3 with 128gb, a cheaper smaller model which is what I was looking for, he said they did. His only suggestion for getting a new case was to go directly on the company website of the case I originally purchased. He told me they had no idea the ipad mini 4 was a large size and wouldn't fit the cases they have. To be an apple product expert and not know this information is ridiculous. Its wasting me time and money and the followup help was basically, "Well we didn't know the case wouldn't fit. You can bring it in for a return more than 15 days later since you live so far away." None of that helps me since I leave tomorrow for my trip. Won't be returning here. read more

I brought my iMac in here in August 2015. A quick diagnostic check showed no issues with the hardware (even though it is definitely a hardware issue, I have discovered). They said they're really backed up and it would be 3 weeks before they could get to it. Since the computer is still kind of functioning, they offered to hold my place in their queue while I take the computer home so I am not left with nothing. That sounded good, but I also had to wonder why they are SO backed up. Fast forward a month, and I get an email from them saying they are still too backed up and can't take on any repairs, and I may want to try calling Apple directly. I ask if I can still wait in the queue and they say yes, but they don't have an ETA as to when they can take on repairs. It is now mid-October, nearly 2 months since I initially brought it in. And they still won't take it for repair. This seems ridiculously unacceptable, to wait over 2 months just to have your machine looked at. My computer is now barely usable. I did try calling Apple support as they advised but they were clueless and unable to help. I also took the same computer in a year or so ago due to slowness issues it was having. As in, it takes forever to boot up and load programs. Small Dog was supposedly unable to reproduce the issue, so they did nothing. But I got charged an arm and a leg anyway. I have had terrible experiences with their service department. Someone needs to open a real Apple store here, or at least somewhere else to go for Apple service. read more

Interesting review from one day ago.. My husband just brought my sons computer in to get fixed and was told their license to fix Apple had been terminated and we have to send it out ourselves. When I looked it up on the web the article I found was from Dec. of 2015. Stay away from this place if you want to purchase anything other than stocked items. They have very small stock in store. It is apparent that this place operates to serve the walk-ins only. Here's my fiasco of an experience I hope to never relive again here. And they've lost two customers permanently. I bought several items around 1,700.00 total on Saturday November 6, 2018. . Will, the mans name who helped me was very courteous. But when I was waiting a week to hear a delivery date for an Apple Watch ordered thru them, I got a different experience. I was calling this establishment after a 2 day period, to obtain shipping info for my purchase. I called day and night, both stores because no one answers the phone-. I finally spoke to James, on November 8th, and was told the other store had opened my invoice and he was unable to access it, and instructed me to call back, which I did and no one answered at anytime- I called , which was 4 times that day . November 7th, 2018 I then went down Wednesday to purchase an iPhone cover , and still had not been given a shipping date or data to track. I then called waitsfeild and spoke to Daniel, another store associate. When I received a call back it was from Eric- another associate who left me a Voicemail saying the watch I purchased thru small dog would be here at my home 40 minutes away- this Friday, November 9th 2018. I sat home all day, Friday. I called the store all day, to get tracking info with no answer. I called them Thursday before on the 8th and no answer either. I called Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday. I went down there today, yet again. A 40 minute drive and was met with a cocky, self assured narcissist named James, who I expressed politely my frustrations and his sarcasm added fuel to the fire. Me being rude was offensive, but so was getting lied to, and several unanswered voicemails , and one email left at this establishment. As I stood there, he was obnoxious and told me my rudeness wasn't going to get anything faster. and my inquiry for a tracking number was refused. I was told there wasn't one. Lie. I was told it was shipped and would be here Friday, lie #2. I was told someone would contact me again on Wednesday, and they left a voicemail, although they have my name in the computer for years with my email, and phone numbers, did not bother to answer my questions after calling them all day, several days. I emailed them last night with my dissatisfaction and no one tried to rectify my issue. Stay away from people who are not as caring as they advertise, don't have people to answer phone,s so having a phone at all is pointless, and don't return voicemail, emails. Go to bestbuy, appl.com, or anyone else but these asshats. Do yourself a service. Repairs or tech support call Wires computers on college street, Burlington Vermont. Look them up. Since we live in a state that doesn't have an Apple store this is the best that we can get. I stepped into Small Dog for the last time on Monday and will drive to Manchester NH for the Apple Store from now on. I brought my MacBook Pro in to the store to see if I could buy a new battery or something as it's having charging issues. After waiting roughly 10 minutes for the man at the service counter to acknowledge me he quickly responded with "we don't sell them outright, you have to buy it and have us replace it" I asked how much that would cost as surely they should have a price list available to them, "Ummm probably like 100.00 for the battery and maybe like 50-100 for service...I guess no more than 250, but that's totally an estimate as it could be more once we get in there". Not once did he offer to check the computer or cord itself to see if it actually needed a new battery or if something else was wrong. He then said "so is that it", You bet that's it. I pray for the day that an Apple Store comes to VT so we can have actual Apple repairs done by professionals. read more

