As soon as she started walking and talking, I was prepared for the next chapter--but unfortunately, what followed was a series of deeply troubling experiences. First, my 2-year-old developed unexplained black eyes. No clear incident was ever reported or explained. Not long after, she contracted a scalp ringworm infection, which I later learned was likely due to the unsanitary conditions of the daycare environment. These are serious red flags for any parent. I also had numerous unprofessional and upsetting encounters with a staff member named Victoria. She was consistently disrespectful and misused her authority. On top of that, they withheld incident reports that I am legally entitled to receive, along with financial documentation I requested. Things escalated when I pushed back against the disrespectful treatment. Because I did not respond submissively when Victoria made a demand--nor did I appreciate being dismissed when I asked to speak with someone in charge--she locked me in her office, called the police, and falsely accused me of assaulting a teacher. This was an incredibly traumatizing and unjust experience. After that, I tried to give another location a chance, specifically the one on Prosperity Church Road, hoping for better treatment. I spoke with Summer, who initially seemed professional and helpful. But sadly, our experiences only worsened at the second location. Please take this review seriously before deciding to entrust your child to either of these daycare centers. No parent should have to endure what my children and I went through.

Unfortunately, after the transition to Learning Jungle, our experience changed significantly. Over time, we experienced frequent turnover among teachers, directors, and assistant directors. In one of my child's classroom alone, there were nearly ten teacher changes during our time there. The lack of consistency made it difficult for children and parents alike, and communication became increasingly inconsistent. My child has documented food allergies, and there were multiple occasions when she was given food she was allergic to despite having an emergency action plan on file and it was not always followed. This was very concerning as a parent. The event that ultimately led us to leave occurred when my child reported being hurt at school by a teacher. I contacted DSS, and both DSS and Learning Jungle later confirmed that video footage showed two staff members physically mishandling my child. While that was upsetting on its own, I was equally disappointed by the response from leadership. My concerns were raised not only with the center director but also with regional and corporate leadership. I did not feel my questions were adequately addressed, and I left those conversations without confidence that my concerns were being taken seriously. There are still some caring teachers at this center, and I appreciate those who positively impacted my child's life. However, based on our experience with staff turnover, leadership instability, allergy-related concerns, and the handling of a serious safety issue, I cannot recommend this facility. I encourage parents to review publicly available reports and conduct their own research before enrolling their child.

My daughter attended this daycare, and the experience was deeply disappointing and concerning. The staff is not only unprofessional but also lacks the basic warmth and compassion that every child deserves. Ms. Sonya, the assistant director, is especially rude, mean-spirited, and disrespectful to both children and parents. I once overheard her speaking to a crying infant at the end of the day saying, "I don't care if you're crying, ya mama is late, so I don't know what to tell ya." No attempt to comfort the baby--just coldness. That level of indifference toward a child is unacceptable. Ms. Lisa, the director, is no better. She is rarely around and completely disengaged from the day-to-day. When she is present, her professionalism is seriously lacking. There is no leadership, no accountability, and no positive tone set for the staff. Many of the caregivers appear lazy and inattentive, clearly counting on the fact that most parents aren't actively watching the cameras. It's telling that so many children walk in crying--and continue to cry even after weeks or months of attendance. This is not a safe or nurturing place for any child. Please do your research and read all reviews carefully before enrolling your child. I truly regret trusting them with mine. Courtney the owner of this business is a fraud and does not care about families and children well being! It's just a money maker for them! We've built great friendships with other families and really feel a sense of community here. Even though I liked where she was originally at, within just a few short days I noticed how much happier she is at Sharon Academy. I think the teachers really work with the kids. No matter when I drop by to get her, each teacher/caregiver is playing or working with a child. I never happen by people just chatting away while the kids cry or which I have seen at many other centers as I interviewed many. They play pretty hard when outside, so dirty clothes (although not fun to clean) tell me that she got some fresh air and played in somewhere besides just the classroom. They make crafts and do specialized learning projects it seems almost every day and the kids really are engaged. Whenever you have someone else care for your kiddo, you will never think they are perfect as you feel you should be there instead. However they are pretty fabulous and I actually feel like my daughter would be missing a lot of learning and playing opportunities if she was not there and at home instead. It is obvious how much the owners of this place care, I see them everyday helping and supporting the staff. The staff has great educational backgrounds, and when I bring my daughter home (she is only almost 15 months now) I am amazed at some of the things she has learned throughout the day like when she makes signs to songs or has learned a little dance or words, etc. GREAT PLACE which means very long wait list so get in early and you will not be disappointed. It is pricey but so is everywhere in Charlotte for quality care.
