He asked me what I wanted for it. I gave him my price, and he agreed. I drove down with my son from Wilkes to the shop, and met Marty, his wife, and their daughter-in-law. It was a pleasure to do business with them. They are absolutely wonderful, honest people. (And they have great taste in jewelry!) The shop was great. They have beautiful birds, and there were exotic flowers planted outside. Marty gave me the amount we agreed to over the phone, and I felt that it was a fair price. (I used to sell jewelry.) We had a nice conversation. I will definitely come back to Gold King if I have something I want to sell. I can't recommend Gold King enough. Trust me, you won't regret doing business with Marty and Martha.

When it was owned by Jimmy, it was a hometown store for the local people it helped them in many ways. But now that another company called Quick Cash Pawn has bought them, they are not for the hometown people. I have watched them turn people away, I have watched people walk away in complete and utter disdain for what they have done to them. We missed Jimmy and his hometown values! The management now is not reasonable that do not listen to their customers their customers are just a dollar sign. I honestly suggest that if you live in the Lenoir area that you go to Steve's Pawn, they are not owned by a big company that does not care about their people. That being said, there are a few employees there who are very nice, very friendly, and very understanding, but because of Quick Cash Pawn rules and regulations, a lot of times, they are not able to help you. I only gave them two stars because of the three employees that are nice. If you do go into this pawn shop, I suggest you ask for Tim or or as they are super nice people, they have always been friendly and helpful as the company will allow them to be.
