Mr. Smith represented me four years ago in my family court case. Due to the sensitive nature of the case I am not able to discuss the details. Mr. Smith is on a ballot for family court judge election. We are still medically and financially impacted by Mr. Smith's sloppy preparation and piss poor performance in court. We went in for a simple filing with the country clerk and the court. The hard work had been done in advance; we had a contract document completely done and notarized on hand. Stay away from this law firm She was billed over $18,000 for the filing of 2 motions and the case never went to trial. I have filed a complaint with the Nevada Bar on behalf of my wife as she is not a native English speaker and it is currently under review . The case was eventually settled but no thanks to Kurt Smith. A Compromise was reached over custody & child support which we initiated but I am sure Kurt Smith will take credit. This law firm WILL over bill you, double bill you and you will be the one doing all the work they should be doing. Expect to be rotated around his associates who are also useless and then Kurt Smith will bill you again as he has to 'review' the work they submit - if he had the time in the first place this would not happen. I'm very disappointment of Kurt Smit Services. I went with him for a legal separation and then a divorce, he recommended me to go to trial and I trusted him so I ended up paying him more than 5,000 and as soon as I finished paying him he literally started to ignored my case, my phone calls and emails. Attorney Smith and his staff are extremely unprofessional and childish. They prepared documents for an individual I went to court against and they included frivolous slander and unnecessary claims. Literally it was like an immature high school aged individual prepared them. Reading through the forms this firm filed I was appalled Mr.Smith even signed off on them and I made that very clear in my reply. Luckily, during court the judge didn't even waste time commenting on any of the inaccurate childish claims that were made that literally had nothing to do with CHILD CUSTODY. I would definitely think twice before hiring this firm. I spoke with Mr. Smith in regards to my case and he took down my credit card information in MAYBE moving forward with retaining him as my legal representation. He immediately charged my card $5000! I let his assistant know that I was not interested in retaining him, and they still kept my money!!! He did not provide any legal services what so ever. I hire this lawyer group for the commodity of payments, worst mistake not reading the real reviews, they only care about money, they moved my hearing and I was not notified so I lost a day of work. But when my payment was not processed got the email right away to pay!!! During court have to explain quite of few times the situation by the time was in front of the judge everything went wrong, had to pay whole child support, allowance, some of her lawyer fees and other stuff. When I said I don't even have that money left by month to pay. his response was " do Uber or find a way to get the money". And they still want to charge more fees. Smith legal group did not show me the motion that my ex filed against me or even talked with me about it, Kurt just said "was everything ok". Then on court date the opposite lawyer made so many false accusations and Kurt didn't say anything to defend me and it was clear that he didn't even took a look at my case. not to mention he didn't have the slightest respect for me because he was always late for hearings "and very late!" The judge was very angry about this! It was easier to close the case and speaking face to face with my ex husband than to continue with Kurt Smith representing me who in the end cost me $13,000 to walk away still embarrassed! Also, after the case was closed, I called asking them to separate any and all documents I had left at the office I was going to pick up and they never got back to me or at least send me by mail.
