Stopped here on a Friday morning with a few ladies. We ordered and our food and drinks and both came quick. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and their food. I ordered a breakfast sandwhich and enjoyed it, but wish they put a sauce of some sort on it. I have also tried their muffins and scones which are delicious. The staff was very kind and the environment is very chill. This is a great place to stop and get coffee and a snack.

Smokey Row, please get new to-go cups and lids. I went through your drive-thru and got a large coffee and when I parked at work to pick up my coffee it spilled all over my lap! It spilled on my seat and on my pants. It's good coffee but I don't want it to go on my lap, I'd rather enjoy it. I saw it was already leaking when I was driving to work. This isn't the first time I've had a bad cup from you guys either. Please! Change your cups! Get better ones! For the price, it's ridiculous...

Whenever I'm in Des Moines, I have to make a stop here. Not only is the customer service great, but the shop has ample amount of space to hang with friends, study, or work. You will surely be satisfied with any of their coffees, sweet treats, and even their ice cream!!!

It's okay as a spot to grab coffee, but I think it's mainly a spot for people who live in walking distance to hang out. The location confused my gps and the parking lot wasn't the greatest layout. Going inside, the staff was fine, but not particularly friendly. I don't think there's anything wrong with this place, but it just didn't seem special, the experience or the coffee itself.

My friend and I stopped at this place right as we drove in for a concert. We were starving. We walked in and the vibe was great! There were people everywhere--some dining, others studying, others sitting at the soda counter. It attracts a very diverse clientele, and I loved that! We ordered delicious sandwiches and coffees. The food came right away and the portions were great. This is definitely on my list of places to visit whenever we are in Des Moines next!

Really enjoyed the vibe of this place. The staff was super friendly. And the scone was pretty good. Coffee was typical but decent..

Was in Des Moines today earlier for afternoon business and stopped here for a quick drink. Got a vanilla iced chai latte. It was very good. Would get it again immediately. Staff nice, service quick and a very inviting shop. Lots of baked goods, coffee, tea, sodas, ice cream, and more. Love the layout and different rooms they had. Plenty of room. When in the area.... Would go back instantly. I like how spacious it felt. Only thing... they should post their Wi-Fi password so it's easy to find.

Large central coffeehouse that attracts all of Des Moines. Nice place to gather with a group, study in the corner, meet a date, bring an out of towner, or get a cup of joe one on one with a friend. Food and coffee drinks galore. Ice cream, teas, baked goods, and cafe foods are offered here. The Cheeseburger Soup is probably the most popular food among my friends. And the traditional ice cream is attractive to all those who can enjoy it. Smokey Row offers syrups and all sorts of milks. I do enjoy a nice flavored latte with Oatmilk. Their coffee and espresso beans are ok. I would like to see more plant based options for snacks and food. I typically enjoy a simple loose leaf tea in a tea pot with unlimited hot water refill. Decor is rustic and vintage. Booths and tables and meeting rooms. It draws all sorts of patrons to come enjoy this location. I like Smokey Row but it's not my go to coffeehouse. It can get very loud and crowded at times. But makes a great spot to come to see and be seen.

This place has been on my want to go list for over a year, but I was never downtown in the morning or afternoon and stopping on the way home in the evening seemed too late for coffee. I was finally downtown helping with a Habitat for Humanity home build, so took the opportunity to stop here for lunch. Wow, am I glad that I stopped to see what all they had to offer (a lot more than just coffee - see menu pictures) and experience a couple of great items! I was taken aback with the large selection of breakfast and lunch sandwich offerings and felt that they were fairly priced. I started with a Pumpkin Pie Latte (see picture) and was thoroughly impressed - flavorful, yet wasn't overly sweet and heavy. For my lunch I ordered a Rise and Shine (smoked turkey, egg, crisp bacon, provolone cheese and fresh guacamole on toasted ciabatta - see picture). It was fantastic...I highly recommend it. You will definitely enjoy your stop here, no matter what time of the day or night it is. Food: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Value: 5 Service: 4 If you found this review helpful, please click to show your support. Passing through town I stopped in here for a cup of coffee. What a great spot. While the line was a little long, it moved quickly and my drink arrived shortly after ordering. The girl at the register was fast and friendly. The place was casual and relaxed. If I lived in the area, this would be a regular stop for me.

Cute on the inside, but that's about all it has going for it. Ordered the turkey Panini and it was horrible. They have too much stuff on the menu and none of it is good.

In terms of food, this place has been a bit of a hit or miss for me. The first time we stopped by, we had smoothies, and they were delicious, creamy, and not too artificially sweet, yummy but still felt healthy at the same time. The second time, we tried their coffee and waffles. The latte was good, and I liked their seasonal flavor options. Unfortunately, the gingerbread waffle we tried was practically inedible, wayyyy too spiced, to the point it tasted medicinal. The pomegranate seeds on top, which looked pretty at first, were actually soft and mushy, clearly not fresh. That said, I'm still willing to come back for another smoothie, because those were really good.

I had the Old Fashioned with brown sugar, orange bitters, angostura bitters, and bourbon. It's pretty sweet and smooth Old Fashioned. Very nice start and enjoyable. Decided on the CFD Burger, a double smash with American Cheese, Shaved Onion, Pickles, and Clyde's Burger Sauce. I really like the shaved onion and it gave the beef a really nice flavor. First bites were very good, but the bun became too much and the sauce in the middle too heavy. Became hard to finish. I had to ditch some bun and would get the sauce on the side. Not terrible, just not my jam. I would get the sauce on the side or try ketchup/ mustard instead. The bun is just really thick and heavy. Just not a good ratio. The fries were just ok for me and not exciting. This restaurant also has the 3% fee if you use a credit card. I checked the receipt and gave a hundred dollars and asked for change. I included a picture of the receipt. I got thirty in cash back, 5 singles, a 5, and 2 tens. I am ok with not giving the change of coins, but rounding it up and keeping the 3% fee made me feel like integrity has went down hill. Yes it's less than 5 dollars and I know the haters will say what's the big deal. Well it's a neat way to make extra cash at the customers expense. They don't remove the fee and they keep a few dollars. That's not an accident and it feels like theft. I had left $12 for the tip, but after a review I left 10% due to dishonest customer service. What's the point of paying cash on these if you still get charged? Some have said it's leftover from the Covid Days. How many restaurants are doing a 3% fee? Yes, I know it's supposed to cover the CC fee, but it is obviously not if you are paying cash. This just feels really crooked and wrong. Yes it is a very small amount, just over $4, but if you do that how many times, how many days, over a year it definitely adds up. Not sure I would go back. No I didn't talk to a manager or anyone. I had a show to catch and wasn't going to ruin a night over a fee and be late. Just be aware of the fees when paying cash. Really feel the 3% fee just makes restaurants look bad and provides more problems than it solves. Why not add a 6% fee for lights and gas next?
