    Chi @ Shangri-la: reception
    Cynthia M.

I did not have services performed. I was here being curious about the location. The aroma was luscious and the vibe was relaxing. I'm sure there was music playing but since I was freezing cold...my senses were still frozen. I was delighted to see the heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi being enjoyed by a family with child! Awesome...because I know this child will have a wonderful memory of cold weather associated with a luxurious hot tub and pool. The female spa staff member greeted me with a warm healthy hello (compared to the concierge on the main floor...who immediately told me the hotels amenities including the Vancouver area restaurant suggestions of the Shangri-la hotel were for hotel guests only...but she would assist me)...my head says a WTF kinda BS is that. The Ritz has never turned me down in any city or country I've been to and they've ALWAYS been 100% ready to assist because you might be there next guest!!! Anyway...I digress. I will most certainly come back to this location just because of the rooftop outside pool area.

My office treated us for a hot stone massage two Christmases running. Fantastic experience. Be sure to know in advance whether your in a single room or double room (couples room). You begin by going through a checklist (wants, wishes, health) then are seated in a reception area (they hang your coat). Then you are escorted to a more lavish waiting area with chocolate covered ginger, trail mix and fruity water surrounded by high end beauty skin products lining the shelving. Your planned assistant/masseuse is introduced and together you are led to the treatment room and then to each change room, shower shoes and robes pointed out, where to put belongings, what to listen for when to come out into the personal treatment room and to wait in the moist tile-lined steam room. The clang of the unseen bell goes off and you're to hang your robe on the peg, kick of flip flops abd crawl face down into the linen of the treatment bed. Waiting. And so it begins in peeled layers, moisturizing lotion, warmed smooth stones. Pressure. Amazing. The tinkling sounds winding into the room. Eventually you're asked to turn over and are delicately assisted. And before long sadly it must end. You are offered use of the steam room to finish (in your change room) then when done dress and return to the last waiting room to rejoin anyone you came with. A glass of champagne. If further access to the amenities offered are wished, and a bathing suit forgotten - they freely offer "temporary up to 5 uses disposable swim suits". They have an outdoor heated pool and outdoor hottub among other things. Fantastic

    Welcome!

Great massage. Easy to book online too. The masseuse was very attentive and focused on the areas I asked for. The massage rooms are impressive too. Sauna and men's change room was a little small. They have a small outdoor pool and jacuzzi for relaxing too. Add a juice bar and the gym and you got yourself the CHI!

Always heard good things about this place, so I booked a Saturday morning to visit with high hopes. There was not many other guests when I went, so it felt somewhat private. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the place was nice. However, I did find the spa quite small and didn't have as many facilities as other spas. If the place was more filled up, it would have felt crammed because there was only one working shower, and a few lockers available. They also didn't have a lot of refreshments for guests, just ginger tea and water. Next time if I'm looking for a luxury RMT service, I will go to Pacific Rim instead. This was a good experience, but not the best.

After massage tea and snack. Needed!

A Spa indeed! Compared to other highend hotel spas: The massage rooms have their own shower, change room with a stocked vanity - nice! Services are on par and on point for a high end Spa. The lounge area is small and is the same for those waiting for a treatment and those lounging in a robe. The small pool and hot tub are just across from the spa. You'd have to take your stuff over to the change rooms and then use the pool. For comparison, Willow Stream at the Pac Rim is larger but doesn't have a pool & the Change rooms are larger with steam rooms. 3 Stars. I'd rate the Spa at Envore Las Vegas a 5.

The spa feels smaller than those in other of the big chain hotels in Vancouver, which at first I was underwhelmed by, but by the end, actually liked that so few people, as I hardly saw anyone outside of the staff, so you really felt like you had the spa to yourself! They had a quiet lounge to sit before/after treatments, with a small amount of snacks (fruit, nuts, tea and infused water). The treatment itself was amazing, my spa technician was Rachel, and couldn't recommend her more, absolutely lovely, always checking in throughout the treatment, and felt so relaxed/at ease the whole time. I did find the prices a little steep, but honestly, the whole thing felt luxurious and will be back for another body wrap! I will note, you also had access to few valet parking, full gym, swimming pool and sauna with any visit, but I did not utilize any of those services.