My mother-in-law took her older MacBook Pro with a broken fan in to be fixed. They said the parts no longer could be found and that she'd need a new computer. After $20 of parts ( a new fan from iFixIt) and 20 minutes of work, I installed the new fan and her computer is fine. They are certainly friendly, but don't seem particularly interested in actually helping their customers get the appropriate service. They seem more interested in selling new computers. read more

I really want to like Small Dog... but every time I go in there the employees are short and seem a bit smug. Tech support recently quoted me $200 to repair my son's ipod touch 4g screen. Not only is this more than the cost of a new 8gb ipod touch, but Apple will do it for $99. Even after saying to the tech support rep. that Apple would fit it for less, the rep. replied "get a new one." Not helpful. Like "Elite '13", I really wanted to like this company and always go with the little guy when possible, and am willing to pay extra. If you look at Small Dog's website, the first item in all employee bios is "customer support". Unfortunately, Small Dog's idea of customer service appears to be skewed. My brand-new MacBook Pro had a bad hard-drive, as confirmed by an Apple specialist in another state when I was out of town, as well as Apple itself. He couldn't get the new hard drive for me before I had to leave for home. So I called Small Dog when I arrived home, explained that I had a confirmed bad hard drive and that I live an hour and a half away, and asked if they could go ahead and get the hard drive for me so that I could just bring my computer in and have it repaired. No dice. I called Apple, and one of their managers actually called Small Dog personally and asked them to do it. They refused. Why? "Not our policy." The Apple manager was stunned. I wrote an e-mail to the CEO of Small Dog, Don Mayer, explaining why I was disappointed with the company. The guy was rude and abrupt, claiming that they had "no record" of any such call from Apple (even though I had names and dates). And that was it. Think about it, Small Dog: one customer asks for something very, very simple that will help her tremendously, and won't put you out a dime. If you care about customer service, you say, "Well, while it may not be our policy, Apple is asking us to do it, so we'll go ahead and do it." Gratefully, I make the long drive in, get my computer fixed, and proceed to buy a million other products I had on my list FROM YOU. Because you stepped up. I then wax poetic to all my friends and neighbors about how terrific Small Dog is, and they all rush in and do business with you. What a win-win situation it could have been. IN A DREAM WORLD! In sum, it looks to me like Small Dog is getting too big for its dog collar. What a darned shame. read more

These guys know what they're talking about. There was a slight snafu and they fixed it immediately. They recovered the data from a water damaged computer completely and faster than they said they could, then loaded it in my new computer very quickly too. I think the delay in repairs etc comes from being the best Mac store in town, so students as well as regular residents consider it a go-to place. They go as fast as they can with the demand, and do good work. read more

I visited the S. Burlington retail store twice in the last week looking for products for a new Apple device. Both experiences exhibited poor customer service and I will likely never go back. My first stop, I was looking to see if they had any cases in stock for an Apple iPad Mini 4. I arrived after 6pm and there appeared to be two staff members on the floor, both engaged in long discussions with customers. I was not greeted nor acknowledged when I walked in. I browsed the selection of cases and didn't see what I needed. I saw a display model of an iPad Mini 4 and a note that said 'Ask an associate' for details about cases. I waited several minutes for an associate to become free. One associate at the counter was busy helping a customer with is Dell Laptop, the other was chit-chatting with a customer about the pros-cons of an upcoming, unreleased Apple product. The Dell Laptop customer had to run to his car for something and gave me an opening with the associate at the counter. He asked if I had a "quick" question and acted irritated that I took the opening. I asked if they had any of the cases I was looking. He said he didn't know but thought the other iPad mini cases for the 1, 2 or 3 should fit as he didn't know if the dimensions had changed for the latest devices. I informed him that they had changed, but the other Dell Laptop customer was back and redrew his attention. I asked about the advertised cases from the iPad Mini 4 display and he said those weren't in stock and to check back sometime next month. As a side-note, I drove out to Best Buy and one of the associates there went out of their way to find me the case I wanted off the truck that had come in earlier in the day and only just listed into stock. My second visit to Small Dog would have likely ended the same way as the first, if one of the 3 available associates had even bothered to approach or speak to me. Two associates were chit-chatting with each other, the third was actually helping a customer. I browsed the store for several minutes and then left without any staff member saying a word to me.. no greeting or thank you for visiting. I've been to Small Dog roughly 10 times in the past and have always left feeling dissatisfied with their indifferent attitude toward customers. I will not be returning. read more

