I feel like I really lucked out choosing Innercity. Andre was a hoot and so were his guys, Mike and Alan. The owner asked me alot of questions when we booked the move and they came with the right type of equipment to get me out of one house and into the other. They dismantled my bed and reassembled it in my new place. Did the same with the kids beds and my table. No lost screws or missing table legs. No nicked walls and for the first time all my plates got to the other side. Saved my carpets too as (of course) it had to be raining! I moved from a house with too many stairs downtown to a 3-bed bungalow in Markham. I got a mid-month special, and I was entertained by Andre and Mike throughout the move. I recommend them.

As I mentioned in my previous review, the movers were highly skilled and very experienced but mistakes were made that caused some damage to my furniture. We're human and we all make mistakes. Minor damage to furniture is a normal part of moving and I expected it when I hired this company. What I didn't expect was that the owner would take the time to contact me, to listen attentively to my complaints and then to respond by remedying the situation. I did not expect compassion, kindness or a human being at the end of the phone line who was deeply apologetic. I was very impressed with the humanity shown by Paul. Paul didn't just apologize for the mistakes made by his crew, he took responsibility and ownership for those mistakes. He showed integrity and to me, that is what differentiates a good business from a bad one. Thank you for being an honourable human, Paul and for running your business with integrity. I highly recommend Inner City Moving & Storage Company. Patrice

This review is a bit different. I came here to make a donation to The Period Purse. This DYMON is a drop-off for this charity that is dedicated to menstrual equity. It provides free period products from community partners and donations. It also has education programs across Canada. I was at Sansotei Ramen and used a single stall washroom before I headed to shop at Square One. I noticed free sanitary pads and tampons for periods in the washroom. I thought that it was a thoughtful gesture. We have food banks to support those who are having a tough time with groceries, especially as their prices continue to increase. What about folks who can't afford to get period products? I have been fortunate that I have not struggled in this area, but there are folks that have who could use a break. I did a search and found The Period Purse. Perfect! You have the option to donate to this charity. You get a tax receipt if your donation is at least $25. You can also donate period products. I like that it accepts open boxes of disposable pads and tampons, as well as new, unopened reusable products. After work a couple of Wednesdays ago, I drove over to DYMON. I was heading eastbound along The Queensway. DYMON is on the left, but it's an interesting setup to make a left turn. I basically had to pass by DYMON because there's a barricade as you go up the overpass and down it. I made a u-turn at Kipling Avenue and then turned right onto Vansco Road. There's a RUDY burger joint before you turn right, which is across from DYMON. There's an IKEA across The Queensway from both DYMON and RUDY. In other words, YOU HAVE STORES THAT USE ALL CAPITAL LETTERS IN THEIR NAMES IN THIS AREA. How coincidental is that commonality? I found a parking spot in front of the main doors. I backed into a spot and headed over there. I was a bit shocked to find that DYMON has kitchen and storage accessories. I felt like I was in a Winners store, but a fancier version of it. I was definitely not in a U-Haul store. The floors were shiny and spotless. It was bright and inviting. It was clean. I saw a few sales. It was cool. I was heading over to Guest Services when a female staffer was flagging me by saying hi behind me. She asked if I needed any help. I said that I was dropping off a donation for The Period Purse. She nodded and said that I'd be hitting Guest Services ahead and to my right. She frankly startled me. I was heading in the right direction. I will say that she was trying to be helpful, but I felt like she was chasing me down as I was walking. I ended up in a spacious area. There was a FedEx vehicle that pulled into this area. There were a handful of vehicles. If you have a storage unit, you can drive into this area to load and unload your stuff. I saw dollies to help out. I also saw mailboxes that you can rent. All services in this area are 24 hours. I like that you don't have to deal with weather if you are moving your goods in and out of your storage area. You drive into this area that keeps you and your vehicle dry and safe. I also saw a wine cellar area. You can house your wine here. It apparently has a bunch of controls, from humidity to lighting, to ensure that you wine collection is in pristine condition. It was a fascinating visit! I learned so much dropping off a donation to a cause that had nothing to do with storage or moving. At Guest Services, a nice man said hi and asked if I had a donation in my paper bag with handles. I did. He happily took it from me. I was pleased that I did my part. I don't have the need to rent a storage unit. It was nice to see a more modern approach here. I last visited a U-Haul store in Winnipeg eons ago when I moved from Rochester, MN to the city. That store was never as nice and appealing as this DYMON. (149)

I used Ninja Movers back in 2019 for a move and had a great experience, so when it was time to move…read moreagain, this time from a condo to a townhouse, I decided to use them again based on that positive experience. Unfortunately, this move was very disappointing, especially considering how happy I was with them the first time. The biggest issue was the wardrobe boxes. The move included two wardrobe boxes, and I had also specifically requested a third one because I had a lot of clothing and other items that needed to be moved carefully. However, about three hours into the move, the movers told me that they had not brought any wardrobe boxes at all. I had to leave the move, drive to Home Depot myself, and purchase boxes so we could continue. I ended up spending approximately $120 out of pocket for boxes that should have been provided as part of the service. This was particularly frustrating because the request had been made in advance and the boxes were part of what was agreed upon. The move was initially quoted at 5 hours but ended up taking 7 hours, I had to pay $400 more. Part of the delay was because the movers did not bring the proper tools to disassemble some of the furniture, despite the fact that I had sent pictures beforehand. They had to borrow my tools, which I didn't mind, but they left them all over the place. The travel time was also much longer than expected. The two locations are approximately a 30-minute drive apart, but it took them about 1 hour and 23 minutes to get to the new location. This contributed to the additional labour time and cost, meaning I ultimately paid for two extra hours. At the new place, the furniture was not properly unwrapped or set up. Much of it was simply left wrapped in the protective film, scattered the garbage in the rooms. I understand that moving can be unpredictable and that not every move will go perfectly. However, given my excellent experience with Ninja Movers in 2019, I specifically chose them again because I trusted their service. This time, I ended up paying approximately $120 for boxes that should have been provided, paying for two additional hours of labour, and dealing with several issues that could have been avoided with better preparation. It's unfortunate because I genuinely wanted to have the same positive experience I had in 2019, but this move fell well short of that standard.
