The receptionist didn't make any calls to indicate they actually tried hard to find someone else. They advertise walk-ins so this was very disappointing seeing as I had an appointment, and have a health issue that prohibits me from driving so I had to take a day off of work, work out a ride, and have an event tomorrow which is why I made my appt for that day/time. On top of that, I was not offered parking validation (which they normally do), so I ended up paying for no services provided.

The woman I had spoken to on the phone came out of the back room. She was walking slowly. She stated she had fallen the night before and was injured. She moved very slowly and did my manicure and pedicure first. She made little attempt to make conversation. She did not know her own polishes very well and seemed very discombobulated. The manicure and pedicure were less than stellar. She did not ask if I needed my nails to be cut shorter. She did not trim my cuticles at all. My finger nails are unevey shaped and poorly painted. There is paint on my cuticles and naked strips around my edges. There was no attempt made to partially dry them before applying cuticle oil. Overall very disappointed and absolutely not worth the price.

She did the color (root only) and added about 7-10 highlights. Rushed thru this. Washed my hair and without a full blow dry (or trim as I asked for) she told me I'd have to come back another day for maybe lowlights a style and cut?!? I was EXTREMELY understanding of this woman's time. Was I happy -NO. But I understood. Perhaps she overbooked? However I called in and made an appointment. If she could not take me that day at 130 for the services I asked for then she should have told me so!?! Her friend had driven 2hrs so I was pretty understanding. However, I was also a paying customer. $160 later with hardly a blow dry. No trim. No style I walked out . I then Saw my hair in the natural light and have been upset since. I tried to call for 2days. Nobody answered. I finally got thru today at 9:45 am (sat.) and explained I need her to fix this. I have graduation this week. Lots of family events , lots of pictures. I went back and forth between splurging on it or just doing it myself, but I can confidently say it was worth EVERY penny to get it done by these lovely ladies!! Lexi did my hair and makeup trial, then my makeup the day of the wedding. Ashayna and Christin were also part of my bridal dream team and they absolutely killed it. My sisters, mom, and I were all over the moon with how our hairstyles and makeup turned out. This is a lot coming from someone who doesn't normally wear makeup and didn't want to look super caked up on my big day. The salon is adorable and we bought a bunch of products for our hair, purses, and hair clips while we were in for our services. Upon walking in, i was greeted immediately and was given a new client envelope filled with coupons to use in the future. That was awesome! I saw Erica. I had already seen her work on IG and she is AMAZING!!! I was scheduled for a blowout, but when she saw my hair (which another stylist at another high end salon) had don't to my hair, she asked me if I wanted her to shape it up. She knew immediately what the other stylist had done. I have thin hair, and Erica brought it back to life with a little of her magic. Not only does my hair look fuller, but it now has shape to it. She is very knowledgeable and makes you feel so at ease. I'm going back Friday for color and I'm so excited!! I would definitely recommend Erica. Went in and got a manicure & pedicure from Mia. I showed her a picture of what I would like and she was absolutely wonderful. She has AMAZING talent. She didn't use any stencils to draw the nail art on, she did it freehand. She is a perfectionist and made sure my nails were cleaned up with no hangnails or skin around my nail beds. My pedicure was just as BEAUTIFUL. She also is a wonderful person to talk to and you can tell she loves what she does. Since getting these done, I had numerous people stop me and tell me how beautiful my nails and pedicure look. I had some difficulty locating the salon but a quick call to Tennille and she was able to give me clear directions. The salon is located on a business park that looks like a former apartment complex. Don't let the exterior fool you on her quality because it's exceptional. I got my hair shampooed, dried, and cut. She also applied a protein treatment. Everything came to about $200 before tip andincluding the hair moisturizer that I decided to purchase. Finding a hair stylist that is attentive and understanding can be tough, but I've found that in Hair Counselors. I will definitely be back!

If you're blonde, or light DO NOT go to Jenny or Lily. i came into the salon to get my medium brown roots touched up to match my platinum blonde hair. I had an appointment with Lily and left with yellow, uneven roots, and pretty intense banding especially around my hairline. I then contacted the salon by phone and had no response for 3 phone calls. I live nearby so i drove over. I definitely was upset and had an attitude but even from the start i was just trying to kinda laugh through it and i had a very aggressive worker named i believe John (who is not a colorist) continuously tell me me what my hair needs, as well as say to me "they aren't just gonna give you a refund because you don't like your hair now." and after some choice words on both ends i was told to not come back. I then left obviously, got a text from Jenny to fix it (even though i just wanted a refund) and came in the next day to fix it. Jenny did a much better job, but not a good one. The color i was left with was this pastel yellow roots and banding, as well as uneven from front to back. I do also believe my hair was styled to conceal the banding and unevenness. I texted and called to no response for days. I bought a red ken purple shampoo and conditioner (which i was also later recommended to get a purple shampoo to "fix the fixed hair" and the shampoo definitely didn't take well to the roots, obviously not their fault, but you can visibly see the levels of blonde are different (rest of photos) especially towards and front and sideburns. the salon was closed until tuesday (it's currently thursday) and after calling yesterday 10 times due to no one responding to a single call or text message, as well as the door being locked at 11am when they are open from 10-5 with no explanation. (i believe the number is automated for texts) I finally got a call back today where i was told i could either have them tone it, dye my roots back to my brown color also done by them, or i could essentially just forget about it. I was also told by the owner that I was harassing them, and that a police officer client was there while i was calling (yet they still couldn't answer) and told them it was harassment. So not only essentially threatening me with that, saying they had it all on cameras and body also felt like a threat so now i can't go back in the owner also blurted out she'd refund only my tip and then she hung up on me and refused to answer the phone afterwards. I was beyond willing to work with them, and even gave them a second chance but why would i go back to have them fix it when they've screwed it up 2 times?? BEYONDDDDD unprofessional.

I've never been there, but I was able to get a same-day appointment. And voila! I got my long locks chopped up to my shoulder for the summer...and reclaimed my bangs I let grow out during the pandemic. I had a great experience at Appearances and would highly recommend. Prices are reasonable and my stylist was very skilled. I'm am thrilled with my summertime cut and plan to return in a couple of weeks to possibly go a bit shorter (you know, on that morning when I wake up brave enough to do it!). My experience at Appearances was very good, better than I've had at my former salon of Tangles.
