In 2006 Haverford Township sold the property to a developer with requirements that part of the land be kept for public recreation. These 5 miles of trails are the result, along with a rec center, dog park and athletic fields. On an unusually warm winter day Sheba and I went for a hike along the trails. We entered by the rec center, then followed the creek bed to the meadow & back. We passed a pollinator garden and some disc golf sites. It's a lovely hike any time of year. Trail markings are minimal, this would be the principal reason for a 4 star review. We could see the heavy autumn rains have taken a toll in a decent amount of trail erosion, leaving mazes of roots spread across the paths. As the property borders a busy highway we never quite got to the peaceful sounds of the deep woods. I highly recommend you have a photo of the trail map with you as it's not hard to get turned around. Wear good sturdy shoes, and a walking stick is not a bad idea. We swill definitely be back.

There were only 5 of us, so plenty of time to climb. Our Guide, Bob, was so patient, engaged and informative. I learned a lot of great things that I had not known before about clothing, ropes and technique. Bob was so patient with me and was there with his " green pointer" to help me over the tough spots. You should know that I am 74 years old and tho I have climbed indoors for a few years, my stamina was not that of the youngsters who were there! Nonetheless, it was a great time! I highly recommend Valley to Summit, this being my 3 rd trip with them. They Rock!

He asked a few questions, then determined that it should be OK for me to go on the hike. Shortly before the hike we received an email from Dave saying that because of the warm weather the trip would not have as much ice as it normally does. He offered to reschedule or refund our money if we wanted, but also said we could go if we wanted. We wanted. When I got there Dave and the guides were fantastic. Very personable. They were helpful but without being intrusive. One of them carried one of my forearm canes in his backpack in case I needed it. (This was to have one hand free for the ice axe.) The hike was great. At the end of the hike I asked one of the guides if he thought I could do the repelling they offer... he conferred with the owner and the lead repeller guide, and they agreed that I would be allowed to do that in the Spring. I highly recommend Valley to Summit for a great time. I look forward to a full day ice hike in February.

After 3 visits to this community pool with my best friend, I'm definitely jealous of her summers…read moregrowing up there. They have a dedicated lap pool with 6-8 lanes (sorry, can't remember). This is a plus for those of us who don't just splash around, but go for the workout. Every weekday morning from 6:50-10:30, the lap pool is open for the perfect summer workout. Pull buoys and kickboards aplenty at no extra charge! Also, a permanent timing clock. There's a 1000 lap club, so you get public recognition once you've completed the feat. After 10:30, all the pools are open - the lap pool, the kiddie pool, and the main pool, which has plenty of space, including a water basketball hoop and 2 3M springboards. There's lot of grassy space and trees nearby, providing a respite from the hot concrete and blocking some of the sun. There are also tons of sun shades. Also, there's a nearby playground, and lots of picnic table space. Best of all, there is an annual water ballet. Talk about community building! Luckily, my BF's family is very generous with their passes, so I haven't had to pay for a guest pass, which I think is around $7.50. If you're in the area, find someone who's a member so you can join them for some R&R in the cool water. It's easier than finding a house with AC!

They have 3 pools... - Baby pool - The big pool - Adult only pool I usually head for the adult only pool, as it is more my speed, but I'll get in the big pool occasionally. I like that the big pool is usually a little cooler than the adult pool, I guess due to its size. Only draw back - if a kid poops in the baby pool, then it means the big pool is also closed while the pool people shock it. I reckon if there were one thing about the pool I'd change - I'd probably want it to have a little bit of a cooler vibe. Maybe some music or some such? But otherwise, it's great.

Came here as something to do with our kids. They had a blast. This is a pretty basic putt-putt…read moregolf. The courses aren't themed or anything. They offer a deal I believe it's for 3 games. It's a much better deal than just doing one game so we did that and will be back at some point. They have a few different courses with varying difficulty levels, we picked one of the easier ones since we had a 5 and 3 year old doing it. My kids enjoyed playing in the arcade after which had a good variety of games. They also have some type of snack bar you can get food at but we didn't get anything. Overall, it's a good place to bring your kids to entertain them for a few hours.
