While using SmartSites I used the analytics to see just how well they "performed" and these are the numbers I obtained: 63% decrease in total revenue 66% decrease in online store sessions 68% decrease in Total Orders Placed 7% decrease in conversion rate. 72% decrease in sales attributed to marketing. Unfortunately I was blinded by the numerous positive reviews this company has and they could not meet the expectations of even maintaining my business at the level it was at prior to hiring them for SEO and PPC services. It's been a little over a year since my switch away from Smart Sites and I couldn't be happier using a freelancer. I had to contact Smart Sites to tell them that there was something wrong with the PPC campaign because of the dramatic decrease in revenue towards the end of of our run. I hired Smart Sites because this company claimed that they would be outranking my competitors and can provide me results better than anyone I have worked with in the past. The team needed to be on top of these critical errors and I should not have to contact the team a week into a prevalent issue. This issue should have been at the forefront of their concerns before I even knew about it. This was the reason why we pay top dollar for their services and how we were sold in the onboarding process. TL:DR, Don't believe the hype with smartsites. Mediocre seo strategy, a culture of no accountability and high costs for poor to no results. *********** I was duped by the great reviews on smartsites. We entered into a contract for managed PPC and SEO. Right away there were a few red flags, but I thought since they have such great reviews let's give them a little time. First bad decision. The PPC 'team' could not figure out a very basic FB pixel issue. Over 6 weeks of back and forth for a minor problem that turned out not to be a problem at all! They were supposed to fix the campaign structure. This never got done. They used the same setup that was already there. They did not even change any audience structure. Every time you bring up an issue to these guys they say, 'let me check with my team'. I heard that more than 10 times. By the way they are outsourcing all work overseas. This wouldn't be a bad thing if they got results. The strategy from the SEO 'team' was very basic. No creativity at all. Each time I raised concerns, again I was met with 'let me check with my team and get back to you'. It would take at least a week to get back to me. Overall our traffic dropped more than 50% in the time they took over. Smartsites charges block time starting at $2000 for 40 hours / per month. When I tried to cancel and get my last payment refunded due to the fact there is no way possible they did 40 hours of work, they fought to the death. All in all we paid them $7500 over the course of 3 months to lose us a ton of money and cause a lot of damage. I wish they would have worked on our account half as hard as they fought to not give us any type of refund. The owners Alex and Mike would never reply to any of my emails. It appears that the culture of no accountability starts at the top. read more

I selected SmartSites based upon what appeared to be good experience and positive reviews in the areas of SEO and web site development. They seemed knowledgeable and were very responsive prior to signing the contract. However, the engagement did not go smoothly. Weekly calls with my assigned Project Manager were filled with the words "I'm sorry" as the PM had to continually appologize for all the issues and problems. SmartSites seemed to fumble at almost every turn in building our website - breakdowns in communication, poor quality work, and a "check list" approach which focused more on just ticking off tasks We also used SmartSites for monthly SEO services. Content was of poor quality, inappropriate and they often billed for unproductive time, and when asked about it refused to provide proper documentation. My experience appears to be unique given all of the other 5 star reviews, so it is possible there were unique circumstances at play. However I recommend future customers to do their due dilligence and ensure SmartSites is the right marketing firm for them. read more

My rep at Smartsites was Matt Potash and the results he was able to garner for us was beyond what we could have hoped for.
