This was a stellar experience and a must do! My church…read moregroup organized this event, and I decided to go. My mom was in town, so she tagged along. Mind you, my Mom is in her 70s, and she enjoyed herself, so axe throwing can be enjoyed by people of all ages! The location is off 59. If you're not looking for it or have never been there before, you may miss it, so definitely GPS it. The location has adequate parking as well as lighting so I felt safe. From the outside, the place doesn't look that big, but it it pretty spacious inside with several axe throwing lanes towards the side and back. What I didn't expect was the jumbo size board games tossed around the front. Mom and I indulged in Jenga waiting for the rest of the group to arrive. They also had jumbo size connect four as well and a seating area which is great to just chat and kick back with some friends while coming here. HAT also serves a little alcohol but I passed on that indulgence since you know throwing an axe does seem to be an activity that requires sobriety in my opinion. Once more, food is not served here, so don't bring an appetite before throwing them axes! Before your axe throwing experience, you do receive a tutorial. Ashley did a great job sharing tips and do nots to keep everyone safe. She floated around and checked on group the entire hour we were there as well as gave a tutorial for a few people who arrived after the first group tutorial. Very helpful and friendly as well as offered assistance to those who just couldn't get that axe to stick in the board. As far as the axe throwing is concerned- what a blast! You definitely will have more fun if you take someone who is competitive. Once more, the larger the group the less throws you get to have within your hour so keep that in mind. Afterwhile, we just allowed people to go when the axe was free and people kept up with their own points. My mom must have thrown a few axes in her life because she was hitting targets super easy! It took me a little time to get comfortable with throwing the axe and figuring out how much distance I needed as well as strength to get the axe to stick, but I think everyone goes through that their first time. Time flies when you're having fun and the hour axe throwing experience was over before I knew it, but lots of laughs (and arguments--in fun lol) were made with our memories of this place. HAt is a definite must do if you're looking to do something different. Just make sure you have a photographer ready to take pics of you hitting your target! Also, for a great photo opportunity, ask for the giant axe to pose with. Good times and good memories for all!

The good news is that I know pretty much every one of our department leaders. So even though I didn't get to work with my husband or sister, I did end up with three other family members, our pastor, his mom, my bestie, and another friend. We all worked really well together and we made it out with not much time to spare. We had a few setbacks because one of the puzzles got messed up causing us to have to use a hint and also setting us back a little bit. Doesn't matter, we made it! We did the neon/black light room. It was fun... dark, of course, but very fun! There were two rooms involved so when you finished one, you had to do the other in order to escape. My husband's group did the stranger things themed room and I don't know anything about it because we can't share secrets of course (in case we go back and switch rooms) but I do know there were three rooms involved in theirs, and there was a demigorgon in one room. He said it was fun. We had a pretty large group so having 7 people in one group and 8 in the other might seem like too much, but it wasn't bad. I will say that the room we did could've been done with less people, but there weren't too many of us so it was fine. (I was in the group of 7.) Our guide was very friendly and helpful. He was knowledgeable and explained everything we needed to know ahead of time. I never knew this place was here. It's literally right across the Hwy from our church. I'm glad I know about it now because I would definitely come back here again, and I'm hoping we do something else like this in the future. I love escape rooms.

The Escape Game company has really set the bar high for me! Some other places really have visitors…read morerely on their imagination and can feel kind of cheesy, but here, they do a fantastic job with building the rooms to make things feel more immersive and realistic. Clues are unlimited and given without penalty if needed. Most clues/puzzles are straightforward (can still be challenging but seems like people could eventually figure them out), but there have been one or two where we all agreed they were a stretch... Still fun! For newbies, the Gold Rush room is a fun introduction on the easier side that can easily be done without hints. Escape rooms are great to play and then discuss over a meal after, and they make a great team-bonding experience! If you have some extra time, you can play another game afterwards for a discount on the same day :D The only thing I can find fault with: if you have less than 8 players, then there may be other groups joining you. So if one wants to guarantee a completely private game, they'll have to book out 8 spots. Other places don't have that rule, so if that's not an option, look for the game rooms in the suburbs (namely, in Sugarland!). There's also another location at City Center that has even more rooms! I'm pretty sad that we've pretty much played all the games over the years, so I'm really hoping they swap in some new rooms... fingers crossed! The Escape Game continues to be my favorite escape room, so whether you're a newbie or a pro, do check them out!

Looking for something fun and exciting? This is definitely the place! Came here with some friends…read moreon a Wednesday and had such a great time. There's free parking in the garage (upper level), which made things easy. When we walked in, we were greeted right away and got checked in while waiting for our time slot. The waiting area was clean and had some photo opportunity spots. Our game master, Brianna, came over and gave us a quick rundown since it was my first time, which I really appreciated. As soon as we entered the room, I noticed how clean and well-organized everything was. The props were also well taken care of, making this whole experience super immersive. Brianna was really helpful and gave us hints at the right moments whenever we got stuck. There were multiple layers to the puzzles, which made it more exciting and less predictable. It truly kept us engaged the entire time. It ended up being such a great escape room experience for me, and even my friends who have done others said this one stood out. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something fun to do with friends!