I left after about 15 minutes. Second visit... I interrupted the yakking and asked to buy a Macbook Air. They only had one example of the lowest level configuration. Very long lead times for service, no "can do!" attitude about any kind of issue, and actual quality of service is questionable at best. Is zero stars an option? I went in today after spilling a small amount of liquid on my computer--my fault, I do not hold them accountable for that (although I'd like to). As small dog was the only place I knew that dealt with computer issues around here, I called up, told them what my problem was, and they confirmed that they would be able to help. Hopped in my car, ran over, and was met by a highly unenthusiastic salesman who was just that. His idea of "help" was simply opening the computer, pressing the power button and confirming what I already knew...that it didn't turn on. No one looked at the computer beyond that. My options were pretty much limited to investing in a new computer. While that very well might be the case, I have taken my computer elsewhere to be throughly examined before jumping to the conclusion that my computer is shot. In fact, I was told that it is more than likely my computer can be fixed...check out Wires Computing downtown on College Street if you are serious about getting your computer repaired. read more

I bought a MacBook Pro here several years ago. This morning a key on the keypad popped off. It wouldn't snap back on, and I feared making the problem worse by fiddling with it myself. I figured anybody at Small Dog would be able to easily pop this back on for me in a matter of seconds. Oh, how wrong I was. You would have thought I'd brought in the most complex computer problem of the age. The dumpy, bovine-eyed young woman behind the counter was worse than useless. I honestly couldn't figure out if she was suffering from a hangover or if she was just simple-minded. She seemed utterly baffled by the problem. No one in the store had a clue what to do, telling me the best I could do would be to leave the laptop there until sometime tomorrow when someone might be in who would know what to do. Really? There's really no one present during store hours who can handle a simple mechanical problem? Good grief. Anyway, I came home, figured I would have to service my own computer, and learned from a Youtube video that this is an easy-to-fix situation and is really not even considered a problem. I followed the how-to instructions on Youtube, and the key was easily repaired. Thanks for nothing, Small Dog Electronics. You didn't fix my small problem or even appear to be interested, but at least I learned something today: Small Dog Electronics has the absolute worst customer service of any place of business in Burlington. You may buy a computer here, but rest assured you will have to service it yourself. read more

I switched my business over to Macs a decade ago and Small Dog has been providing exceptional customer service. They've consistently turned around repairs in less than a week and always great on the phone giving tech support. I buy most of the machines through them as I've found prices better than Apple online. read more

I got a new ipod and couldnt sync so i called them and they said it was a defective ipod. Not thinking my brand new ipod was defective i googled syncing and for some stupid reason syncing has to be "turned" on in the music section of the ipod in itunes, then it can be synced. Apparently you cant just plug the ipod in and hit sync. I dont know why the tech at Small Dog didnt think to ask this first before jumping all the way to saying defective ipod but i see now why they only have 2 stars. Update: couldnt sync the same ipod after a good while from the last time i got new music to sync. Brought my PC in and was immediately told (as a greeting apparently) they dont work on PCs. Well no kidding genius but you do realize there are millions of PCs with itunes installed that you surely can assist with strictly itunes issues.... Once I got to the technician and explained he said i needed to make an appointment while he proceeded to do jackshit with nobody else at the tech area. I finally convinced him to look at it, kicking and screaming it felt like, and he figured it out in all of maybe 5 minutes. Well that was such a huge endeavor wasnt it guys? I wonder if this place even turns a profit as they seem to actively try to get customers to leave with no help. I gotta admit even for a Vermont business they are pretty bad. read more

