She worked absolute miracles and I fully trusted her to do whatever she thought would be best for my hair and style. As long as I live in this area I will absolutely continue seeing her, or any of the other professionals working there because I have been so impressed so far. There's a small parking lot in the back, along with a bit of street parking in front. They have some products for sale in the store but I believe if there was something in particular you liked they could give you the name or order it for you. Everyone greets you when you walk in and on my first visit I got a tour. They offer drinks during your appointment. Every shampoo includes a scalp massage that will have you drifting off to sleep. It's important to walk into a salon and feel comfortable so that you can confidently describe what you want. There is always a consultation before anything is started, we always review what was done last time to see what worked and what didn't. I love feeling beautiful when I walk out.

The girls are great and are very nice; however, the last few times I've been I haven't been completely satisfied with my cuts/color. I chalked some of it up to me looking for more modern styles and cuts than the Union gals typically do, and since I trusted them for so long to do my hair, I liked it enough that I continued to go for a while. My most recent appointment was for a full highlight with Karalisa, which any color requires a deposit (totally fine! I don't mind!) I put down the deposit and looked forward to my color. The week of, I had something come up where I would be out of town the day of my scheduled appointment. I initially called 4 days before my appointment to let Karalisa know that I would need to reschedule, and there was no answer at the phone. I left a voicemail and figured I'd get a call back soon enough. Fast forward a day and I still didn't receive a phone call back, so I called again. Again, no answer, so I left a voicemail. Another day goes back with no call back and I had to call for a THIRD time and leave a voicemail. I was getting a little nervous at this point because I had been trying to reschedule my appointment for days now with no call back, and didn't want to be charged an additional fee for needing to reschedule. Karalisa finally called me back the day before my appointment and apologized for not calling sooner stating that she had been busy (totally get it!) The problem I had is that I was then informed that I would have to pay an ADDITIONAL non-refundable deposit of 50 dollars to reschedule my color, and that the initial deposit was basically lost now. When I asked about it, I was told FOR THE FIRST TIME that if you reschedule your appointment the week of, you need to put down an additional color deposit, which would've been nice to know when scheduling. By the time Karalisa had called I was already out of town or else I would've just went in to avoid losing that money. Like I said, the girls at Union are very talented and are very kind, but this interaction put a sour taste in my mouth unfortunately and I have since found another stylist. I think Union needs to work on communication with clients, because if I would've received a call back within 24 hours (or even 48) then I would've been able to avoid this whole fiasco.

This place has been around for about 12 or 13 years apparently and the energy and creativity this place has is really great. It's bright and decorated for christmas. The owner has Elf playing on repeat while i wait for my highlights to set in. The team was funny and welcoming and my color turned out amazing. The price was about $100 cheaper than i've usually paid in the past. For highlights, lowlights, and a trim, my total was $90!!!!! I am screaming with happiness and staring at my receipt in disbelief!!! Also the products they use support keeping local farmers in business and it's all natural ingredients.
