I had my vehicle towed to SMART GMC @ 3 Smart Drive, White Hall AR. Fuel system repair/overhaul. I made a mistake and poured Def Fuel into the Diesel Tank of my Sierra 1500 Denali, on March 13, 2026. I signed the papers for repair, spoke with the Representative Mr. Sam; three week later, April 3, 2026, Mr. Sam said he was waiting on me to begin to inspect the vehicle even though I signed the paperwork for repair. Mr. Sam Svc Tech, said it would be about 10 - 15,000 to repair, I again told him to begin. I then filed the repair with State Farm Insurance. Mr. Sam said that State Farm didn't even know who I was, even though I gave him my Insurance Policy number; he then claimed that State Farm wanted pictures; well he said that would take time. Mind you, I already authorized repairs on March 13, 2026... Now its April 23, 2026 and he says the parts are being ordered, and that it would take 40 hours of labor. At this time STATE FARM HAS ALREADY PAID SMART GMC $13, 249.00 ++++, so they cashed the check already. I called Mr. Sam Svc Rep and he states that don't have the parts and it's on order. May 8, 2026 I called my State Farm Agent to complain, after I left several messages with Mr. Sam @ Smart GMC. After the State Farm agent contacted Smart GMC, Mr. Sam the Svc Rep, called me and said that my wife called him to get an update, but I was the person who went to Smart GMC personally. Again, he shrugs it off as if I don't need my vehicle. He constantly saying, we got pictures, it's on the rack... Well on today, May 18, 2026. I went to Smart GMC, spoke with Mr. Sam, and again the same lies; we took pictures... I told him they need to give me a Loaner since he said to me "HE DOESN'T KNOW WHEN THEY WILL BE FINISHED WITH MY VEHICLE." At this point, I'm through calling, it's time to now get other people involved. The Attorney General of Arkansas, BBB of Arkansas, Yelp and Social Media to give my review of the services of this Dealership. I DO NOT recommend taking any person to take their vehicle to SMART GMC for major repairs. I've heard other stories of the same issues. My review today is out of 1 of 10, I will give them a 1 rating. My experience has been horrible. The Service Representatives at SMART GMC act as if they have no concern for their customers. I was told it would take 40 hours of labor, well it has been 320 hours and I am still making monthly notes on this vehicle while SMART GMC hold it on their premises for whatever reason. I don't know whether this group of people have a problem with certain people, I am not sure, but I do know, after I get my vehicle back, I WILL NEVER EVER DO BUSINESS WITH SMART GMC OF WHITE HALL AR. Very unprofessional, non-caring and full of lie after lie after lie. Had I known this is how this Service Department Operates, I would have never taken my vehicle to this repair shop. Sales team was easy enough to work with. Service department was horrible. 4 hours for an oil change and tire rotation. One week later (11-10-25) I put the truck in the shop for 3 relatively serious issues. I called to check on it on 11-20-25 and was told it was ready. When I arrived to pick it up, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS FIXED!!! I chose to carry my 3 month old truck with 6000 miles to another dealership and trade it off. My husband and I had our truck sent here for our motor to be replaced (Insurance claim) our truck has been at this dealership for 3 months. We have called several times, went to the dealership in person and have been lied to on multiple occasions. Here is is April 17, 2025 and I called again today mind you after my husband wen into the dealership a week ago and was told that the truck would FINALLY be pulled back and started to be worked on that it has NOT even been started on and that the starting process (Pictures) has not even been completed. This place is TERRIBLE and I would NEVER advise using them as a place to purchase from nor use as a place to get a vehicle fixed at. Do not buy from this dealership. Sold a lemon that they forced me to pay an extra $5,000 for extended warranty now I know why. Bought in June 23. In shop for 6 months. Still not fixed. They offloaded a vehicle they knew was broken. They do not stand behind their products. Don't believe them when they say u will get a loaner. I'm forced to drive this vehicle that still has a check engine light on. I'm disabled and have to have transportation. Stay away!!!! read more

Bought my vehicle on June 9th. The check engine light was not on. They delivered the 2018 and within 6 miles the check engine light comes on. I'm told I have to take it to read codes. Took the vehicle back. 4 more times I'm told it is ready only to take it back for same problem. Their maintenance man said that vehicle should never have been said it was ready. Pulled maintenance records to find out it had been run low on fluids and all they did was change the timing chain and reset the codes Everytime it came on. I'm making pmts for a vehicle that they knew had a bad engine. I have texts and pics to prove everything. No loaner even though attorney general was told I have one. I am going echo what alot of what previous reviews are saying. The customer service was ok going into the transaction. However, once the sale was made communication was cut off from all levels of staff. I bought a 2018 vehicle with roughly 80k miles. Within 6 days (less than 300 miles driven) the car left me stranded in an intersection with my family. I suspected it was the transmission, however after taking the car to a transmission shop they informed me that the CV axles and Rear Diff were completely grinded out thus rendering the vehicle inoperable. I called the dealership and continued to get the runaround from them saying hey were going to speak to the managers and see if there was something that could be done. Once they had my phone number identified they would simply not answer or pretend like they couldn't hear me and hang up. I did not pay additional money for extended warranty for the vehicle because in my mind a 6 year old vehicle with 80k miles should not have that extreme of problems. I was wrong. The vehicle was sold "As-is". I understand you are taking some risk when buying a vehicle like this and