Definitely my favourite spa in Vancouver for massages. The atmosphere is so relaxing, from the trickling water to the essential oils you can smell, they've done a really good job transporting you so you're relaxed before your treatment even starts. One thing I respect is they always give you your full time too, not like other places where you pay for a 60 minute massage but the first 10 minutes are them asking you questions or getting dressed and it's really only a 45 minute massage. No, they literally look at the clock once they start massaging and that's when your time starts. And everyone is great, I go to Hilary when I can, Miyako is great too, but honestly I've never had a bad massage there by anyone. The traditional thai massages are really nice, they give you clothing to wear and basically guide you into different stretches and push your body in ways that really stretch you out in the best way. Their aromatherapy massages are great too. If it's your first time I recommend the East to West as it includes a little bit of everything. read more

Upon reviewing several types of massage options I telephoned in and made a reservation. Very flexible on the reservations so I was able to book based on my time frame, a huge plus. So I arrived and completed a small work sheet regarding health stuff. A nice young lady showed me to waiting room and gave me some flip flops to walk around in. Moments later was escorted to a room to begin my spa treatment. Let the wellness begin. Started off face down and she preformed the ancient art of massage. I went into a trance due to the relaxation of my body but at some point the masseuse had gotten onto the table and was on my back massaging. Felt great and was legit, just have never had a person climb up before. Now I book a 90 minute or 2 hr massage so from scalp to feet she penetrated muscle points that needed worked up... At the end she shared our time was done and if I desired to go to the tea room it was down that hallway. I'd say she was amazing cause I felt great. Yod was amazing and helped a lot with tension on one side of my neck due to constant pain from a nerve injury caused by a dentist. I have come here many times with my sibs who are often looking for great foot or back massage therapy especially after spending all day walking or working. They don't seem to have foot massage so we go elsewhere for that but they do offer other massage therapy. As you walk in you smell the ginger and jasmine filled air and are instantly calmed by the quiet backdrop of Thai music and various statues and art in the lobby /entrance area. Trying to squeeze in a last minute massage with my family and they were able to take 3 of us with less than 24 hrs notice and a tight time frame, before heading home. Everyone was very welcoming. If you love Thai massages, this is the best one in the city imo. It's conveniently located and the spa itself is beautiful. Their prices are fair and the practitioners are kind, warm, welcoming and highly skilled. They work out pops and cracks I never knew were there. The massage "uniforms" they give you to wear for your session are always clean, soft and comfy, same with the sandals. They also have a beautiful and relaxing lounge with a selection of teas to rest after your massage. They have solo and couples rooms as well, and have always been receptive to requests as far as more or less pressure, in my experience. I've brought several friends here and they've quickly become dedicated lovers of the Thai yoga massage. I believe they also have an option for western style massage but I've never tried it because I'm so obsessed with their Thai massage. Siri was my masseuse, her expertise in acupressure helped ease my tight neck and shoulder muscles. The stretching techniques of the therapy improved my range of motion. My partner was relaxed after getting a deep tissue massage with Chia. What stood out for me is they serve tea and let you relax in the palm room after the massages. Highly recommend !! I booked here for my bf's birthday and it was no trouble at all. I originally emailed the spa and they responded fairly quickly. Since I needed to make a reservation and wasn't going to be there until 2 weeks later, I decided to book online through their website. It did require an additional step but 100% worth it. In order to book online, you would have to purchase a gift card for the specific massage / spa service and then email them with the gift card certificate. All you have to do is wait for them to process it and a confirmation email will be sent and you're pretty much all set. We arrived 15 minutes earlier to ensure we weren't late and they sat us down with some ginger tea and forms to fill out. After about 5 minutes, we were escorted to the washrooms and then our rooms. The room itself had a shower room so it's very private. I had the Signature Lotus Package which consisted of body scrub, full body massage and facial for about 3.5 hours. It was amazing ! What a wonderful massage place downtown! I've been here about 5 times now, and each time was a wonderful, relaxing, feel-good