We are "people" to two Smith Standard Poodles (SSP) and cannot rave enough about Mick and Ann Smith, Gail, Teri and the rest of their staff, their facility, and their dogs-they are top-notch-, in every respect. We did extensive research on standard poodle breeders across the country and were so impressed with the SSP website. Our positive impression continued and we became so excited after talking to Mick on the phone, we decided to drive from Ohio to Little Rock for a visit and we came home with our Cosette (they will fly your pup to you via the airlines, if you prefer). We were so thrilled with Cosette, we came back a year later in 2018 to bring home a brother for her, our Marius. Both of our Smith fur babies are amazing in every way-beauty, intelligence, behavior and temperament. Can't imagine being without a SSP-we would recommend SSP to anyone who wants to bring a standard poodle into their family, without hesitation or qualification! Smith Poodles is a wonderful breeder who breeds very calm well adjusted standard poodles. We bought our dog Gunner in June 2019 and he has been the best puppy I've ever had. He is so smart and was housetrained in two days using a doggie door. Two weeks later he did not require to be crated. We had a trainer come in to do some basic obedience training and she said he was the smartest dog she had ever trained. He learned to sit, stay, down and shake hands in the very first hour. Now at 9 months, he is a thriving wonderful dog. So wonderful that I just contacted Mr. Smith to get a companion for Gunner so he will have someone to play with. Also, when I received Gunner from the Smith's, he came with a two year health guarantee, so I can't imagine that if the two other reviewers had contacted Mr. Smith, that he wouldn't have honored that guarantee. I recommend this breeder to anyone who wants a highly intelligent, calm well adjusted standard poodle. He has to be doing something right to be in the business for over 20 years. read more

I have no idea why Yelp did not accept many of the positive reviews about Smith Poodles. I have purchased two smith poodles--Austin will be five and Abby will be 1 this Valentine's Day, 2021. I personally went to Arkansas to pick up Austin, spoke with MIke and Ann and several of the employees, toured the facility, and found everything very exceptional. Austin was two when I got him. I bought Abby two years later when she was only 8 weeks old. Ann cautioned me to keep Abby away from other dogs until she received all of her shots and to keep her away from dog parks where she could pick up parvo. I could not ask for better standards--both are smart, love everyone, are very healthy and have great personalities. There is no doubt in my mind that Smith puppies are given every attention with regard to health and personality. I have told several people in Estes Park who want a standard poodle to purchase it from Mick and Ann. read more

I have purchased/bonded with the most wonderful perfect awesome beautiful perfect special loving perfect poodle friend ever! My Smith Standard Poodle is beyond words. Healthy as a horse with no issues whatsoever. My Jazz is almost 2 years old and just a fabulous perfect ( I can't say that too many times) fur baby! Not sure who takes care of who but he's the most special pet I have ever owned. I can't give more than 5 stars but there is no limit to my satisfaction with this breeder. Lots of integrity with Mick and Ann! Jazz was shipped to me via air with no issues. On time healthy and happy! I purchased a female puppy from Smith Standard Poodles this summer to become my 2 year old son's therapy dog. He has a rare form of leukemia, and this dog has been amazing! I swear that she knew she was meant to be my son's dog from the moment we met her. We named her Abby after my son's favorite nurse. Abby is in training right now to become a licensed therapy dog to take to Arkansas Children's Hospital. I absolutely cannot say enough great things about Abby and the Smith Standard Poodles family! They have stayed in contact and were extremely knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire process. (I have had 5 poodles in my life, and I would definitely purchase my next poodle AGAIN from them!) read more

We have two Smith standard poodles, one DOB 6/18/14 and the other 9/14/10 and both are healthy, happy girls who are a joy to have as part of our family! They have outstanding temperaments and are beloved by everyone in the neighborhood. The Smith kennel in Little Rock is immaculate and every dog there is healthy and happy. As someone who grew up raising puppies for Guide Dogs, Inc and Canine Companions and whose first job out of college was training Dogs for the Deaf, I feel absolutely qualified to say that Smith poodles are fabulously well-bred dogs. We have 2 Smith Standard Poodles. We did our research and visited their kennels before we purchased our first poodle, Cozee. She is a healthy , energetic,loving girl. And she is so smart!! We were so pleased with our Smith Poodle and love her so much that we decided to purchase another one. We bought Chet about 18 months later. Chet is a big, lovable and goofy poodle. He always keeps us laughing!! The times we visited Smiths kennels we have found them to be clean and all their dogs looked healthy and happy. I purchased my sweet Lucy when she was 9 weeks old from Smith's. She is now almost 2 and is one of the best dogs I have ever owned. A beautiful black and white parti standard who is amazingly smart, loyal and obedient. Lucy spends most of the day with me and my horses off leash. She has learned so many cues with very little effort. She is a pure joy and a great cuddler who sleeps snuggled against me every nite. I am seriously considering another poodle pup from the Smith's. They produce excellent dogs and were very nice to deal with. Mr. and Mrs Smith and Teri went out of their way to accommodate me. Highly recommend this breeder. read more

We were lucky enough to get our boy Bingeaux from Smith Standard Poodles 2 years ago. He has been one of best dogs we've ever had (and it's hard to say that because we love all of our fur babies). Bing is destined to be a therapy dog because of his lovable personality and calm demeanor. He has had no health issues and receives good marks when he visits our vet. My parents brought home their Smith poodle, Keira (tuxedo) in 2012. She's been nothing but a delight and has the perfect temperament. In 2018 my Fiancé and I brought home our beautiful, Mya, from Smith Standard poodles. She's a fun and spunky girl. She was almost completely potty trained at 8 weeks old. She's extremely smart and a very happy girl. I wouldn't recommend any other breeder. These dogs are amazing and they are socialized very well at a young age. read more

I picked my Buster on 1/15/19. My 4 1/2 pound puppy arrived at the airport, and from the moment I took him out of his crate he was so happy to be with us. He is now 40 pounds of happy dog. I've had other poodles but he is the sweetest softest boy I've ever had. His first night he went in his crate and slept all night with no crying.
