Let me start with a little background. I live in Dallas & have spent a small fortune with my dentist at home over the last 5 years when I started the process for the "perfect smile". I was less than fortunate when it came to good teeth genes. To no fault of my dentist at home; a tooth with a veneer on it broke a month ago. I panicked, ran to his office and was disheartened to learn the tooth couldn't be salvaged and I needed an implant. I was quoted $5900 USD. Between what I had already spent in my mouth and the anxiety of shelling out another $6,000; I called a friend of mine who suggested I find a dentist in Mexico. I don't know why I had never even thought of doing that. I've been vacationing in PV for over 10 years and felt most comfortable coming here. The search began & I ran across Smile Vallarta and read the reviews on Dr. Sanchez. I emailed his office immediately & we communicated back and forth probably 10 times where I was not only assured he could help me, but I was also quoted a price over email, which you would never get in the US. The price quoted was about 75% LESS than I was quoted at home. I'm lucky to travel weekly for work so I used points for a flight and booked a cheap hotel in the Romantic Zone and came in for 3 days for what I thought would just be a consultation. After doing X-rays; Dr. Sanchez advised against even needing an implant and said removing the K9 should be a last option resort and since my tooth broke below the gum line it was salvageable. We ended up doing a post & a temporary crown the same day. Not only that, his lab was closing in 10 min and no longer delivering the supplies he needed for my crown. He left, got in his own car and drove over there himself to pick up the items needed so he could get all this done for me in 2 days. He stayed until 7:30 last night working on my temp crown so that I would have a tooth for ONE night. He took my old crown to match the color perfectly for my new permanent crown that he put on today before my flight. Yes, the lab charged a little more for the rush job, but I was happy to pay the extra rush fee. He could have certainly completed the implant for our agreed upon price; which was $1,000 more than the service he ended up suggesting and going with; so I got a mini vacation, met a wonderful doctor, leaving PV with a permanent crown that's beautiful & a treatment plan to finish out the 8 teeth I have left without veneers on them - saving about $8,000 from what I was quoted at home . He did say to book a 5 day vacation next time as he can't do 8 teeth overnight. LOL. Words can't express how thankful I am for Dr. Sanchez. If you are on the fence or nervous about going to Mexico for dental work, don't think twice about setting up a consult with him. read more
