We came to see my favorite band on their farewell tour, and I was appreciative The staff working the door were friendly and actually allowed attendees to take merch back out to there car even after having scanned your ticket to get in, so I didn't have to carry stuff with me. The venue it self isn't huge, maybe allowing 400-500 capacity(?). The low ceiling provides good acoustics, but only one entrance means a big bottle neck after the show. They also don't really have a parking lot, but there is a lot of free on street parking. I'd definitely return for another show.

Downstairs bathrooms were spotless. Is this place brand new? The music hall is beautiful. and it still smelled like lumber. It does get a little hot towards the front. I tend to prefer warm to cold, but it was a bit warm in the front. I thought it was just warm all over but when I walked down the center aisle during a break in the set I felt a gust of cool A/C. Dress appropriately, as the musicians felt it as well. There were a few small technical glitches but nothing that marred the show - the lights went out but it was right at the end of a song so it was pretty cool timing for an accident! They popped right back on. If you're thinking about walking from downtown Asheville...maybe don't. It's downhill as you walk towards the river and uphill as you walk away so it's not a casual stroll in either direction. There are also two small sections with very limited street lighting.

I appreciate the security when you walk in, metal detectors and staff members who very politely made sure everyone was safe. Scanning our tickets and entering was a breeze. Bartenders were very friendly and welcoming! We were standing at the barricade, so we chatted with the security guards and they were some of the nicest workers I've met at a show! They had lots of water bottles on hand to pass out to anyone who needed it, which is always great to see. The bands sounded great and we had an awesome time. We're already looking forward to the next show we can catch here!

For those not aware, One Stop is the smaller downstairs venue, with an entrance on College Street, connected to Asheville Music Hall thats larger and upstairs, with its entrance on Patton Avenue. One Stop is always been my destination in Asheville when I've been out on the town but want to grab some late night pizza slices before I head over to my room for the night. It's late, I've had some drinks, and the food is exactly what I want: hot and ready pizza. To boot-there's usually a swank little band playing at the One Stop at the same time, and usually its free with the expectation of tips being given. So give tips. Eat Pizza. Have a beer. Listen to music, all between the hours of 12 am till it closes, then head home. That's the recipe for enjoying yourself at One Stop.
