I purchased a Groupon for eyelash extensions. I would have written a review on Groupon, but the…read moretechnician honored the Groupon deal by having me make the purchase through her directly. Anyway, I should have known that it was a bad mistake when I arrived. The salon is beautiful, but there was no bed to lay down for the technician to do my extensions. Instead, I was asked to sit at the washing chair for 1 1/2 hours while she applies the extensions on me. It was uncomfortable and unbearable. I've had my eyelashes done before-- all on a bed. Doing it on a washing chair was painful for my neck. It would have been nice to know this beforehand. In addition, my eyelash extensions started to fall off on the second day. It's been a week and 3 days now since I got my extensions, and more than half has fallen off. They're supposed to last for 4-6 weeks. Maybe it was because she did it in 1 1/2 hour, when it usually takes 2 hours? Maybe she was inexperienced? I don't know. I just know that it wasn't because of me. Like I said, I have gotten my eyelashes done plenty of times before, so I know how to take care of them. I know not to get it wet within the first 24 hours. I know not to go to a sauna within the first 48 hours. I know not to put any kind of makeup on or near my eyelashes. I know to only use oil-free eye makeup remover. I know not to pull them out or play with them. It's very unfortunate that I have to write this review, because the technician was really kind. I will not be returning for her services.

The cut was very fast/short. At times he seemed more interested in what was going on on the flat screen televison on the wall. There were lots of "pauses" in between snips and cuts. He took no hair off the top, just sides. The end product actually looked pretty good (I guess he can cut hair in his sleep, he's been doing so long), as good as where I normally go. I think they probably cater to an older crowd who like to hang out and shoot the "bull", so to speak. At $12 a cut you can't beat it.

We strictly went to men's barber shops! Even I avoided these businesses! I wasn't being macho or anything like that at all! Boys and men weren't especially welcome in beauty shops thirty years ago and people found it strange when they encountered it!
