Last night was my family's last night eating at Smitty's. When we arrived with 4 adults and 7 boys ages 9-14 we were literally the only people in the whole restaurant. When we were walking in 4 of the staff was out side around the back of the building and the smell of weed would knock you down. After about a few minute wait a server appeared from the back and seated us. After we were seated the boys were at a table and the 4 adults at a table. The waitress was taking our drink order and another employee brought her the phone. After she finished the phone conversation the waitress came up very politely and said the owner said the boys had to sit at the able with us. We were being watched on a security camera. Now mind you we were the only people in the whole restaurant and our kids were less than 15 feet away. Three of the bigger boys were going to sit at a table right next to us with only a walk way in between and we was then told they either had to be at the table with us or an adult had to sit at the able with them even though we could literally touch them. The server was very polite and was very apologetic about the situation and said they have been having lots of complaints lately. I can see why and the fact that you can't do half pizzas anymore. This place has went down hill in so many ways since they moved locations. We have been enjoying Smitty's for many many years and ever since they moved the place and atmosphere has changed drastically and not in a good way. The sad part is for the staff who works there trying to make a living and the owner pulls crazy stunts like this that the server has to implement. read more

I do recommend but I don't at the same time, First the pizza and cheese sticks are always good always But....last night we went in and ordered beers, soft drinks cheese sticks and a pizza. The hostess girl was super nice and our waitress got sidetracked so the hostess brought our soft drinks but her hand was wrapped in a dirty ace bandage and obviously in an ace bandage it possibly hadn't been washed it should have been in a glove at a minimum Our server was something wrong with her I don't know what slurred speech just off I'm not judging she was nice as she could be but off I know they come after you for bad reviews this isn't a bad review but I don't know if I will be back and I will get from them good don't and that's fine and good I won't read more

Meh. We were told they were the best pizza in town. Definitely a good pie, but it was a bit overhyped.

My family loves this place! I feel like it is more forgotten than not...and it definitely shouldn't be. Sure it's dark and odd on the inside and not too glamorous on the outside. But honestly, who really cares?! Because Smitty's knows how to make gooood pizza. They also have such friendly staff!! We normally split a large thin crust pepperoni pizza and add green bell peppers. The crust is what makes it so unique and memorable. It personally reminds me of a saltine cracker! Ha!! Maybe not the best way to describe it and maybe not the best way to justify how good it is, but believe me...it's good! This is the place to go for those nights you just want your typical pizza. It's a real shame that Smitty's lost a customer that's been buying pizza's from there over 30 years. In fact when it first opened it was Pizza Inn but over the years not a lot changed until recently. We've been ordering the same exact pizza's (almost unless we're buying more for a party or get together) but when I ordered today I stated thin and crispy crust. When we got was Burnt and charred pizza. It was so burnt you couldn't even tell it was supposed to be double cheese. But both pizza's ordered were burnt to a crisp. I called when we opened the boxes when I got back and asked to speak with a manager. I explained the problem and instead of trying to rectify the situation I was told "you need to order original". That's BS because like o said I have ordered these pizzas every single time for the past 30+ years. So we will not return. my son ordered a 12 inch bacon and pepperoni pizza. when they brought our order I didn't initially pay atttention but later realized his pizza had Canadian bacon, not pepperoni. I asked him didn't he order pepperoni- not realizing it was also missing bacon at that time and he said he didn't want to complain or wait for them to remake it and said it was ok. I saw him picking the sausage offthe pizza and that is when I realized they got his order totally wrong. I explained to him that it's not fair for us to pay for something he didn't order. When the waitress came back to the table I explained what happened- that he'd ordered pepperoni and bacon and received Canadian bacon and sausage. she said she would have them remake it. I wasn't expecting him to say he would now wait and planned to just pay and leave, but he did end up wanting to wait. After another 25 minutes the pizza was brought to the table, this time with pepperoni and canadian bacon....not regular bacon. by that time I was over it. I told him to pay for it with his cash app card and I went to the car. Having your order done incorrectly not once but twice after a 25 minute wait is ridiculous. read more

We ordered a pizza from Smittys for the first time in years. Boy o boy, just great. Was like way back when pizza first came to Shreveport. Tasted like homemade delicious. I could not believe how good it was. We will be ordering from this place again. It makes all the other pizza places seem like nothing. Cardboard tasting crust, nothing special. Smittys is just like old fashioned real pizza. This will be our go to pizza place from now on. Excellent pizza for what they offer. They don't go wild and crazy with their menu selections but what they do offer, they do very well. I never see this place packed but at times they have a decent crowd. They are a local family-owned restaurant and nice people. They have been here for ages and have some very loyal customers. They have a very small salad bar with limited selections but it always appears clean and fresh. My wife and I almost always get the Smitty's Special on thin crust and something else the kids are in the mood for. I love their thin crust. They are very generous with their fresh toppings. What's the difference between a Smitty's Special and a Pepperoni Pizza? Answer: I didn't order a Pepperoni pizza. Delivery person (GrubHub) shows up and states restaurant contacted GrubHub and stated they sent sent wrong pizza. I could keep the pepperoni, send pepperoni back and wait another 20-30 minutes for the pizza I ordered to be delivered (like I'd want a pizza that was sitting there are 30+ minutes), or send pepperoni back and cancel. CANCEL. How should this have been handled? Smitty's should have paid GrubHub driver to deliver the Hot, Fresh pizza that was originally ordered. I really love Smitty's pizza, but this is the 3rd issue within 3 weeks and all you get is somebody on the phone blaming everybody else, or nothing. Good pizza and amazing cheese bread. We ordered the meat lovers. Only thing I wasn't crazy about was the cheddar cheese. I would prefer just traditional mozzarella but the cheesy bread was like commercial worthy awesome. It was stringy, hot and the dipping sauce just made you want more.
