However, upon arrival, it became clear that both the receptionist and the vet tech had little to no hands-on experience with ferrets, which was immediately concerning. My ferret, Lucy, was 6 years old and severely ill. The visit focused only on treating her diarrhea, despite the fact that she was actually suffering from lymphoma, which was never properly addressed during this appointment. The visit felt rushed, and there was very little explanation, attention to detail, or discussion about the seriousness of her condition. I was later told they could not provide further care because it was outside of their "scope." That level of limitation should be clearly communicated from the very beginning -- especially when an animal's life is at risk. Clear communication is kind -- and it's critical when someone is repeatedly expressing concern that their pet is declining. One week later, I took Lucy to West End Animal Hospital, where they immediately performed bloodwork, ruled out other conditions, and confirmed that her lymphoma and liver failure were severely affecting her entire body. We ultimately had to make the heartbreaking but selfless decision to let her go. She needed urgent, specialized, and knowledgeable care, not basic-level treatment. Had I been told honestly about this clinic's lack of ferret expertise, I would have gone elsewhere immediately. For exotic pets -- especially ferrets -- I strongly recommend seeking care in the Gainesville or Newberry area where true exotic specialists are available.

One is a foster that I have had for two years. The third is a spoiled rotten Yorkie that I am pet sitting for a couple of months. I warned Beth up front that the Yorkie might be a problem child and he was. She said she had to muzzle him. That was no surprise. All the kids look great and were not traumatized by the visit. A surcharge applies to all grooming services Friday through Sunday." That surcharge is equal to the higher rate. So either, they have increased the window from Thursday to Sunday, or their system is not accurate. When I called into the store, they said that it's a "holiday weekend" as such the surcharge applies. Today is Thursday. April 2nd. My company has switched to a "full transparent" fee guide. Meaning every possible fee we can charge is 100% listed on all our sites. No where does it say on Petsmart site that there are "Holdiay" surcharges. In fact, the only mention of surcharges is on Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Again, today is Thursday.