The trip across the lake today well well worth it! After Apples new update, I lost all of my information that was stored in a journaling app. I have been searching for ways to fix it myself and trying to find someone local who was technically savvy in Apple software. Many times I was told it was most likely lost forever. I decided to try Small Dog Electronics and was lucky enough to speak to James on the phone. After doing some research himself he returned my call and I was able to come in on Saturday. He was able to retrieve all of the data that had been lost and install it onto my computer! How lucky this company is to have such a great employee as James who was willing to take the extra time to help out a costumer. It will be worth the trip again when it is time to finally upgrade my computer. I will make sure he is working that day. Thanks again! read more

"AVOID STEPPING IN SMALL DOG POOP" (Aka, Small Dog "Service") Dropped our Mac off on Tuesday. Should we have been suspicious when we weren't given a time frame for the diagnosis of repair? Didn't really think so, as we had used Small Dog before with reasonable results. Wednesday, no call Thursday, no call Friday, no call I call them. Of course, you can't actually speak to a person, you boing through their automated attendant. Left a message Friday morning just after they opened with the repair number. No return call the entire day, evening, or next morning. Since you cannot get a live person to answer the phone, had to go by the store, which was inconvenient for us. THE COMPUTER HAD NOT EVEN BEEN LOOKED AT! I can understand a company being busy. I can understand a company triaging their phone calls. However, if you're not going to even have the courtesy of returning a phone call, WHY ARE YOU EVEN IN BUSINESS? The lack of basic courtesy of communication, from the initial drop off ("I'm sorry, but we probably won't be able to look at this for a week..." would have given us information and we could decide how to proceed), to the inexcusable lack of a return phone call requesting status of a piece of equipment (we were given the lame excuse that the call had been sent to the wrong store, this was NOT our fault - we called the number for the correct store, if their system is screwed up in triaging calls, that is NOT the customer's problem), means AVOID AT ALL COST. And, seriously, they don't deserve your business for a new purchase if this is the way they're going to treat you when you have a problem. Avoid dog poop - BUY APPLE FROM APPLE! read more

My desktop was freezing up due to what I now believe to be a problem created by Apple's software updates early in the year. Anyway, my computer was freezing up on start-up. I brought my computer to this young man at the service desk, who looks at the blue screen and makes a comment that he hadn't seen that before. (my confidence falls). They have me leave the computer (my baby) and informed me that it would take a couple of days. I day or so later, I received a phone from them with no message. I called them back (thank you caller ID), and they told me my password didn't work. I told them they never asked for my password. They technician said he would talk the guy that took my computer about that. I gave my password. A day or so later, I called again to ask about the status of the computer. They went to check and told me it was ready. I drove the long distance to pick up the computer, only to have the guy at the service desk try to tell me it was not ready. I finally assured him that it was and got my computer back. After returning home, I was unable to run my system updates. I needed to enter the terminal and get my computer to stop looking for Smalldog's server. My computer is still not really fixed, but I just don't shut it down any more. OH, HOW I WISH THAT THEY GUY WHO USED TO SERVICE MY MAC AT ORMSBY'S STILL DID SO.... THAT WAS SERVICE!! Smalldog, if you are listening, here is my suggestion for you: Rotate your tech people to the front desk so that the customer encounters your most competent people. Having a young whipper-snapper who is still wet behind the ears being the direct representative of your customer service department is detrimental to your image. Also, do follow-ups with your customers to ask about their experiences with your business. I have owned Macs since the early 90's. With Smalldog as my only repair option now, I am seriously thinking about switching to a PC. read more

I would avoid Small Dog like the plague. The sales people seem nice, but do not know their products. I was assured that I would be able to transfer files from my older iMac (OX 10.5.8) to the latest and greatest iMac through the migration assistant app, but that was not the case. My latest effort to get help from the store found me talking to a decidedly unhelpful store manager named Tyler who needs to go to school for handling customer complaints. I don't understand why Apple allows stores like this to take on their name. I wish I had read other Yelp reviews before I bought this product. read more

Even though I can save a significant amount by using my educational discount and buying online from Apple, I keep coming back to Small Dog in person to make my purchases here. This is not (only) out of a commitment to local businesses who are just around the corner or down the street when you need them. I'm primarily drawn by the extremely well informed and generously helpful sales staff. They are willing to spend serious time with me whether I'm looking for the best Bluetooth speaker for my car, or asking questions about how to boost performance on my wife's aging MacBook or getting just the right features for my particular use on a new iMac. Since I moved to Vermont 7 years ago, I've been shopping at Small Dog, and have had consistently good experience. read more

