Would have been better had she told me all this before I wasted all that time. But, I guess many staffing agencies know people are desperate and are willing to put up with these shenanigans. At a time when vulnerable people are coming to them in genuine need of help, guidance, and timely support, the experience instead can feel cold, bureaucratic, and painfully indifferent. What has been most heartbreaking is not simply delays or confusion, but the feeling that human beings in crisis are too often treated like paperwork instead of people. When someone's health, livelihood, dignity, and future are hanging in the balance, a system entrusted to help should never leave a person feeling abandoned, unheard, or defeated. I entered this process hoping for advocacy and meaningful assistance. Instead, I have too often been met with contradictions, lack of clarity, poor communication, and decisions that seem disconnected from the real-life consequences they carry. No one seeking help through a vocational rehabilitation program should walk away feeling more hopeless than when they arrived. It's a horrifying program and should be shut down.
