They agreed to arrange for the body work, to have the alloys recoated and finally for a full 'PMG -Detail' which was meant to leave the car absolutely spotless and in perfect order. We discussed numerous details and I asked them to leave nothing undone - everything that could be done, should be. Unfortunately, this arrangement did not work out very well. It started with delays, my car was to be done in two weeks. It took three. Nothing else was done but the body work - I cannot speak to the quality of their polishing the paintwork because I was not allowed to see it before they started. The car was painted and the paint job is ok. The wheels look fine, although they increased the cost 25%, mid-job, even though I made no alterations. I paid a very fair sum for this work, it was no favour. The supposed 'detailing' for which I approached them in the first place - was terrible. There is so much dirt left in and on the car, no attention to detail, it was definitely cleaner when I left it with them initially. They 'polished' under the bonnet using some shiny oil, but left grime on most of the painted surfaces. It wasn't even power washed well. They changed the reg plate surrounds - but installed the rear one very badly and it came apart right after driving away. They destroyed the Mercedes badge on the boot and I'll have to get it replaced. None of the requests we agreed at the start were done, despite my numerous communications and their confirmation that it would all be 'no problem'. I sought to get this all rectified, but they've continuously lied and let me down on every aspect. I had arranged with them for the window tinting - which they never got done - and they quoted £150, of course I just rang the company they claim to use and was told it would cost £80. They've also kept the USB port I supplied for installation into the car - despite my requesting it's return... apparently 'they can't find it now'. (The item was eventually returned, after I had replaced it myself.) Clearly my car was not a priority and not given the care and attention apparently lavished on other clients. I'll not be speaking with PMG again or referring anyone there at all.

While my car is relatively new there were a few marks in the paint left by the dealers poor preparation which I wanted removed and I knew the red Volkswagen paint was very soft and prone to marking easily. PMG being a Gtechniq certified detailer has access to crystal serum black a professional only product and this is what I went opted for. I also opted PMGs on formula glass sealant. On collecting the car it was better than new (and I would know as I bought it new). The paintwork was flawless and the gloss from it was unbelievable. I was under no illustration that what I was asking for wasn't cheap but Pete and his team offer an exceptional service and I believe are reasonably priced. I will be using again without a doubt.

The customer hires out space and then is free to use the Motor Gyms tools and equipment to fix up their motorbike or car. The Motor Gym offer membership schemes for renting out the bays and equipment so you can save yourself even more money. The best thing about this place is that if you fancy yourself as a bit of a Phil or Grant Mitchell in their mechanic days you can pop down here and work on your car in relative safety instead of working in your driveway or garage and causing general annoyance to your neighbours. Also if you do not fancy doing the work yourself but like the space and the work the guys at the Motor Gym do then you can pay them to fix your vehicle. The Motor Gym is open 7 days a week and I think is an absolutely amazing idea that is sure to catch on.

And it's a big job to fix. At least £350. So, why didn't they fix it? After phoning me and explaining, they recommended that, if I can persevere until the timing belt needs changed then it would be better to do the two jobs at once. I appreciated their honesty. They could have easily told me it needed sorted right now, and then I'd need a timing belt at another time. I know nothing about cars other than that they cost money!! Today took the car in as it was misbehaving on cold starts, they gave it a through check over testing all kinds of things that are way beyond my knowledge or understanding of cars but delivered the bad news that it was going to be a big and expensive job to repair. Doesn't need to be done immediately so went and collected the car fully expecting to pay for the tome they spent looking at it and was handed the keys and told to go think about what I wanted to do...no charge! Think they may have felt sorry for me. Previous work has always been done to a high standard so will definitely be back just perhaps not with my current car

BMW looking extortionate prices for parts so they were happy for me to locate parts elsewhere and they'd fit them. Couldn't get one of them myself so they got it sorted and then I'm going back with reversing sensors for them to fit - £15 online instead of £85 through Bavarian!!!! Glen also checked my tyres for me before I left as he thought one looked a bit flat and got them properly inflated - doesn't sound like much maybe but he didn't need to when the car was only in to get a new door lock fitted. Wells checked it apparently and found no issue with the wheel alignment, was sent on my merry way after being told that "some cars are designed to do that." Took it to Lakeside Tyres in Mallusk, who are great by the way, printed out wheel alignment to show me that they did indeed need adjusted. £15 and 30 minutes later, car is straight as an arrow! I'd avoid Wells Tyres on this basis, especially if you're sent from Fusco as they're no doubt in cahoots with one another.

Halfords is a pretty good car brand. They have only just began popping up all over Northern…read moreIreland in the last few years and I like the range of car care items, in car audio and accessories and biking equipment, but I have a few issues with Halfords, and this branch in particular. First of all, their own brand range isn't of a great quality. True enough it is cheaper than other alternatives, but it is low quality, as I can profess when I had to bring back windscreen wipers I bought here three times. My most important qualm is to beware the online reserve and collect service. I wanted to get a bike for my girlfriends birthday, despite the fact that she is 21 and not 10, though I suppose that is a good thing or certain authorities would be after me after that admission! I reserved a bike in here as it is my nearest store. I even rang the day before I collected to check everything was going to be ok. Once I arrived, not only was my bike not ready, but it was out of stock in the store entirely. You would think this would warrant an apology but I got the surliest manager imaginable who showed no remorse for the event, and didn't even try and help me find something else in store or another Halfords. I ended up getting something in a Halford's in Downpatrick which I received excellent service, but I will never walk i this store again, despite it having a bigger selection. Service is important, and the staff here need to realise it.
