This place doesn't have the bells and whistles of the larger farms with activities for kids and what not, but it's perfect if you're not looking for a crowded environment. Plus, it's reasonably priced. The strawberries are $2 per pound and a bucket holds about 5 pounds when completely full. They are CASH ONLY so do make sure you have some on hand when you go. Who wants to buy old fruits and veggies from the grocery store instead of shopping at an open-air market? From early May through November, the Suffolk Farmers' Market (SFM) provides a plethora for our senses. Approximately three years ago the SFM started a visitor center that has some nice features, including a pavilion and ceiling fans. Here are key features: -local produce -baked goods -artisan crafts (e.g., jewelry, bags, wood, etc.) -dog biscuits -live music -plants -petting zoo -grass-fed meat and eggs The SFM is open Wednesdays (3 p.m. - 6 p.m.) and Saturdays (9 a.m. - 1 p.m.); personally, I would recommend going on Saturdays as the selections on Wednesdays can be sparse. It is not the biggest market around; but, more so, it's about the community and supporting local businesses. Check it out!

They are open every Saturday 9-noon (May-Oct) and every 3rd Saturday 9-noon (Nov-April). This is also a pet friendly market. Parking is street parking or there is a small free parking lot nearby. Old Beach farmers market has over 30 vendors each weekend. You can find fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs, seafood, flowers, cheese, mushrooms, sauces, baked goods, tea and much more. You can even find a food truck. Some of my favorite Vendors are: Capstone Mushrooms, they always have a great selection of Oyster mushrooms (blue, pink, gold, king) , beech, Chestnut, lions Mane and shiitake. They sell grow kits if you want to try your hand at growing your own as well as extracts and blends you can add to your soups, sauces or drinks. Life is Gouda, they sell a variety of cheese based spreads. My favorite is the smoked gouda. It goes great with crackers, celery and carrots, a must try! Cromwell's Produce & Fritillary farm is my go to for fresh produce. This market does have a few produce vendors to choose from but I frequent these two the most. They always have fresh greens and fruits that are in season. Nick B's Chimichurri sells absolutely the best chimichurri sauce. It has a long shelf life and doesn't need to be refrigerated. This Sauce goes great on everything, steak, chicken, fish, lamb, even a chip. I find the prices to be very reasonable and comparable to the large chains. Definitely recommend stopping by and supporting small business and local farmers.
