It was an opportunity to try Smashburger for the first time. There are ones close to where I call home, but this one was sitting in front of me and I needed something to eat before a much later dinner, so in I dove. The menu seems more complicated than it should be and unless you have perfect vision you are not going to read the details from anywhere in something called a waiting line. With that said, I went simple and though the Double Bacon Smash was top billed, the smaller price listed is for the single. For me, hold the pickle and onto the waiting side I went. Nothing was quick about the place. There were only two people in front of me, and it took a while to place their orders, and then you needed to wait for your number to be called. Hey, for "fast food" I'll wait a little longer for it to be made to order. As for the burger itself, it was good. It was thick enough to actually have a 'doneness' to it, and it was somewhere in the medium well range. Though I generally do not frequent fast food, this is a place I would certainly go to again if the circumstances made it come true. I sampled the fries as well -- just the plain ole fries -- and they were okay. It was the worst experience I've ever had!!!!!!! I was with a party of 10 . We went to Del Largo Casino in Tyre, NY. After 1 hour from ordering we still did not have our food. And, it's supposed to be a fast food restaurant. Lol! The staff was completely horribld. One young staff flipped me off & threw a burge at me!!!!! She flipped out because I asked another staff member for the corporate number!!!! They would not give me any phone numbers or names of the employee that was snapping or thea general manager or be a corporate number . They lied to me and told me the general manager was in the back and would come and talk to me. It ended up she told me she was a shift manager . It was pure Traumatizing!!!! We stopped over for some lunch while at the casino with my family. The staff seemed pretty annoyed to be serving us. They told me it would be a wait for sweet potato fries, but I said that was okay and I would wait for them. After waiting for my fries for a few minutes, the same staff member came over and asked me if I wanted to order. I told her I had and was waiting for my order. She seemed to get pretty annoyed and said if I am not actively ordering, I needed to sit down. I found that pretty weird as nobody else was in line, and I was out of the way. I had been in the del Lago Casino and opted to stop at Smash Burger before leaving. There were some folks staring at the menu, but nobody in line so I put in a quick order for a Truffle Mushroom Swiss Burger to go. Once you pay, you can stand to the side for them to call out your name when your order is ready. It didn't take too long for my order, and I took my burger and walked out to the car. I checked the burger once I got in the car though, and couldn't believe how much oil already seemed to be at the bottom of the plastic container - and how soggy the bun was already getting. Not wanting to end up with a barely edible burger bun, I just opted to try to enjoy the burger before leaving the parking lot... but it was so greasy, and the burger barely stayed together. While I enjoy a good mushroom burger, the one I got from Smash Burger was a greasy mess. If I was ever going to eat from here again - though I likely won't - I'd eat in the dining area in the casino right after getting my order. And as others have said, don't order soda or coffee from Smash Burger itself. Plenty of beverage stations around the casino floor have those beverages available at no cost. read more

If I could give this business a negative star, I certainly would. Location at Del Lago Casino. The girl at the register waiting on us was extremely angry and it looked as though she had one person in back helping her. I was compassionate and told her I hoped her day got better. I ordered an avocado club grilled Chicken sandwich. She told me it would take 15 minutes to cook and she was the only person there. I told her it was ok. She walked over to a screen by the back serving window and yelled "4" like a maniac and all of us in line looked at each other like jeez!? No one knew what she was yelling like that or to whom. We waited about 20 -25 min min. For our food. I opened up my greasy bag of food and my sandwich was missing Mayo, bacon(the main ingredient) and onions. The sandwich itself cost $11.49 and fries were $4.39. Expensive sandwich for it to not be made properly. I go up to the counter and there was a man there complaining about his Being wrong. The young man at register had an attitude and was arguing with the customer who was table 15, (we were table 8) telling him, "Well, I didn't take your order, and your gonna have to pay extra for that burger...". The customer is upset because his order was wrong and he also