I had a Rejuvenate Infusion Facial (50min/$175 CDN) at 9am so I had the whole place to myself! The…read morereceptionist greeted me right away where I was given a tour of the facilities and then shown to my locker which contained a robe, sandals and a bottle of water. Once I had changed, I was shown to the Relaxation Lounge where I was given a hot beverage made with black and green tea, raw honey, vanilla and spices. It smelled amazing and I am pretty sure I finished it all in one gulp! I was also given a hot hand towel that had been soaked in essential oils which I need to start doing at home because it was so soothing! The Rejuvenate Infusion Facial is an oxygen facial, which is a non-invasive facial where oxygen is delivered directly to the skin via compressed air. This was my first time getting an oxygen facial so I had no idea what to expect. Marisa, my spa therapist, for the morning warned me that I would feel cold, but that it was oddly soothing. In addition to oxygen, an intensely hydrating Intraceuticals serum, containing low molecular weight HA, would also be delivered to the skin. The actual delivery device looks like an airbrush pen with a little well on top for the serum to sit in. Marisa started by double cleansing with a Clarisonic which was very interesting to me as this was definitely something I have never seen in a spa environment before! As a bonus add-on, I also had on my face the Intraceuticals Rejuvenate Eye and Lip Masks which are filled with hydrolyzed collagen. After a few extractions, the actual oxygen part began! It basically felt like cold air being blown onto my face and while it began as a funny sensation, I felt myself relax as Marisa did every inch of my face. After doing half of my face, she asked me if I felt a difference and truth be told, I didn't really feel a difference until she gently flicked my cheeks and right away, the side with the infusion bounced back like one of those vending machine bouncy balls! The side without the treatment may as well have belonged to a corpse by comparison. The effects were IMMEDIATE! The actual experience at Sense Spa was wonderful though and I now have my eye on the Canadian Maple Pedicure! I think the next time I definitely want to take a friend because I was kind of lonely in the Relaxation Lounge. If you feel like indulging yourself a little, book an appointment with the lovely ladies at Sense Spa!

This private spa experience was gifted to me by a dear friend. This is the first time I've ever…read moredone a spa or self guided experience. In these pods, you can go solo or with one other person. Once you arrive, it is basically a shipping container that's been repurposed into a spa. There's a code you have to enter that's included in the welcome email. The staff greeted me and my partner warmly, and we were led to watch a 5 min instruction video. They explain the best way to use the spa pod - which includes a washroom/change area, shower, hot tub, hot rocks, cold tub, and sauna room. The spa pod section is actually outdoors, so there is no roof. It made for a cool experience as it was raining in November. I admit it got quite cold for me as the rain hit, but the hot tub was a nice haven. The washroom and shower section had towels and products for you to use, but I strongly advise that the product ingredients should be listed or provided somewhere in case anyone has allergies. I think that the products should all be unscented as well, to be safe for everyone. There was also no face wash, so I had to end up using the body soap on my face. My favourite section was the sauna with pink Himalayan salt rock walls. It was a hot sauna with light and air programming, to slowly dim lights overtime with music, until pitch black. This felt quite meditative and restorative. The lights slowly come back on after a while. There was also a hydration station, with hot and cold water taps, and peppermint tea provided for you. Nice touch! I don't know that I would visit again, if I had to pay for this experience, as I personally prefer a massage portion for full relaxation. It is also quite pricey for a 2 hour session. Nonetheless, this was a unique experience for me!

I went with my partner to this private spa experience and it was an interesting one! Relaxing! We…read morespent two hours here. It's located on Granville Island and there are six open-roofed shipping containers that have been converted into private spa experiences for one to two people. You enter the shipping container area using an unlock code that is emailed to you. Upon check-in, we watched a 3min 4sec video where a jarring robot-voiced lady walked us through the circuit. (Change the voice actor! lol) There are six sections: 1. Change room (Four body towels, two exfoliating towels, body lotion, face serum, hair dryer, and hand soap is provided.) Then you go into the open-air spa area. 2. Shower / cascading rain (There's only one shower so in the fall/winter, it's pretty cold if you're not the one under the shower head! Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided here. There is no face wash.) 3. Hot tub (Just what you would expect of a hot tub--it was really nice soaking in this tub and relaxing. Large enough for two average-sized women to sit/lie fully horizontal.) 4. Hot stones (Heated stones that you can lie, sit, or stand on. It's hotter in the centre! Really liked lying down on these stones too but it was raining on my legs as I lied here.. too cold!) 5. Cold plunge tub (A very cold tub.. I could only put my calves in lol.. Good for the brave of heart but that wasn't me in the already 3°C weather outside.) 6. "Wellness pod" (This space is completely enclosed and has Himalayan salt walls, heated wooden floors, and is similar to a sauna without the steam. There's nowhere to sit so bring a towel to use as a pillow for your head or bum. There's a button outside to start the "wellness" sequence and it's a 30 to 40 minute sequence where the lights dim to complete darkness. What an interesting experience! I had to take several breaks as it was too hot for me.) Within your time slot, you can use any section however you like--your own DIY spa experience. It's completely private as well so you can wear whatever you like (or not wear). Water and tea are provided. Stay hydrated! There are chimes throughout to remind you to start the "Wellness Pod" and to remind you of the end of your session. That way you can fully unplug and unwind. They say to not bring any of your own products but I find that ridiculous. They don't provide any options for people with sensitive skin, nor do they list any ingredients for any of their products. As a sufferer of contact dermatitis, I got so paranoid that I took Claritin after the experience. When I got home I also re-washed my face to use my own tried and true skincare products. Also, bring your own hair brush if you don't want to be a tangled mess afterward!! None are provided. Overall, I really liked the privacy this spa provided. It let me and my partner have a lot of fun and we were able to be our silly selves. Two hours was overkill for me though, next time I would book less time! Although, I don't know if I would pay again at their listed price.
