Harris Teeter selection is fantastic. I usually found what I wanted. This ranged from organic potatoes to curry sauce, Tofurky deli slices and craft beer. Their beer selection is small, but there is a nice little collection of options. You can find local brews here too, and I found that to be very very exciting! The wine selection is also extensive and delicious. There is an emphasis on Carolina wines here, and I think that is really important. As for people thinking Harris Teeter is expensive? Well, some products ARE. However, there are sales and great coupons to take advantage of. When you compare the prices here to the prices in other areas, Harris Teeter seems like a bargain basement. Then again, Wilson is a small town with a low-average income. If you are looking for something special, definitely come here. Much of what is here is of the pork persuasion, but beef and chicken are also represented -there is even a cow at the top of their roadside sign. But the pork products rule, in variety and level of interest. There are whole Country Hams hanging from racks in the middle of the shop, and slices of ham packaged in the refrigated, display area. They have Bacon - regular sliced and slab; Sausage - fresh country breakfast sausage, smoked sausage, old timey air dried sausage - regular or hot. Also packaged slabs of Liver Pudding, Souse Meat, Side Meat, Smoked Neck Bones and Ham Hocks, and even fresh Cracklings for your cornbread.
