I had to wait about an hour after…read moremy appointment time just to be seen because they needed to verify that my insurance would, in fact, cover my appointment. THEN, apparently the dentist wanted a very specific xray that my insurance deemed unnecessary and even dangerous. I literally had no other options because I stood there with an already botched root canal from the other dentist who couldn't finish (and i had to pay out of pocket for) and a forming infection in my tooth hole. I was out of time, money, and options. He would not complete the root canal without this xray. I almost left the appointment but in the parkinglot my friend reminded me that I was out of options. (This was the only procedure I needed the entire year and my insurance was supposed to cover everything I needed up to 3k. Yet I end up somehow going over and paying over 600 out of pocket total.) I grudgingly proceeded with the appointment through tears and was required to pay over 200 bucks proceeded. The xray at that moment or he would not procede. I was also met with surprise when I was required to give even more money for ANOTHER xray that he wanted because he didn't like the clarity of one taken just the week before. This was before I even left the appointment. To top all my financial grief I was just hit with another bill from their office! All this after my insurance covers ALL my dental needs up to 3k and this is my only dental need! And I even received a call just 2 days after receiving this new surprise bill because they'd like to collect for charges that make absolutely no sense to me but I'm told since the insurance has been maxed out that I must pay the remainder. I have EXTREME dental phobia as it is and was not prepared for the nightmare that awoke as the novicane wore off. You'd think a specialist who deals in these procedures could have prepared me for the agony. Prescribed or otherwise. Anything but that pain! Pain relief would have been nice when the numbness wears off. I'd take over the counter but I was definitely not prepared for that level of pain. It was a neaseating shock to say the least.

After 2 weeks (of denial and bearing through the pain) I contacted my dentist and they gave me a referral to this office. Now for some personal history... I have the worst case of dental phobia... I'm sure past experiences fueled that, but my fear is beyond what some would consider the normal "I hate going to the dentist." I have sleepless nights over it and nausea if I know I need to go in... even just for a cleaning... I sweat and shake while in the chair... complete anxiety. Finding out I needed a root canal after just going through getting a crown was not great news. This office has been kind, gentle, supportive, and above all patient with me. They showed me compassion, provided proper communication, and gave me the confidence that I was in control of the situation. The empathy that was shown to me during this process was a monumental step in giving me the ability to be able to conquer my fears about dentistry. It might sound dramatic to some, but this is a daunting challenge for me. Stephanie Chen and her staff have made an incredible impact in my life for the future. I am not 100% sure who messed up but long story short, I had my root canal done there, everything was fine at the time, got my crown installed, but 2-3 months later I was still experiencing heat sensitivity, went back to my dentist and he told me I had to go back to Robison so I did. So Robison had to drill a hole in my brand new crown to finish whatever it was he should have done and when he finished he filled the new crown (despite my dentist telling him not to) and the filling he used did not match the crown... yeah so ... can't say he is a superstar IMO.

I have been back several times to have it adjusted. The last time I was informed the denture was so thin them to tell me this/they couldn't adjust it anymore. On the last visit, I was charged $17.00. After paying $4,168.80 I would expect a denture that fits and that I could chew food!! The dentures cost $1,525. I am on social security and cannot afford to pay for new dentures. I am sorry I ever walked thru their door!!

After experiencing some of the most intense pain of my life as a result of a tooth infection, my…read moredentist referred me to Dr. Burry and Skagit Endodontics. Sadly, this was all officially diagnosed on a Friday which, apparently, is NOT a great day to need a root canal. So, after an intense and agonizing weekend of pain meds and lots of pudding, I was more than happy to show up at Dr. Burry's office that Monday morning for my procedure. Yes, that's right, I was actually looking FORWARD to a root canal! Dr. Burry's staff was so sweet and understanding with me. They could tell I was in immense pain, and were super gentle and compassionate as they evaluated and confirmed the tooth infection, as well as gave me a 3D xray to make sure the tooth wasn't cracked. Thank goodness it wasn't, and the procedure was able to move forward. They were also able to bill my insurance directly, and even let me know in advance how much I would be expected to pay out of pocket. There is nothing fun about a root canal. But Dr. Burry and his team kept checking in on me throughout the procedure to make sure I was okay. When it was over, they let me know I'd probably be sore for a few more days (spoiler alert: I was), and sent me on my way to recover at home. I'm so thankful that Dr. Burry was able to get me in so quickly. The only thing that would have made this experience better would have been if he was open on weekends! I hope there isn't another root canal in my future anytime soon, but if there is I will happily return to Skagit Endodontics.