experience that left me feeling recharged. We scheduled an appointment via online by requesting the time frame. They quickly responded with their availability and i was able to call and reserve the slot. The price for a 1.5 hr couples massage was about $216 USD which is insanely good. The message therapists were also very good and gave me just enough pressure to be comfortable. After seeing all the great reviews on Yelp and TripAdvisor, I decided to try going for an RMT massage here. Booking was easy enough. All the available appointments are listed online and you can just call to book. Upon arrival, you fill out a short intake form and indicate the areas you'd like to focus on. There is a small waiting room with water for you to sit in. Then, the masseuse comes to get you and brings you to the treatment rooms. You have to remove your shoes and wear their slippers into the treatment areas. I noticed the intricate Thai decor which made the ambiance really nice. Once in the treatment room, you can discuss your problem areas in detail a bit more. Then the masseuse leaves you to undress, and you climb on the bed. The room was very clean and I liked how the bed was prewarmed. For $110, I got 60 minutes of RMT treatment. I asked for upper body only as my problem areas were mostly the shoulder and back. The pressure was good, and the masseuse I had said I could always ask for more or less. After the treatment, I was brought to the relaxation lounge where a mint tea awaited me. There aren't any other facilities to enjoy, so shortly after, I went to the lobby to pay. Once I got home, I must say that I didn't feel much of a difference. I felt just as tense as before. The massage felt good at the time; however, I guess the treatment didn't penetrate deeply enough even after 60 minutes. Overall, the experience was not bad and I had no issues claiming with my extended health benefits. But for the same price, I preferred my experience at Absolute Spa at Hotel Vancouver as they had more facilities to enjoy. I'm glad I tried it once, but I think once is enough! read more

I've reached the fortunate age where I seem to be capable of giving myself full-body soreness while just sitting on a plane. The soreness lasted 2 days until I decided it was time to do something. I had gotten a great massage from Smile Thai Wellness about 2 years ago, so I gave them a call and was able to schedule a massage with Siri for the next evening. Initially, I was a little anxious before calling out of concern for COVID. However, that was quickly resolved as I was told both staff and clients were required to wear masks. To say my massage experience with Siri was amazing would be a disservice to her. It was quite simply the best massage I've ever had! She was able to knead out all of the lumps and bumps which were, let's be honest, almost everywhere. I asked for medium pressure and it was just perfect. I left feeling like I was floating on clouds and slept better than I had in a LONG time. I was sore the next day but after that passed I was feeling great! A wonderful secret spot in downtown Vancouver! I have been here twice now and had great experiences both times. The spa seems low-key and a bit hidden away upstairs off the street, but once inside it's like stepping into another world. It's beautifully decorated and the ambiance is welcoming, cozy, and warm. The staff is very friendly, helpful and efficient. I also like that it is easy to book online. I don't usually have to book too far ahead either, which I appreciate. The massage therapists and reflexologists are fantastic - very skilled and strong. All the services I have had have a Thai flair (including the reflexology), if not fully traditional. The prices are very reasonable, on the cheaper end of spa prices, but the quality of the services is equal to anywhere else I have been. It might be a little bit noisy in the rooms at times (thin walls), but nothing too distracting. They always have relaxing music playing in any case. This place is pretty outstanding. I went four years ago on vacation and was introduced to Thai massage. I fell in love. I then tried to find its duplicate in the area of my hometown and nothing at all even came close. Before my husband and I came to Vancouver for a getaway, I easily booked a 60 minute Thai Massage online. It was so convenient to be able to book my massage on a booking site and then have someone email me confirmation. I did not have to make one phone call, which is very cool in my book. Any time I had questions, I got a prompt email reply. When I got to Smile Thai, I was impressed by their ambiance and decor. It smelled great and had a calm atmosphere. The receptionist who checked me in was friendly. I waited just a short moment before my therapist "B" came and got me. She was pretty straight to the point in her interactions and had very minimal words to me. She just needed to know the essentials, which was perfect for me. I'm so glad that I didn't have the pressure to make small talk during the massage. B was extremely competent and the massage was exceptional.
