I really wanted to have it framed in a frame that was hanging in her nursery when we brought her home from the hospital. Only problem, the art piece was in a rectangle shape and the fame was a square. Kevin was friendly and very knowledgeable. He assured me he could cut the art piece so that it could fit in the frame without losing any of its integrity. He was right. The end result was perfect! My daughter loved it and even though it was the holidays and the store was always buzzing when I was in there...Kevin got the project done in just a couple days. We'll be redecorating her room this weekend and finding the perfect place to hang it! Thank you Kevin for adding some ease to my holiday season and for making my vision a reality!

But, sometime in the past, it had been damaged: the photo - which was mounted on plastic and then cut with a table saw around the silhouette of the dog - had been scratched. After explaining exactly how he would fix the sculpture - by superimposing a new photo print over the existing image, cut to fit the existing plastic silhouette perfectly - Kevin did this challenging precision work in one day flat, for a very reasonable price. It is flawless, like new, and I am extremely happy. My highest review for this exceptional craftsman!

We couldn't have been happier, starting with her initial analysis along with the painstaking care that brought our 29" x 36" heirloom oil painting back to life. The painting had hung in my parent's dining room for many years and before that it was in my grandparents' and great grandparents' homes in the Chicago area. On initial inspection, Stella told us that the last restoration had been botched and that the framed painting had been improperly mounted on Masonite. She detailed the restoration process and gave us two options -- full or partial restoration -- with two different price tags. We chose the full restoration. She sent us photos as the restoration progressed so we could see how much of a difference this would make. Now, 3 months later, we have our beloved painting back in our home. We're seeing detail and colors that we never knew existed. And best of all, the final price was exactly what she had quoted to us. Stella is a real pro!

The frames are made of plaster, that was cast over wire. They are at least 100 years old. Chunks missing. The photos are curved. No glass covered them. The glass was lost or broken years ago. No way she could find glass that could fit the photos and the frame. The restoration took Stella around 3 months. Now I am talking about MUSEUM QUALITY restoration. When I picked them up I couldn't believe my eyes. The picture of my Grandfather, (which was almost torn in half and is the only known picture of him in our family)was nearly pristine! As was the one of my Grandmother. Now these treasures will be able to be passed down for many, many generations. Thank you so much Stella. We are so fortunate to have such an Artist in the Sacramento area. P.S. If you are a good client Perhaps you will be privileged to meet Zeus.

It would be very difficult to give an accurate estimate that way because there's a lot of dry rot underneath the steps which needed to be inspected in-person. R&B Framing was the only company which showed up to take a look at the steps. Two days later, Jose Cedillo emailed me an estimate and thoroughly answered my questions. His company uses Redwood or cedar wood for Victorian homes, though cedar does cost extra. We were surprised by how fast his crew finished the job. They showed up on April 9th, early in the morning and worked until the evening. They arrived the next day to finish the rest of the steps and the banisters. He also painted the banisters according to the original white creme color. If it's a legacy house, they'll stick to the originality of the Victorian architecture. (Per building code regulations, when a house is considered a legacy house the paint must be the original--or close to the original color--of when the house was first built.)

They didn't come in as the lowest bid, but their presentation and cost were within project budget so they were selected. I'm glad we chose them, their team of subcontractors were on the job site every morning on time and ready to go. They handled the work efficiently, with skill, and we could not be happier with the results so far. They have to come back and do a little finish work, and some additional work we would like them to do that was outside the original scope of work (yes, we asked them to do more, that is how much we liked their service).

Instead of a polite correction or guidance, the owner abruptly stormed out from the back and shouted "WHOA WHOA WHOA! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"--startling both of us. My wife apologized immediately and tried to explain we weren't aware there was a specific process, but that didn't stop him from continuing to raise his voice and snatching the poster from her hands. He then gave us an unnecessarily condescending lecture about how "it's really just common sense." Even after my wife apologized again and said she would remember for next time, he kept going. His tone was rude, patronizing, and completely disproportionate to the situation. We decided to leave without buying anything because we simply didn't want to be treated that way. To the owner: if you don't want customers touching merchandise, that's completely understandable--but then clearly post signs asking people not to handle items without assistance. Don't assume people know your process, and definitely don't talk down to them when they make a simple mistake. Your behavior was unprofessional, and it ruined what should have been a simple, pleasant shopping experience. We won't be returning, and we sincerely hope others are treated with more basic courtesy and respect than we were.
