I went to my parents' house afterward, and my mom gasped, "That is a REALLY nice cut." I have also had her straighten my wavy hair and it still had a ton of body, despite using the flat iron on it. The downside is that the cuts were a bit pricy for my budget, and I like it when stylists take a bit longer. More recently, I was going to Sharon when I was in Ottawa. Sharon is young, hip, and often has crazy hair, but never did anything wild to me at all (I was a grad student and wanted low-maintenance hair). Usually I would tell her in vague terms what I wanted, but once I had a picture... and forgot it at home. Somehow she still figured out exactly what I wanted, and it was perfect. This is only actually your scheduled appointment time too, if the person before you took longer and you're seen later as a result of that also expect to be dinged with this fee. I would suggest to the business just to add a price breakdown on the website with the costs for cuts at each length with each level of hair stylist just to allow for customers to be more well informed before coming in and so that nothing is a surprise! Laura (my stylist extraordinaire) assured me upon booking that it would be a breeze, and she was right. This location is super conveniently located next to a pay and display parking lot. The prices are totally reasonable, and they have short term (2 hour max) and long term (whole day) options available. What a relief! Leading up to my appointment I had been indecisive, to say the least. Laura was patient and helpful with helping me to decide on a look that was close to what I pictured, but also achievable in one shot (I tend to want really big changes that take many, many procedures, and Laura always manages to help me get as close as possible in one go so that I don't leave disappointed). The rest is pretty standard- I have dark hair and had booked in for highlights and color, so my visit was fairly lengthy. While I was there staff was polite and friendly, and it was very clear they have positive relationships with their clients. One of my friends came to meet me and was so impressed she herself is looking forward to her own visit in the near future. If you're looking for a good spot for a cut or colour, hit this place up. My brother in law suggested Lasting Impressions because he has been going there for years. I also had a coworker suggest this hair salon, I took a leap of faith and decided to go ahead and book an appointment. The receptionist was extremely friendly and was able to fit me in for the evening. When I arrived at the salon, I was received with a cordial salute, the receptionist was super nice and she was trying to get to know me better. Since I love talking I just had fun telling her about myself. I was paired with Joe who took the time to examine my hair needs and styled my hair to suit my face shape. I was given a VIP treatment, I cannot say enough about my experience. I still ave to drop by to buy my hair treatment..I can't wait to go back.

I dealt with both Aline and another hairdresser. Bleach bath was left on too long causing burning to my scalp and further damage to my hair follicles and breakage followed by rough combing/tugging of wet hair. My hair was literally falling out everywhere including on my lap and the salon floor. It has taken me weeks and a lot of tlc and expensive products to replenish some of the health and moisture that was lost in the process. I was so in shock that despite a price increase at the cash after the process was completed (that was different than initially quoted) I paid the bill. I just wanted to get out as quickly as possible.

The décor is understated and classy - and the salon has a feeling of calmness when you walk in. They seem to have a loyal clientele - and you may need to book as much as two weeks in advance if you want certain times of the day. (I tend to go in the morning and it's still a consistent 3 day wait.) I've only had haircuts - and only with Odalia, whom I adore. I have 'problem hair' and she always does a beautiful job.
