My family has been going to smiles for Centreville and Dr Gorman for over 15 years. The best. Responsive, professional and skilled!

My family has used this practice for more than 20 years. Until recently, we've been pleased; however, customer service has declined quite a bit with both patient care, and especially, administration. Billing within the past year or so has become an absolute nightmare. We receive statements at least 3 months after the date of visit. The statements aren't received by mail for at least 2 1/2 weeks after the statement date and with the due date already past by more than 14 days, suggesting statements are not mailed promptly. The statements contain no real information on the charge and often don't total correctly. Our most recent statement shows a Balance Forward of $0, insurance payment of $205, which somehow results in a balance due of $30. A printed statement includes a "link for convenient payment." This is on a PRINTED statement (as in, there is no way to click the link). Entering the address of the link brings up an error. A patient has to call to pay the amount owed and the billing person is never reachable. read more

I was a patient of Dr. Gorman's for Invisalign. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the treatment and end result. Dr. Gorman himself is knowledgeable, capable, and utmost respectful. He addressed my concerns and did his job very well. If this review were based on the quality of treatment I received from him, it would absolutely be five stars. However, my only issues were with the office's disorganization and some staff. Communication is atrocious and three times I showed up for an appointment only for them to be canceled, including one after I had moved out-of-state over an insurance issue that I could have been called for to discuss rather than first flying four states over (plus the woman handling the insurance was so rude to me that I left upset). Although personally I use Dr. Gorman (he's awesome), this whole practice is such a community supporter with the friendliest staff! I got recommended here because my friend that has seen Dr. Hutchinson since he was a kid and now his kids are going to him. I never thought I would say a dentist place has such great customer service-- but they do! Extremely accommodating and will work with your timeline. They will make sure you get taken care of. For example, one time there was someone who took longer than expected before me, and they asked if I could wait or if I cared seeing someone else. I didn't care seeing someone else since everyone is great-- so they switched it right away. I took my 6 year old daughter here for a cleaning and check up and I was really shocked at the bill I got a few weeks later. I have the best dental insurance with MetLife and they charged so much for the cleaning and checkup, that it went way over what was allotted I got a bill for $202 dollars for a CHILDs checkup and cleaning. I will never go back again because I don't want to end up with some crazy bill - first the cleaning should be covered but they charge so much. And I had to pay a co pay. I would rate Michael Gorman 0 stars if that were possible. I initially needed a standard cosmetic procedure done but the work that the dentist did has caused me so much pain and damage that still lingers today, even two years later. He initially replaced a crown but ended up with chronic jaw pain and TMJ due to him not using any numbing medication. When I told him of the pain, he tried to address it by adjusting the crown, but ended up giving me more pain and ultimately led to tinnitus. I still have trouble sleeping due to a constant ringing in my ear. After additional unsuccessful sessions to help with my pain, he referred me to go to various orthodontists, therapists, and TMJ specialists. Keep in mind, I was still paying out of pocket for all of these doctors to help with the initial pain and damage Gorman caused. All in all, I paid more than ten grand for all of Gorman's shoddy work and the referrals. When I tried to ask him to help with the payments made to the doctors he referred me to, he refused. I never felt so insulted in my life. Here's a doctor that caused me more pain and had to send me to other doctors to clean up his mess and then had the nerve to not assist with those payments. His license should be revoked. If you're thinking of going here, don't make the same mistake I did. read more

They were great in the beginning but have gone downhill greatly since COVID. They billed the wrong insurance then after several calls billed the correct ins. but entered a wrong ID # twice; meanwhile sending me overdue bills the entire time. I called and spoke the receptionist (Mary) again and she claimed it was just a glitch in system and when I demanded to speak to someone in billing she claimed they were in a meeting all day and she would have them call. They never did and when I continued to call and Mary did not answer I was able to speak to billing who claimed Mary ever gave a message about anything I had discussed multiple times with her.