paid quite a bit for it. The young man comes back over to the customer with a tray and a bun with lettuce, Tom, and onion. The customer says I want the whole sandwich, this is not what I told you! The young man takes the tray tosses the burger bun and fixings in the trash and then chucks the tray in the kitchen . I finally say excuse me, I realize you are having a rough time here but my sandwich is missing bacon.... And ... I couldn't even finish my sentence. He was not acknowledging me this whole time I was standing there. It was obvious I had an issue and he could see me. He never said anything to me or even looked me in the eyes. He just continued to wait on other people. "I finally said hello, are you just going to keep ignoring me? It's obvious I have a problem!" He goes" I ordered your bacon. " I go, " you never told me that, and that wasn't the only issue." Then another girl comes out from the kitchen rolling her neck around running her mouth and yells "what's your point?" I'm just like wow, I can't believe what is happening here. I just got upset and wanted to be done with this experience. It's quite obvious that this restaurant has a common theme with employees by all of these reviews. I didn't even want the food anymore. I started to go back to my seat and my fiancé saw the same girl come back from the kitchen rolling her neck around talking smack to him and he got upset. He never says anything. So he went back up there and the manager comes out to try and talk down to my fiancé when her employees were clearly in the wrong. Someone should pull the video tape from that experience. I have my receipt and the time this all took place in my telephone. I should be sent a check and be reimbursed for the food and extra for the disgusting way the employees treat customers while under pressure. PrettY sad. read more

Traveling through, had to pay toll on and off the exit. Make the long loop, park and get to the entrance to be told that there is no entry but through the casino! This Smash Burger is conveniently located right on the floor of the del Lago Casino. It is next to Ciccino's Pizzaria & Paninoteca and a Moe's Southwest Grill. Here is a helpful tip for you. If you plan on having your order with a soda or coffee, don't purchase it from Smash Burger. Free sodas and coffee are available from several beverage stations around the edges of the casino floor. Our Avocado Club burger and Spicy Jalapeño burger were both good. The extra crispy bacon on the jalapeño burger was especially enjoyable. The fries were good also. read more

Can't make sense of the low ratings, but maybe I just went on a good night. I had also had a few glasses of wine before in the casino so was in a good mood. There are only like 3 choices in the food court, Moe's which had no customers (rightfully so) Ciccinos pizza which was really busy and smashburger. I'm a plain kind of guy so went with a basic smashburger and a side order of fries. Total came out to $10.79 which is totally reasonable for a casino where stuff is usually overpriced. This was my 1st time at a smashburger so had high expectations and they delivered. The burger was what a burger should be, perfectly juicy, seasoned and charred. The fries were hot, crisp and salty. The Smashburger is located in the Del Lago Casino and restricted to individuals who are of legal age to enter (21 years). Take out is available. We were impressed by the exceptional food handling by the young man who served us. He used clean gloves before each contact moment of food, and after handling cash. The service was efficient and courteous and our classic burgers were delicious and made to order. The prices are similar to the New Jersey airport menu. Terrible service. When they got my fiancé's order wrong, she waited several minutes while the cashier paid her no mind. He addressed another customer's concerns, then barely acknowledged her stating her complaint. They had started making the bacon..not that they told us what they were doing. No communication. They did not address missing onion or mayo. They were short, rude, and dismissive. The one girl seemed like she was gunning for a fight. I walked away and I could see her looking at me and speaking aggressively. I was pretty upset at this point so I walked over to see what else she hd to say. Worse than McDonalds. We are on a road trip and looking for a place to eat dinner that is better than McDonalds. Smash burger popped up on the gps. It is in a casino which is fine. We waited in a not moving line and watched the lady behind the counter struggle to do her best. People in the kitchen looked annoyed through the food window. At one point the desk lady needed help moving a large box and nicely asked the lady in the kitchen. The kitchen lady cam out and dramatically moved a box of ketchup packets, showing all the costumers that she was