I went to small dog electronics thinking that I had a virus. The front desk was helpful in directing me to the right people to talk to. The Mac specialist listened to what was going on with my Mac and agree that he thought I had malware and offered their service to remove the malware. In the end they were unable to fix the problems I was having and did not charge me for the malware removal process. O would have given 5 stars if they had found the problem and fixed it without me having to pay by the hour for someone else to look through my Mac to find what is going on. read more

My school contracted with them to provide laptops to all the new students and not only did they delay orders from the start, they are now throttling the supply and not able to fulfill all the orders they contacted with the school for. So now several hundred students will not be able to get their laptops in time for the start of classes. Many of the students are international and now they have to run all over a city they are completely unfamiliar when they should instead be getting to know their classmates and enjoying orientation to pick them up at the Apple store. Terrible experience here. brought computer in and got a suspect diagnosis and the repair cost was very expensive. Would recommend sending computer into apple directly. This store shouldn't be an authorized reseller of apple products does a disservice to the apple name. read more

As a Vermonter, I always try and shop locally - and going to Small Dog was no exception. I really wanted to like Small Dog, but left feeling that the company may not take its customers privacy and information security seriously. I brought my spouse up to Small Dog to purchase a new MacBook to replace an aging laptop, and I will say that her customer experience with the sales team was great. The associate who helped her shop for her mac was friendly, knew how to help her understand her needs, did not try and sell her more computer than necessary, and was very patient. The associate was well trained and on par with any Apple Store or Genius Bar team member I have worked with in the past. But that is not why I am writing this review. As my spouse was looking at MacBooks, I picked up two USB adapter cables and went to the front counter to check out. Placing my credit card on the counter, I was told that I needed to provide full personal information - including legal name, street address, zip code, email address and/or phone number. I asked if I could decline this information, and was told no. At this point, I took back my card and was about to walk away. When I was informed that the information was not sold or used for any purpose, I agreed to provide the information and completed the sale. Again, the sales representative was pleasant, and I do not blame them for enforcing what was apparently company policy. Needing this much info to sell a couple cables seemed unusual to me: I conduct over the counter purchases with credit cards at least daily, and am rarely asked such invasive questions - especially on a sub 100 dollar sale. When I am occasionally asked for something like a zip code or email (inevitably used for marketing purposes) I generally decline and the salesperson just continues with a smile. Not in this case! To make matters worse, the statement about not using or selling the email address is patently false. Within minutes of walking out of the store, my inbox was spammed with an email from Small Dog enrolling me in something called the "Top Dog Club." This unencrypted email even included a username and password for the "Top Dog Club." I guess now I know why they asked for so much information! To say the least, I was shocked that, in 2017, a technology company would 1. Not have a method to support an anonymous sale, and 2. It would outright misrepresent its email privacy policy. Wow. I hope Small Dog reconsiders its privacy policy, and either decides to allow a sale without collecting personally identifiable information or states its use of such personal information accurately. read more

Rotten experience it the S. Burlington store. Went to buy my wife a used Mac Book she has had her eye on. The staff couldn't have been less interested in selling me a computer. The unit I looked at had a big scratch across the screen I asked if they had another one and was told that was the one they had on hold for me. I would have purchased a brand new one if he had taken the time to show any sort of interest in customer service. read more

i brought my ipod touch into small dog electronics a few days ago. it had been sitting in a drawer for a year, unable to power up. i assumed i would need to purchase a new ipod, but i brought it to the staff there just in case...they plugged it into their machine and were able to get it working for me again--all free of charge! (not to mention they were pretty busy with other customers, and helped me regardless) 5 stars for sure! read more

I purchased my first apple computer (the new macbook air) from this small dog location. Being a windows user, I had a lot of questions but knew I wanted to take the plunge and buy something that day. The sales rep (ronnie) was very knowledgable, helpful, and not pushy at all. She genuinely wanted to help me find what worked best for me. She also took the time to check if certain programs I am fond of were compatible with mac products. I will definitely be recommending this place! read more

They are a good store, great sales staff- very knowledgeable, however they are often out of common things such as screen protectors for the iPhone and iPad, cases for both and even some software such as the Snow Leopard upgrade. read more
