Both he and Dr Kumar gave recommendations on changes and helped me to shape them in the best way.

Manteca Dental Care - Dr. Tran, Taylor Bowling (my hygienist), and me with my "beautiful teeth".

I had a wonderful experience (always) @ Manteca Dental Care…read more The clinic is modern and spotless. Staff at the desk is friendly and welcoming. Rosa, my Dental Hygienist was very gentle and informed me of everything she would do. And of course my dentist, Dr Tran was friendly, professional and knowledgeable and explained the dental X-ray done that day. Will definitely stay with them and recommend Dr Tran and the team of Manteca Dental Care.

After going to the same dentist in my hometown, I decided to try MDC due to the long commute from…read moremy old one. My first appointment/exam, doc said a tooth needs a crown. Sure, so we made the appointment along with a filling. Two weeks later, doc says that tooth suddenly needs a root canal after he asked if there was pain. **Mind you, I made it clear there was pain in the initial paperwork and at the very first appointment.** I was caught off guard and nervous but took the risk and went with the root canal on the spot. Days followed with excruciating pain and discomfort as expected from a root canal but the temporary crown was sharp along the sides, hurting my tongue and gums. I go to a different dentist (bc mdc isn't open weekends) who adjusted it for me and prescribed meds since I couldn't sleep for days due to the pain. Weeks later, the temporary crown breaks. I let them know it's broken and I'm told doc is on vacation the entire week but they have the permanent crown...so no one else is capable of putting one in except him, cool. (Later I was told the entire office was on vacation that week) So I went through that week with a broken crown, hoping it doesn't get infected. Final appointment, it was very busy in office. I wait 1 hour for doc and fell asleep in the chair (I've been up since 4:30am for work). I could hear another patient complaining and waiting to be seen as well. If you're going to be this busy, at least hire another dentist to help out instead of a dozen assistants. Adjusting the crown to my bite took ages. I give up and say it's fine (it wasn't, I was over it) so I could just ask a new dental office to adjust it for me. Majority of the staff and reception were super kind and attentive. The ones I made contact with via call/text made it seem like it was a chore to reach back to me at times. Shoutout to the long haired blonde assistant who helped me first, she's extremely kind and gentle with patient care. However, a different assistant that finished off my crown cleanup nearly cut my lip with the tool, overall seemed unapologetic, dismissive, wanting to go home type of mood (me too kid). I'm never one to "Karen" and complain at all but holyyy this was the worst dental experience I've ever had. If you need a root canal, go to an endodontist but anything else may get done well here...I won't be back though.

They went ahead of me. After a half hour or so, Ingrid came to take x-ray shots. It was somewhat difficult for me to open my mouth so wide but we got through it. Contrast that to another office in town where it seemed she had to take hundreds of images to get enough that were good. I was transferred to the dentist. It's somewhat private, not like the old style dental facilities but also not like one in Florida where there were six or seven of us side-by-side in a row of chairs. We talked about my situation and I explained a few things about my history with dentists. The dentist was surprised, but she was young and probably hadn't met bad dentists all that often. She went through the teeth and analyzed the problems, which were recorded by another person. After this process, she explained what could be done from fillings and extractions to implants and partial plates. I need a lot of work. This person who helped her record the analysis took me to her office. We discussed potential cost and how much Medi-Cal would pay. She put in the request for the deep cleaning and other procedure to be approved. She explained the prices, which of course, were not easy to accept, but understandable. She mentioned payment plans. I told her that I would have to go slowly. I'm going to return in a couple of weeks for fillings. Hopefully, by then, I'll have some idea of how to handle the other things on the list. They wanted to sell me something that would probably help my gums, but the cost was prohibitive. I'm guessing that they don't make much money with people on Medi-Cal but they should understand that the same people are struggling already. With each person, I was treated with respect, and asked if I had questions. No one rushed me or made me feel uncomfortable. Their equipment seems to be quite modern, like any that you would expect in a more expensive facility. I hope that my future visits will be positive. Update: The fillings visit was very good and things remained happy. We joked a bit and I found that the assistant came from an area toward the East Coast and we shared some food stories. The dentist's drill is probably the sound I really don't want to hear but it went well and I was okay with how quickly and smoothly everything went.