I accept some of the responsibility, but I find it extremely suspect that the vehicle would break down within 6 days and the dealership allegedly had no knowledge that it was in this condition. First time interacting with company. Initiated contact through CarGurus. Emailed and set appt with sales rep for a specific car. Shop is an hour away so asked for notification if car was sold. They sold car before we arrived. No call. No email. Nothing. I didn't need to know that it was sold but at least to say someone is looking at it, OR...maybe honor the appt made for the specific car and maybe have some integrity in business. I read some reviews and it seems this isn't a new thing for them, so I wouldn't recommend trusting them unless you live near the dealership. I was in town for holidays and needed to gave my son's Cadillac oil changed before he went off to college. I chose Smart Cadillac as I wanted car serviced at a dealership. The service advisor I talked with, Denny, was very friendly and professional. After having car inspected and oil changed, he showed me the mechanic noted that car needed alignment as well. Purchased a 2017 Hyundai Sonata from Smart Chevrolet in late March 2018 due to a hail storm totaling my previous automobile. There was one dent in the roof of the Sonata from the hail storm and I was told, by law, they would fix the damage to the roof. Took the Sonata to the Smart Collision Center, a few days later, and asked what would be a good time to bring the Sonata back in for repairs as I knew they were busy at the time. I was told to bring it back on April 16 which I did. Called the Collision Ctr. back on April 20 to check on the status of the repair to my Sonata. THEY HADN'T EVEN BEGAN THE REPAIR due to LACK OF COMMUNICATION between the dealership and the Collision Ctr. Well, not to go into the back and forth I had with the individual I purchased the car from and the individual at the Collision Ctr., they will BEGIN the repair. This WHOLE matter was over LACK OF COMMUNICATION & squabbling $700 repair! (at least that's what I was told) It is funny to me that my Sonata had sat there ALL week and NOTHING was done but I call and in a matter of 15 minutes my roof has been approved to be repaired!! Over the years I have purchased (3) automobiles from SMART Chevrolet because they are local but I WILL NOT make another auto purchase from them in the future. I recently purchased a battery for my 2011 Buick LaCrosse at Smart Chevrolet/Buick in Whitehall, AR. Since I wanted to buy the same type battery the car had in it when it came from the factory, I went to the dealer to get the battery. The battery was $138.00 plus tax. I thought this was rather high but I purchased it anyway. Later, I was told that I would be charged an additional $60.00 to put the battery in my car. I have purchased batteries at many places before (including dealers) and have never been charged for putting the battery in my car. I will not take my car to Smart Chevrolet/Buick again for anything. I purchased one a couple years ago and when I called the warranty company to discuss the warranty, I was informed that they never received the contract or payment from Smart. They essentially took over $1800 from me and gave me nothing in return. I was given misleading information by Service Department Rep. Shawn, who is normally verrrrrrry rude and displays a pattern of Adult disruptive behavior (conduct). My first encounter with him was when I ordered a part for my vehicle. I was called on my phone and told the part ordered was in. I went to purchase the part and was told by Shawn that if I didnt get my vehicle fixed by Smarts that he was going to charge me (diagnosis and for the part) because when I ordered the part he didnt charge me anything. (I explained to Shawn that I was acting in lieu of my husband because he was not in town, I was only following the directions that I was given). However, he stated that the cost would be half of what it was to fix it because of the (fee and part), so I should just get it done there. Never once was I told that I would have to get my car fixed at Smarts nor was I aware I was being charged a fee that was not discussed when my part was ordered. It was not until I went in to purchase my ordered that I received this information. Of course, being a woman and with his display of rudeness (which was very embarrassing) due to it was done infront of customers and the other reps, was very unacceptable. My Second, rude and verrrrrry unpleasant experience with Mr. Shawn (whom seem to always be the one that answers the phone), I called, explained in details the issue that my car was having (not starting at all)(boost twice) and inquired about a battery purchased from Smarts for my vehicle in 2013, I was told that my battery was still under warranty, that it could be replaced, and to come in. He also informed me that he was transferring me to the parts department to make sure the battery was there. I was then transferred to (Michele) who by the way was pleasant. She placed me on hold to make sure the battery needed was in stock. I was then told to come in once it was located. Never once during either conversation with the Service nor Parts department was I told that the battery (which was discharge and then charged according to the papers I requested copies of 3+ times) would be charged and depending on results I would or wouldn't have my battery replaced. I wasted 20 miles going to this place, 1 to 1 1/2 hours waiting on a test to be completed in which I learned about after I arrived, and then had to deal with Shawn very rude attitude. I recommend Shawn be made as a representation of Smarts and the Chevrolet industry, take continuing educational courses/training on GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE, BEHAVIORAL/MENTAL HEALTH, AND CONFLICT MANAGEMENT, BUSINESS EDUCATION, and ARTS OF NEGOTIATION. Mr. Smart, Shawn ( your Service depart employee), really causes a bad look on your company and as a leader myself, he would have been dismissed from my company.. IT WOULD BE INEVITABLE because of his continuous behavior and failure to correct his actions. Do some research on your reviews and you will find that Shawn is a bad reflection on your company.
