I always felt comfortable and confident leaving my kids in their care, and never once questioned their safety. Feeling certain that my children were safe and well cared for was priceless. On top of that, their educational program is too notch. My kids were more than ready once they got to kindergarten. The director, Courtney, has been there for 8 years, and she sets the standards high for her staff so that parent's expectations are exceeded. She consistently creates a home like environment and takes the time to get to know the families and kids. The facility is amazing! Each room is well stocked with age appropriate toys and educational supplies. The outside spaces are ideal being divided for younger and older kids. AND having the indoor play room was so key for those rainy days or days that were too hot/too cold to go outside. We'd make the same decision to send our kids to U-Gro, without hesitation, again.

When we first started, it was a huge transition not having him at home all of the time, but they eased so many of my worries and gave me the confidence to drop him off every day knowing he would be handled with so much kindess and caring. We dealt with a few typical issues there (like biting from another child), and now looking back on it, I was so impressed with their professionalism and problem-solving. It feels like such a blip on our U-GRO timeline, because of the rest of the incredible experiences we've had there, too. It's hard to pick and choose our favorite teachers because there have been so many. And the program director, Courtney, honestly blows my mind with how much information she retains on all of the families there. She says hello when you come in the door or leave if shes in her office, does a quick check-in. She knows all of the siblings and grandparents if she's ever met or heard of them. Her attention to detail is astounding and it just continues to highlight the level of consideration she gives to every family she serves. Those values are echoed in every other staff member too. Nothing feels better than hearing each and every person who works at your child's place of care say hello the them by name when you see them. This is actually the case for a good amount of the kids as well (the ones who can talk, haha). It's a bit of a steep cost, but it is truly worth every penny. My son will be leaving with social and emotional skills, strengthened math and reading foundations, solidified potty-training, and so much more. They've even started writing letters and now he can confidently write his name! It's incredible hearing what he's learned at school each and every day. I can't recommend this establish more highly.​

Disappointing Experience…read more I spent eight years at this daycare and have significant concerns about their communication and customer service. Initially, I chose this daycare due to limited options in my area, and really only stayed due to limited options, I wish I never made that decision, my experience left me frustrated. There were instances of inflexibility regarding discounts. I had to withdraw my oldest daughter when they stopped applying a $5/week discount and didn't notify me until weeks later, leading to late fees. When I sought clarification on the discount policy, I felt there was a lack of transparency, and I was advised to find another childcare provider, despite being a long-term customer with two children enrolled. I didn't remove her from the daycare because of $5/week it was because they would not honor a discount and could not provide anywhere where the discount could not be applied in writing. Recently, during discussions about a rate increase--the fifth in four years--2nd this year (2024). I found the interactions with management to be unprofessional & aggressive. When I asked for clarification on the new payment terms, I felt my concerns were not taken seriously. I acknowledge that I lost my cool and used foul language during this interaction, and I apologize if I caused any disturbance. I was also concerned about communication regarding incidents involving my children. On multiple occasions, one of my children came home with unexplained bite marks, and I had to reach out for clarification. In one instance, after a significant bite, they reviewed the footage but couldn't determine how it happened, which left me uneasy about the care my child was receiving and I considered looking for another childcare option but ultimately stayed still due to a lack of childcare options. Overall, I believe there are better options available in the Dover/Weigelstown area, now. If you value open communication and a supportive environment, and don't want to receive 2 rate increases a year I recommend exploring other childcare providers.