not happy to be there. We finally got to the cash register and they took our order. The prices were inflated compared to every other smash burger I have been to, but maybe that is a casino thing. Food came out quickly (considering). The burgers looked like landslides and were extremely greasy. Most all the toppings had slid off the burger and onto the tray (assuming they were ever on the burgers in the first place. My avocado club came without avocado... I didn't dare bring it back to the counter because I was convinced the ketchup lady would spit in my food if I complained. If I could give this place less than 1 star, I would. Some friends and I went to see Joe Gatto at del lago and we wanted to get some burgers before the show. The show started at 8. We ordered our food at 7:20. It then gets to be 7:55 and we still don't have our food. We told the lady at the register that we have to go to the show and she said our food wasn't even close to being ready yet and then told us to hold onto our receipts and we can get our food after the show. The show was over at about 9:30 and we went back to get our food and they hand us our bags of food that have been sitting out on the counter probably for at least an hour. We asked them to remake our food fresh and the lady says "my manager won't let us remake it because we are so busy" so we said "you need to refund us then" and she said "my manger says I can't do that either." So we told her to bring the manager out. The manager comes out and we tell her that we waited 35 minutes for our food and it wasn't ready by the time we had to go to the show and that when we came back, they tried to give us food that's been sitting out. She said to us "well you left instead of waiting for your food." And we told her that the lady at the register told us we could come back and pick it up as long as we had our receipts. Which we did. The manger then says "you want me to remake all 4 of your orders when I have a line of people waiting? No thanks." So we told her "you better refund us then." And she said "I'm not refunding you because you walked away and didn't wait for your food. If you have a problem with it then you can call corporate." She then THROWS OUR FOOD AT US and walks away from us and goes to the other register and yells out "anyone who actually wants to order food can come over to this register!" So we yelled out to her "what's your name?" And we had to ask her about 5 times before she finally mumbled "Michelle" and that's probably not even her real name. We then tried to go to customer service for Del Lago and asked to speak with a manager for the restaurants. They told us that out of the 3 restaurants there, smashburger is the only one that is independently owned and they have nothing to do with them. OF COURSE. So now we have to wait till Monday and try to call corporate to get refunded. We better get refunded because it was $25 for a burger and fries which is insane. Also? If your whole reason for not remaking our food is that you were "too busy" YOU SHOULD'VE PUT MORE EMPLOYEES ON THE SCHEDULE. it's a Saturday night, at a casino, and there is a big comedy show going on. Don't walk into Lago casino hungry cause this place is horrid. Do yourself and dine elsewhere. Family of four went in lunch and paid $75 for crap. We each got a single burger with medium fries, plus milkshake. Total was $75 (yes I'm serious) They wouldn't accommodate a gift card we received for christmas. I was given a milkshake that was literally half full, went up the counter and she offered to pour more milk into. What's she did is fill the cup a quarter of the way and then cover it up with whipped cream due to running low on shakes. Whipped cream settled to discover a less than half full cup. $6.99 for that nonsense! I wanted a shake not a glass of milk Deborah. Return to the table to realize the burger I requested no tomato on, indeed has tomatoes on it. Another trip to the counter. I wish we had told them to cancel the order from the start when she said $75. Severely overpriced and honestly MCDonalds is much better. Save yourself the money and eat elsewhere. This is a burger chain. Since this one is set up as counter service in a food court (at the new Del Lago Casino), it's set up is not like their complete chain restaurants. They will not deliver to your table, but call out your name. You will have remove your trash, instead of their staff. They will get your soft drink, instead of serving yourself. The menu is only their partial menu, but only missing a few items. Food still the same quality and great taste. Service was good. If you don't want a taco or pizza, this is where you go for a good fairly quick burger, while at the casino. If you want to save a bit, grab a soft drink from one of free casino areas and just bring it over, to go with your food. Worth checking out. read more
